Story
Meet Wooju, a 2-year-old Jindo mix with a handsome white, black, and beige coat, weighing 10.5kg. This sweet boy was rescued in February 2023 along with his three littermates when they were at risk of being sold to a dog farm. Now, he's ready to find a loving home where he can truly shine! Wooju is a friendly pup who enjoys human company and will often approach people with playful affection. However, if someone moves toward him too quickly, he may occasionally shy away. The key to his heart? Treats! He warms up quickly with a little snack and is easy to handle once he feels comfortable. He tends to prefer men over women and, for reasons unknown, doesn’t like being forcibly held—he may whine and try to wiggle away. He hasn’t met kids under 13 yet, but he’s gentle enough to be a good fit. He can be picked up safely and even handles bath time like a champ! When it comes to other dogs, Wooju is pretty independent. He isn’t overly interested in making canine friends but will occasionally engage in play if the mood strikes. However, he prefers to do his own thing and will often wander off on his own after a short play session. He gets along best with dogs of similar size but tends to avoid overly energetic dogs. If they persist too much, he may give a single bark to set boundaries. Despite this, he generally avoids conflict and walks away from any tension. Wooju has never met a cat, but given his personality, he’s likely to be indifferent. A cat test can be arranged if needed. With a moderate energy level, Wooju enjoys outdoor adventures but also values his quiet downtime. After a fun outing, he prefers to retreat to his own space and relax. He enjoys peaceful walks in quiet areas but can be startled by heavy traffic, sudden movements, or loud noises. This polite boy has no food-guarding tendencies with people or dogs, but he does have a hearty appetite! Due to past food scarcity, he may try to eat more than he needs, so portion control will be important. He rarely barks, stays calm when crated, and is overall a well-behaved companion. However, he is prone to motion sickness in cars. Wooju is looking for a home that understands his independent but affectionate nature. If you're searching for a gentle, well-mannered companion who enjoys both outdoor fun and quiet time, Wooju might just be the perfect match! Story
Meet Lisa, a two-year-old Jindo mix with a beautiful white coat and a heart full of love! Weighing in at 12kg, this spayed girl is as affectionate as they come. Lisa is a total lovebug who adores people—whether she knows you or not, she’ll happily trot up for pets and cuddles. She’s the kind of dog who loves climbing into your lap, wrapping her paws around you for a hug, and showering you with kisses. She has no preference when it comes to men or women and is comfortable being picked up. Lisa has even met children under 13 before and was just as sweet and friendly with them, showing off her playful and affectionate side. Once she warms up, she’ll even roll over for belly rubs! When it comes to other dogs, Lisa is a social butterfly. She wants to be friends with every pup she meets, regardless of size! Whether big, small, or somewhere in between, Lisa is always up for a friendly greeting and a play session. Even if another dog plays a little too rough or tries to provoke her, Lisa is the type to simply walk away rather than get into trouble. Lisa currently lives with a cat and coexists peacefully. While she may glance curiously at cats during walks, she doesn’t chase them and will follow your lead without issue. Her energy level is moderate—she enjoys outdoor activities and sniffing around on walks but settles down nicely afterward. She does tend to pull on the leash a bit, but she listens well to her handler and is always excited for an outdoor adventure. Lisa is a polite pup when it comes to food—she has no resource guarding tendencies with people or other dogs. She rarely barks and is currently living in a multi-dog home, where she does just fine being left alone with her furry friends. She’s also crate-trained and remains calm in one, though she finds car rides a little scary and prefers to be carried into the vehicle. Lisa is fully house-trained and does her business outside. Lisa’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. She was rescued from a home in Gwangju, South Korea, that was known for hoarding and abusing stray dogs. When she first arrived at the city pound in June 2024, she looked like she was on the verge of tears, curling up in a corner and avoiding interaction. Despite the harsh conditions, she slowly started to open up. But after three months with no adoption or rescue inquiries, she was placed on the euthanasia list in September. Determined to give Lisa the happy life she deserves, one of the city shelter volunteers stepped in to save her. Now, Lisa is ready for a fresh start—a home where she can finally smile and feel safe. Story
Meet Ben! A 5-year-old Jindo mix weighing 16kg Ben is a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly if you offer him a treat. He gets along exceptionally well with children under 13 and even allows strangers to pick him up. Once he trusts you, he’ll reward you with his signature move—rolling over to show his belly! With other dogs, Ben is generally friendly but cautious. He’s uncomfortable around larger dogs or those with high energy levels but is more relaxed and amicable with dogs his size or smaller. While he doesn’t initiate trouble, Ben might engage if another dog provokes him, particularly dominant males, so introductions to unfamiliar dogs should be supervised. However, he’s mostly indifferent to other dogs unless they’re particularly territorial. Ben isn’t a fan of cats—he gets overly excited when he spots one on walks and tries to chase them, so a cat-free home would be best. His energy level is moderate; he loves outdoor adventures but is content to relax peacefully afterward. When it comes to walks, Ben is calm and steady enough for even seniors or children to handle, though his love for sniffing means he’ll often pause to investigate interesting scents. Ben rarely barks and is well behaved in a crate or car. He does need a little help getting into the vehicle as he’s not quite ready to jump in on his own. Ben is polite with humans around food but may growl if another dog approaches his meal. However, if the other dog stays neutral, so does Ben. He’s fully outdoor potty-trained but may mark in new environments. Once a loyal guardian of a vegetable garden, Ben found himself homeless when the area was redeveloped, but he’s now ready to find his forever family. Story
Meet Mia, the sweetest six-month-old Jindo mix with a stunning black and brown coat! Born on August 7, 2024, this spayed female currently weighs 12kg and is ready to find her forever home. Mia is a social butterfly who adores people—whether familiar faces or complete strangers. She loves to nuzzle up to new friends and is always happy to be petted. She has no preference when it comes to men or women and is even comfortable being picked up and held with arms under her belly. While she hasn’t had the chance to meet children under 13, her gentle nature suggests she would get along well with them. When it comes to other dogs, Mia is just as friendly! She eagerly greets both familiar and unfamiliar pups, inviting them to play. She has a special bond with her sibling, Fiona, often leaning on her for comfort—literally! She even sleeps with her head resting on Fiona. Mia tends to avoid larger dogs if they get too rough and prefers playing with dogs similar in size. However, she’s not too interested in high-energy playmates. Mia has shown curiosity toward cats, sometimes chasing them on walks, but she may be able to live with a resident cat. A compatibility test can be arranged if needed. Her energy level is moderate—she enjoys outdoor activities but settles down nicely afterward. Walks are still a learning experience for her; if she encounters something scary, she may drop flat on the ground. However, with encouragement, she quickly regains her confidence and happily trots along. Mia is well-mannered when it comes to food—she has no resource guarding tendencies with people or other dogs. She is not prone to separation anxiety and primarily does her business outdoors. Mia’s story begins in the small forest, where her mother gave birth to a litter. Sadly, the owner intended to send the puppies to guard field or sell them to a meat farm. Thankfully, Mia and her siblings—Sunny, Tiffany, and Fiona—were rescued before that could happen. Among them, Mia is the gentlest of the bunch. If you’re looking for a loving, sweet-natured companion, Mia might be the perfect match for you! Story
Guksoo is still looking for a loving family He is currently fostered in Barrie, ON. Guksoo is a neutered Jindo mix boy who is about 4 years old.He can be shy at first, but slowly warms up over time, and tends to trust women more than men. Deep down he loves people and wants to be with them all the time! When he first came into his foster home, he was very shy but would timidly ask for pets by slowly pawing at the humans. Now, he has become more social and will come up to strangers with a wagging tail to ask for pets and treats! He still continues to paw at his foster parents when he wants attention, and loves to snuggle and give kisses first thing in the morning. He is okay and gentle with kids, but can be startled by sudden movements. After some time, good food, and lots of walks, he will open up and give you lots of kisses and hugs When it comes to other dogs, Guksoo LOVES to play! And especially loves girl dogs. He loves to run and play with his doggy friends and is excited to play with both new and familiar friends. With his foster sibling, he loves to groom her and give her lots of kisses. However, he is still learning that not all dogs like to play, especially on leash, and he can get a bit frustrated when he sees another dog on a walk that he cant say hi to. He is learning how to be neutral to other dogs while walking and responds well to his handler. He has a medium energy level, he loves going for walks and exploring, and rests well once at home. He has a low prey drive and ignores cats when he meets them while on walks, but sometimes likes to chase birds and squirrels. He is currently fostered with bunnies and lived with a cat for a short time, he is very gentle with them and leaves them alone after a quick sniff. On walks, Guksoo can be a bit excited at first but will eventually relax and walk by his handler’s side, occasionally stopping to sniff. He rarely pulls unless he sees another dog or a small animal but is easily redirected. He is fully potty trained outdoors. Guksoo Rarely barks, only when a stranger knocks on the door or if something new startles him. He has no destructive behaviours and can be left alone in the home without any issues. He loves to chew and enjoys playing with his chew toys or a long lasting treat.  Will you welcome this sweet boy into your family?
