Story
From Hachi`s fosters:Hachi is a cute and fun 10-month old pup who probably weighs around 25-30lbs. Great size! He has been with us for three months and is mostly house-trained and also crate-trained, happily sleeping in a large crate at night. He loves toys especially chew toys, and enjoys going on twice daily walks, occasional hikes, and chasing balls. He would love a home with active adults and a large yard to run around in. He is good in the car, well-behaved when we’re dining out, shy but social, listens to correction, and he’s been learning wait, sit, off, leave it, ouch, and go potty. Hachi has some lingering fear issues but his behavior has greatly improved and he’s coming out of his shell. He would do best with a patient and understanding adult family who will take things at his pace and give him a safe space. He’s lived with dogs and cats before. He is shy but curious around other dogs and wants to make friends. He would probably benefit from having a calm dog around to show him the ropes. It may help to overcome his fears and mild separation anxiety (having someone home also helps). He has Valley Fever and takes his meds in pill pockets twice daily, which I’m told he may be on for life.Hachi wins people over wherever we go, and is on his way to becoming the bestest dog as he gains more confidence and hopefully gets over his insecurities. He’s such a sweet, smart and playful guy who really wants to please! Please consider Hachi - he deserves to find his forever home. If you’re interested, email PACC.AdoptAfoster@pima.gov and ask for Hachi (#A841731), letting us know why you think he might be a good fit for your home.

In fact, Clarence is a field trip favorite who has been on all kinds of adventures- to hike on Mt. Lemmon, to get a pup cup, to meet new people, and to hang out in an apartment for the day. He loves toys, does well in the car and is a curious, friendly guy. He loves people and with a bit of basic puppy training, will be the best copilot! Clarence shares his kennel with another PACC pup and would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit. Ask to meet Clarence today!!

CENSUS DEADLINE 5PM 11/05/24AVAILABLE FOR LONG TERM FOSTER 30+ DAYS OR ADOPTION THROUGH PACCName: JasmineAnimal ID: A850675Age: 8 yearsWeight: 55 lbs.About: Jasmine, an 8-year-old cream-colored Chow Chow mix, found herself in an unexpected situation on September 19th, 2024. She boldly jumped into a kind Samaritan`s car, refusing to leave. Despite attempts to coax her out, Jasmine reacted defensively, snapping and showing her teeth. The good Samaritan contacted Animal Protection Officers, who carefully removed her from the vehicle and brought her to PACC.Once at the shelter, Jasmine`s fear and anxiety were evident. She resisted walking on leash, flailed, and thrashed, and reacted strongly to any touch. It was discovered that she had a microchip, our pet support team attempted to contact the owner. Unfortunately, they have not come to reclaim Jasmine.Jasmine will require a patient and understanding long term foster 30+ days or adopter who can provide a calm and supportive home. She needs someone willing to take things slow, respecting her pace and allowing her to build trust over time. While Jasmine`s nervousness hinders progress in the stressful shelter environment, she has shown positive interactions with other dogs, even sharing a kennel peacefully. She also walks nicely on a leash now, moving at the slow pace you might expect from senior citizens. She is still wary of handling, but approaches volunteers curiously to sniff and stays nearby. Here is what one volunteer said:“We brought Jasmine and her kennelmate out to a play yard today. Jasmine was shy, but easy to leash and she walked slowly out of the kennel and to the yard. She accepted gentle pets on her head and back. This sweet senior is obviously flummoxed as to why she is in the scary shelter. She is tender and needs outta here!!”Jasmine has been sharing her kennel politely and has been independent and easygoing when meeting other dogs in playgroup. If Jasmine finds a loving home, our PACC clinic team will proceed with surgery to remove the mass on her face. Depending on availability, the surgery will be performed before she leaves the shelter or scheduled as a follow-up appointment. If you`re interested in offering Jasmine a loving home, please visit PACC as soon as possible. Your patience and understanding could be the key to helping her overcome her fears and find the happiness she deserves.Adoption Process:Interested parties: •Mus
