Story
Contrary to his name, our Captain Hook has four perfect paws without a hook in sight. Which is good, because walking on a hook would be challenging for a dog!! In the Disney movie, Captain Hook was always looking for Peter Pan’s lair- our Captain Hook just wants to find a lair of his own- a home with a patient and loving family who will help him build confidence. Captain Hook came to the shelter as a stray and is a shy, sensitive boy. He needs some extra help with socialization, decompression, and just learning how to dog. Here’s what one of his best volunteer friends had to say:“Captain is one of my faves to get out. He’s still working on comfort with touch and he totally uses me for treats since he knows I’ll give them freely, but I adore him. He clearly has anxiety with interactions with people. Even with that, I am on my way to eventually win him over. Lately I have gotten tail wags when I approach his kennel. Captain is a nice walker and he likes to sit in the pool to cool off. When I have him out in a yard, I use treats to get him closer to me and build trust. Captain would need a very patient quiet home to decompress in, but I think in time he would open up to someone who showed him love. He`s so very special to me and I’ll keep working on him.”During a short stay in a foster home Captain Hook was reportedly housebroken, crate trained, and easy to walk. He will need ample time to adjust to a home environment and a patient person or family who can give him the time he needs to open up and build confidence. Captain Hook has shared his kennel politely and mostly kept to himself and explored when taken to playgroup with other PACC dogs. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit, though he would likely benefit from having a calm, confident doggy friend to show him the ropes in a home environment. Please ask about this very special dog today!!

Story
Fenrig is the best boy! This handsome tator tot is a great companion- friendly, happy, easygoing, and all-around good company. He spent about a week in a foster home- here’s what we learned:- He was very sweet with the resident kids- He did well with other dogs- He is friendly, sweet and a couch potato- He loves being with his people and needs a little bit of help to feel comfortable when left home alone - He likes to snooze on the couch (who doesn’t??)Here’s what one volunteer at the shelter said about Fenrig:“I had Fenrig and his kennelmate out in a play yard today. After sniffing around and going potty, Fenrig came and checked in with me. He was immediately friendly and sought head scratches and love. He also played a little in the pool. Sweet dog!”Fenrig also went on a day trip where he got to relax all day at a quiet home away from the noisy shelter. He was described as gentle, calm, and well- behaved, and once again showed off his couch potato side. Fenrig shares his kennel with another PACC pup and has been social and tolerant when meeting other dogs in playgroup. Ask to meet Fenrig today!
