This 3-year-old Keeshond/Border Collie mix is so sweet and snuggly! Mishka, meaning "little bear", is the cutest, rollie-polliest dog ever. Currently 52 pounds (and working on shedding some extra weight), she enjoys the simple pleasures in life—cuddling, napping, playing in the snow, and giving kisses. Mishka is sure to make you smile, whether it’s her adorable butt sway when she walks (SO sassy), her habit of sleeping on her back like a person, or her comical attempts to sniff snow without getting it up her nose. Mishka has come a long way from her rough beginnings, and has blossomed into a total lovebug and the perfect couch companion.While initially quite nervous at her new foster home, she still loved cuddles and adjusted quite well to her new routine with a little extra love. She is house-trained and lets you know when she needs to go outside. She’s also crate-trained and can be convinced to settle in with the promise of a treat, staying calm and quiet once inside. While she’s a self-proclaimed couch potato, Mishka enjoys running around the yard and doesn’t require a lot of exercise beyond some outdoor playtime and occasional walks.She is VERY dog friendly, and loves having playdates with family members' dogs. She gets along well with cats as well! She recently stayed with another foster for a short period in a home with a cat, and she did great! Of course, she will need a proper introduction to new dog and cat friends, but there are no concerns. Mishka has a gentle personality that makes her great with kids, and she’s been wonderful with the children she’s met. Mishka is still working on her confidence so she prefers to be with her humans as much as possible. I love to play—whether it’s with people, dogs, or chasing after toys, I’m always ready for some action. After I’ve had my fun, I can relax on the floor or on my favorite rug (dog beds are growing on me too). Because I can get a little mouthy and jumpy when I’m excited, it would be best if there weren’t little children in my forever home. Older kids are probably the best fit for me. I’m a huge fan of treats—seriously, I’ll do just about anything for one. I know how to "sit," "shake," and I can even "wait" for my food until you tell me to dig in. Chewing bones is another one of my favorite things, and I love playing rough-and-tumble with other dogs that can keep up with my energy. I’d be happiest in a home with another dog that’s around my size and loves to play as much as I do. I’m potty trained, so I only do my business outside. I am improving on my leash walking everyday so don’t need a fenced yard as long as you promise to get outside and help me get some exercise. I do love the freedom of a fenced yard to chase around and get the zoomies. I’m not a huge fan of the crate and will bark for a bit when you leave me in there, but I settle down and keep it clean while you’re away. In fact, I would make a good office dog and love when my people work from home.  I have to admit, I’m not good with cats. I’ve got a bit of a prey drive, so I’ll chase them if I get the chance.
