Poco is a senior chihuahua seeking a companion for his golden years! He was an owner surrender at a local shelter, and after a couple of weeks of him not receiving any interest, our rescue stepped in so he didn't have to spend any more time in the shelter. He quickly bonded to his foster mom, and enjoys being her shadow 24/7. His favorite thing to do is burrow under blankets on top of her lap. Poco is housetrained, but has had rare instances where he will lift his leg to mark spots in the house. He is neutered, so belly bands would be an option for his adopter if he continues to have this issue. Otherwise, he has not had any accidents when he is crated while his foster family is not home. Poco has not shown any destructive behavior and has been friendly with every person he has met both at the shelter and in foster care. He does get along most of the time with 90lb and 40lb dogs in his foster home, but will growl and go "full chihuahua" on them if they get too close when he is laying with his foster mom. He does not like to share his person, so if you do have other pets, please keep that in mind. Because he is a senior, his adopter should work with their vet to do a full senior workup. However, his recent bloodwork, exam and overall disposition indicate he is in great shape for his age.
