Story
Hello, I am Gucci! I am a young dog ready for a forever home. I am playful, affectionate and loyal. I like going on walks and cuddling up for belly rubs. If there are other dogs in the home, I can be territorial about my food, but otherwise I am very dog friendly. I am a young dog, so I will still need some basic training. If you are interested in adopting me, please go to the Ozzie and Friends website https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org  November 6, 2024, 2:40 pm

Story
Bubba Casanova is a total chubby bubby heartthrob, and an absolute sweet heart. His looks are unmatched and undeniable and he has a personality to match! You can easily compare him to a real life-sized teddy bear and he's super soft like one too! He’s so happy anywhere he goes and when he gets real excited and happy (which is quite often because he’s always happy) you’ll even get to hear him talk about it. Bubba also loves everyone he meets and acts like he has known you his whole life even after only knowing him for 5 seconds. This amazing guy has so much love to give it’s incredible and he’ll be sure to make you smile while he’s loving you. Watch his video and fall in love with this handsome fella's personality: https://youtu.be/iWZjS-wG9u4?si=zIER9zca5DIYsCzO Bubba is a chow mix approximately 3 years old, currently weighs 52 lbs and is a total fluff ball. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. It's a pretty fair assumption, just based off looks alone, Bubba is without a doubt part Chow Chow. This breed flourishes in a home where they receive plenty of love, patience, consistency and structure. We'd be so happy to find adopters who have a little Chow Chow experience under their belt or overall understanding about the breed --- someone who gets their fun, independent, loyal and loving nature. Bubba is dog friendly, walks past other dogs on leash like a gentleman, and has done great with almost all of the dogs we have introduced him to. He joins in on a few play groups a week at our rescue and he will play every now and then with the right dog but for the most part, he’s a mellow guy just enjoying the fresh air and happy to be part of the crew. He does best with aloof medium energy females that are perfectly happy and content hanging out and not the overly playful type. He appreciates when other dogs respect when he’s not in the playing mood and just wants to relax but like stated above, he will play on occasion. Bubba is a vocal guy so don’t be alarmed if you hear his grumbles, he’s just happy and letting everyone know he's happy and having fun. He will also give a verbal correction to other dogs if they do get too pushy with him almost like he’s saying, “alright alright, that’s enough.” If you don't have other dogs, Bubba would be wonderful as your one as only! He is very people oriented and wouldn't mind having all of the attention focused on him. He honestly would probably love it! He also would do best in a home with out any kitty friends. Bubba is a total hambone when it comes to affection, meeting new people, and especially when a treat is involved -- he will look up at you with those big brown puppy dog eyes and 9 times out of 10...he gets exactly what he wants. We can't blame him either, it's hard to resist him. One thing about him that we also love is when he is taking treats or nows a treat is coming his little nose scrunches up in the cutest way. Bubba is very smart and as you can probably already suspect, treat motivated. He already knows how to sit, shake, and walks well on a leash! Making him the perfect companion to take with you to that nature trail you've been wanting to explore. He is also crate trained and potty trained. Bubba is medium energy and could do great in a home with a back yard or even an apartment as long as he gets adequate exercise and stimulation. A simple walk around the neighborhood or play session at the park would be just fine for this guy. He has been around kids ages 4 and 14 and would do best living in a home with older kids. He absolutely loved Sadie, one of our staff members daughter, rolling on his back for belly rubs, leaning on her for affection and doing his happy grumbles that he does. If you watched his video, you'll know exactly what we are talking about. We are willing to test Bubba Casanova with anything you need us to in order to ensure it's a perfect match for you you. We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
