Story
Cash (A136442) is a 3-year-old Karelian Beardog mix who weighed 38.8 pounds on intake! 10/31/24 This sweet boy is Cash! Cash was surrendered to the shelter because his separation anxiety became a bit too much to handle. His prior owner felt he would appreciate a home where his people were around more and could spend more one-on-one time with him. Cash was said to be kennel-trained but has recently started to break out of it. He was also said to be housebroken and to ride well in a car! He even knows quite a few commands and is eager to show off for a treat! Cash was said to do wonderful with babies and children and was said to be very gentle. He is wary of tall men and appreciates appropriate introductions to get to know new people. Cash was also said to do well with other dogs and cats. However, he was said to have been attacked by another male dog when he was younger so his surrendering owner stated that slow introductions are very important. Cash was also said to enjoy going on long walks and playing fetch. Keeping him both mentally and physically stimulated is key to keeping him healthy, happy, and out of trouble! If you are interested in meeting Cash, please let us know! October 31, 2024, 11:10 pm

Story
Nami (A136240) is a 2-year-old Akita mix who weighed 56.2 pounds on intake! 10/17/24 This pretty girl is Nami! Nami arrived at the shelter as a stray and is now searching for her new home! At the shelter, we noticed that she can be vocal at times but loves to greet everyone. She has done a great job at keeping her kennel clean, indicating that she may already be housebroken! We encourage her next owner to work with a certified trainer to help with her manners and for the added benefit of socialization in a controlled environment! She seems very curious about her doggy neighbors at the shelter, but as her history is unknown with other animals, please ensure you are making appropriate introductions! If you are interested in meeting Nami, please let the shelter know! October 31, 2024, 11:10 pm

Story
Chai (A131556) is a 2-year-old Akita mix who weighed 67.3 pounds on intake! 10/28/24 Chai, who was previously known as Lovely, is back at the shelter and eager to find a home that will suit her needs! Chai was described as a really good and smart girl! She was said to enjoy playing with other dogs but has a rough style of play and prefers male dogs to other females. She was said to not do well with the cats in her last home and would do best in a home without cats or any other small critters. If you do plan on introducing Chai to other animals please ensure you do so in a slow, safe, and controlled environment. It was also recommended that she be fed separately from other animals as she would frequently go after the cat's treats. Chai was said to do very well with children but has no experience with babies or toddlers. Due to her eagerness for food, she may do best in a home without small children, but she may enjoy a home with older, more respectful children. Chai has also been struggling with potty training and is looking for a patient owner who can continue working with her and get her on a set schedule. She would also benefit from working with a certified trainer to continue working on her basic manners and for the added bonus of extra socialization! Once she has mastered that class, she may even enjoy taking additional classes! Chai was known to dig, chew, and get into trash. She is looking for an owner who can keep her stimulated and out of trouble! If you are interested in meeting Chai, please let us know! 07/07/23 This sweet girl is Lovely! We do not have any prior information on how Lovely behaved in her prior home but at the shelter, she has been nothing but lovely (pun intended)! Lovely has done an excellent job at keeping her kennel clean, accident-free, indicating that she is most likely housebroken. She has a friendly playful demeanor toward her neighboring dogs at the shelter. We do not know if she has any prior history with other dogs, cats, or pocket pets. Please ensure with all new animals you are doing slow, safe, and controlled introductions! Lovely is an active breed and is looking for an owner that can be devoted to keeping her not only physically stimulated but also mentally stimulated! If you are interested in meeting Lovely, please let us know!October 31, 2024, 11:10 pm
