Story
This 3-year-old Keeshond/Border Collie mix is so sweet and snuggly! Mishka, meaning "little bear", is the cutest, rollie-polliest dog ever. Currently 52 pounds (and working on shedding some extra weight), she enjoys the simple pleasures in life—cuddling, napping, playing in the snow, and giving kisses. Mishka is sure to make you smile, whether it’s her adorable butt sway when she walks (SO sassy), her habit of sleeping on her back like a person, or her comical attempts to sniff snow without getting it up her nose. Mishka has come a long way from her rough beginnings, and has blossomed into a total lovebug and the perfect couch companion. While initially quite nervous at her new foster home, she still loved cuddles and adjusted quite well to her new routine with a little extra love. She is house-trained and lets you know when she needs to go outside. She’s also crate-trained and can be convinced to settle in with the promise of a treat, staying calm and quiet once inside. While she’s a self-proclaimed couch potato, Mishka enjoys running around the yard and doesn’t require a lot of exercise beyond some outdoor playtime and occasional walks.Mishka is still working on her confidence and managing some separation anxiety. She prefers to be with her humans as much as possible, so she will follow you everywhere and gets a little noisy when left alone. We believe that her ideal home will be with a patient family that is home often, and she will require a home without shared walls (no apartments/townhomes) and will need a calm and confident resident dog to keep her company. She hasn’t had much experience with other dogs or cats, but she’s largely indifferent to dogs outside the home and might do well with slow introductions to a confident canine companion. Mishka has a gentle personality that makes her great with kids, and she’s been wonderful with the children she’s met. Mishka is ready to be your devoted cuddle buddy and bring love into your life!
