Story
Meet Timber, the XL Malamute mix! This big thicc boy came to the Shelter as an owner surrender after his previous guardian could no longer continue to care for him. Timber is a social butterfly and has befriended many people in the Shelter and in his previous home. He also regularly attended the dog park and had many canine friends he would socialize with. Timber does sometimes bark/growl on leash (aka have leash reactivity) when he sees other dogs. This is a common behavior in dogs and can be managed in his next home to decrease his (and his guardian’s) stress when out on walks. Timber was described as house trained in his previous home provided he was on a schedule. When home alone, Timber was find provided he had appropriate mental and physical stimulation. When it was too long and he got bored – he would get into mischief. If you are looking for a walking buddy and someone to keep you warm this winter – come meet Timber today! From 10/5 through 10/31, we are having a “Spooky Low Adoption Fees” promotion. All cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies will have a reduced adoption fee of $31, while small animals will have a fee of $13. No tricks, all treats!Come on in to meet your new BFF today at 1001 Rodriguez Street, Santa Cruz from 11-6pm. All adoptions are first come, first serve in person at the Shelter, and must be completed before 4:45pm.

Story
MEET CHAD! Chad is an approximately 2-year-old Chow Chow-shepherd mix in need of a new home! He was rescued from a California shelter and now is in a foster home, where he shares his time with other dogs. Chad is a bit shy at first but once he's relaxed and settled, he's a happy dude! He loves to romp and play and explore his surroundings. He's good with kids and other dogs and is a nice, smaller size. He would love a home with a yard and doggy friends to play with, too, though a yard is not a necessity. Please email for an application.
