Story
Hello everyone. My name is Kaila and here is a little info about me: Breed: Jindo/German Shepherd MixAge: 2 yearsGender: Female    Weight: 44 lbHeight:  57 cmHighlight(s): Good with other dogs, rarely barks In February 2022, I found myself in a city pound as a stray, along with my Shepherd mom and two siblings. While they were lucky enough to find their forever homes, I was left behind, feeling a little lonely. But hey, that's all in the past now because I'm ready to find my own loving family! I must admit, I can be a bit shy when I first meet new people. But if you approach me gently, I'll warm up to you quickly. I even enjoy being petted and lifted once I feel comfortable. Treats? Oh, I love them! I'll happily take them from your hands. However, if I'm feeling too nervous, I might pass on the treats for now. It's all about finding that balance, you know? Guess what? I had the pleasure of meeting a two-year-old human boy once. He whined a lot, but you know what? I was super patient with him. I understand that little ones can be full of energy and noise, and I'm more than happy to be a calm and gentle companion for them. When it comes to meeting new dogs, I have different approaches. Sometimes, I'm all about play and will actively approach them, ready for some fun. Other times, I prefer to just say a quick hello and then mind my own business. It really depends on my mood. Oh, and when I visit a dog park for the first time, I might feel a bit overwhelmed. In those moments, I'd love to find a cozy corner where I can feel safe and secure. Now, let's talk about cats. I've encountered a few stray cats during our walks, and I must admit, they make me a little nervous. I prefer to keep my distance and just sniff them indirectly. I'm still learning to be more comfortable around them, but for now, I'll stick to walking with my handler and exploring the world together. I have a moderate energy level - at a lower side. At home, I'm a pretty calm and relaxed pup. I love to chill out and take naps. In fact, I've already found my favorite spot under the desk, and that's where I like to set up my comfort zone. When my handler puts me on a leash, I'm a good girl and follow her lead. During walks, I can still be a bit tense and timid. You might notice that I tuck my tail most of the time. But don't worry, I'm learning to trust and feel more at ease. I walk well on a leash and won't pull you around. Now, car rides are a bit of a challenge for me. I tend to get carsick and vomit, but I'm getting better at it. Short drives are becoming easier for me, and I'm hopeful that with time, I'll overcome this little hurdle. Oh, and did I mention that I'm pretty independent? I can jump into a car all by myself, and I'm totally okay with being brushed. Baths? No problem! I tolerate them well. Now, let's talk about food. I have a healthy appetite, but I do get a bit uncomfortable when people get too close while I'm eating. It's just a little quirk of mine, but with some patience and understanding, I'm sure we can work through it together. So, if you're looking for a sweet and gentle companion who's still learning to navigate the world, I'm your girl! I may have had a rough start, but I'm ready to find my forever home where I can feel safe, loved, and cherished. If you think we could be a perfect match, please reach out and let's start this beautiful journey together.  I get along with:Dogs: yesCats: yesKids: yes   Fears: Unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training: Yes, Leash and crate trainedLeash skills: Yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes. Please be prepared to help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes: I have been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. ##1830305##

Story
Hello there! My name is Aleck, and I have an incredible story to share with you. Rescued from a dog meat farm in South Korea in 2021, I narrowly escaped a life of unimaginable hardship. Now, I'm ready to embark on a new chapter filled with love, joy, and endless tail wags. Here's a little more about me: Breed: Jindo mixAge: 5 yearsGender: male    Weight: 51 lbHighlight(s): Calm, Happy, Rarely Bark Despite the challenges I've faced in the past, my heart is full of love for humans. I'm a social pup who isn't shy around strangers - in fact, I quickly warm up to new faces and love making new friends. Even at the vet, I approached the nurses with confidence, eagerly accepting treats and showing off my friendly personality. I've been staying in a foster home since last March, and let me tell you, I've settled into home life perfectly. I'm completely house-trained and have no issues with separation anxiety. When my foster mom goes to work, I patiently wait for her to come back so we can go on our walks and have fun together. Whether it's a cozy condo or a spacious house, I know I'll fit right in and make myself at home. I get along well with other dogs, especially with gentle female pups. While I may be a bit reserved around male dogs, I'm friendly and enjoy saying hi and sharing space with my furry friends. I'm not much of a wrestler, but I love exploring the world and going for walks. I get so excited about our outdoor adventures that I voluntarily hop into the car because I know it means more fun times ahead. Recently, I even got to dip my paws into the sea water for the first time - what a thrilling experience! I do have a strong prey drive, so it's important to keep me leashed and away from cats, squirrels, and bunnies during our walks to keep everyone safe. I'm looking for a loving and understanding forever home where I can continue to heal and thrive. If you're an experienced pet owner who can provide a secure environment and help me manage my prey drive, I think we could be the perfect match. Let's shower each other with affection and create lasting memories together. I can't wait to find my forever family - could it be with you? Let's find out! Energy Level: I have a moderate energy level. I'm very calm at home. I like to chill out or take a nap. It doesn't mean I don't like walks. I love walks! I'm not nervous in new areas. I'm curious and adventurous. I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: No Kids: Yes Fears: Unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. I haven't shown any signs of separation anxiety and I don't have escape tendency. Leash skills: Yes. Story
**update** I'm currently being fostered in LA, California  ** Hello everyone. My name is Sweetie and here is a little info about me: Breed: Jindo mixAge: 5 yearsGender: Female    Weight: 36 lbHeight: 49 cmHighlight(s): Good with other dogs, not scared of strangers, no escape tendency, no separation anxiety Found lokced up in a rusty and filty wire cage in South Korea, all I was given was food waste. I was very skinny and looked lifeless when my amazing rescuing saved me.  From the very beginning, I was very friendly to humans and a very cheerful girl. You may find me a bit shy at first but I am very submissive to humans and would allow you to pet me and even lift me if you take the time and do it slowly. Once I completely open up to you, I'll be even more comfortable with pets and scratches. Car rides are not my favorite thing as I could feel very car sick and start drooling a lot.  My energy level is moderate and I enjoy outdoor activites and like to rest/calm at home after walks. At the dog parks, you will find me focused more on sniffing here and there and minding my own business rather than trying to play with new friends. However, I do gently say hi to my new dog friends at the park but I will quickly run away and continue my sniffing adventure.  Rarely will I bark at home, even when I'm left alone. I'm also crate trained and 90% hourse trained.   You will see I am friendly, cheerful & calm with no resource guarding issues toward humans or other dogs. I have only shown aggression to one dog among 30-40 dogs. During walks, I look very happy and confident. I follow my handler pretty well while enjoy sniffing here and there. Passing cars don't scare me and I'm not afraid of pedestrians, indeed I like approach people and say hi. After I finish peeing, I love kicking my back legs while looking really happy.  Energy Level: Moderate I get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown / I have never met a cat!Kids: yes Fears: Unknown/none observed. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. Hello everyone. My name is Haidi and here is a little info about me: Breed: Jindo mixAge: 5 yearsGender: Female    Weight: 43 lbHeight: 48 cmHighlight(s): Calm, Happy, rarely bark It was the end of November 2021 when I was rescued from a dog meat farm and slaughter house. Before rescued, I was tied up to a heavy metal chain and forced to watch other dogs being slaughtered. I was immensely shocked. I was too scared. I ate my puppies as soon as I gave birth to them. After rescued, my rescuer weighed the metal chain. It was 1.7kg!!!  When my rescuer removed my old collar, my skin around the neck was peeled off. I love all nice human friends. When they pet me, I feel so good. I hope it never ends. My rescuer said my smile is my best feature. I'm not very interested in playing with new dogs. I tend to briefly say hi and mind my own businesses. I'm a bit jealous when another dog is getting attention from my person. My appetite is high, with no resource guarding issues towards people but I can growl at other dogs if they come close. Best to feed me separately. I haven't shown any signs of separation anxiety, no car sickness and I rarely bark.                                        A year ago, I showed aggression to 3 dogs among 70-80 dogs. I don't remember why I did that and nobody saw the moment. After I spent a lot of time around other dogs, I'm more comfortable around other dogs. Even though I've been doing well around other dogs, my handler thinks I'd be better in home that I'd be the only dog.  Energy Level: I have a low energy level. I enjoy outdoor activities and like to rest/calm at home after walks.  At a dog park, I don't like running. I walk around and after a while, I'd like to lie down and take a rest. During walks, I'm quite confident and curious. I'm  not scared of passing cars, buses, and trucks.I'm very good at jumping into a car. I get along with:Dogs: yes but a home that I can be the only dog and get all the attention is preferred Cats: Unsure as I haven't met a cat yet. Kids: yes Fears: Unknown/none observed. ✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to Vancouver & Toronto💟 Meet Andy💖 Andy was staying at Gimje City shelter with her mom Yua and her four siblings. Maybe because of Yua's bad skin condition, the puppies' health had been deteriorated and some were died. Adogs urgently rescued them before the harsh cold winter comes. * With People: Is not shy and loves people so much! Tries to be with a familiar person and asks to play with. Is such a playful cute girl.❣️ * With Dogs: Has n'ot met dogs in the foster home because her vaccinations are not finished. * Separation Anxiety: Goes to bed after howling a few minutesHas never been alone. Gets up after sleeping but howls a bit and then goes to bed again shortly. * Potty Training: Is a smart puppy to use a pee pad very well. * Hygiene: Doesn't like bathing and brushing but takes it gently. \ * As a puppy, he may need training in areas such as separation anxiety, potty habits, biting, nipping, whining, disorderly behaviors, howling and barking. * It is difficult to predict shedding and growth size because his parents are unknown. * Learned the commands such as 'Paw', 'Hi-five', and 'Wait'. 💙 Foster's Instagram: @imbo_andy

Thank you for interested in adopting Buddy. Please know that Buddy is an international rescue. When your application is approved, you will need to pick him up from the airport - such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, ONT, IAH, YVR etc. International adoption is not a complicated process, and we have extensive experience with it. We would be happy to explain how it works to you. Buddy is not a high-energy dog and enjoys taking slow walks, taking time to observe and sniff his surroundings. When he was a puppy, he was small and weak, and was often bullied by his siblings. This has made him nervous around other dogs, especially if they try to dominate him or have high energy levels that may annoy him. However, once he becomes friends with another dog, he gets along very well. He spent a long time in a shelter, so he lacks socialization skills, but he is gentle and friendly once he becomes comfortable with people and other dogs. Currently, he is undergoing socialization training. Buddy has not met any children yet, but he is generally calm and good with people. His foster believes that he would be calm and friendly with children as well. Buddy is nervous but remains calm when crated. He behaves well when left alone at home. He is currently undergoing leash training, and when he gets scared during walks, he leans on the person next to him for protection. Buddy is cautious when introduced to new food, often rubbing it on his body before eating it. However, after trying it one or two times, he becomes accustomed to it. Due to his lack of various experiences, he may get scared easily, but he is also good at overcoming his fears. If you're interested in adopting Buddy, please feel free to contact us for more information. Thank you.

Thank you for interested in adopting Chewy. Please know that Chewy is an international rescue. When your application is approved, you will need to pick him up from the airport - such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, ONT, IAH, etc. International adoption is not a complicated process and we‘ve done the process many years. We would be happy to explain to you how the process works. Rescue story: The rescuer feeds some stray dogs far away from her home and she found a mama dog with 4 puppies. She was not able to help them but only could give them enough food to survive. One day, one of the puppies voluntarily came close to the rescuer and when she held the puppy, she found the puppy was covered by ticks and fleas and was in a very bad condition. The rescuer decided to find all of the dogs and was able to capture the mama dog and the rest 3 puppies. Chewy is very friendly with all dogs and is affectionate towards people. She likes to have close relationships with people. She loves taking walks and being outdoor. She is good on leash withouth pulling. At first, she pulled a little from being excited but now she is very good and follows the foster gently. She sometimes become stubborn at some points she wants to sniff but overall, she is very good on leash! She doesn’t have a guarding behavior and waits very well for her turn during the treat time. She is 100% outdoor potty trained and never made a mistake.

**About Rita:** Thank you for interested in adopting Rita. Please know that Rita is an international rescue through South Korea. When your application is approved, you will need to pick her up from the airport - such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, ONT, IAH, etc. International adoption is not a complicated process and we‘ve done the process many years. We would be happy to explain to you how the process works. Rita enjoys her alone time but can also be active and playful. She loves people and is affectionate and intelligent. While she can be timid initially, her curiosity allows her to get along well with other dogs. Rita is friendly and eager to greet new people. During a recent outing to a shop, she approached everyone she encountered with good manners and curiosity, making a positive impression. Both Chico and Rita may appear timid in completely new environments, but they adapt quickly and get along well. Their initial shyness doesn’t reflect sensitivity or pickiness. +Dog: She gets along well with other dogs. +Cat: She often encounters cats near the house. Rita usually watches them quietly, occasionally barks, and then quickly runs back inside. +Kids: Rita gets along very well with children (ages 10 and 18). +Housebroken: She is 100% outdoor potty-trained, going twice in the morning and once in the afternoon. On rainy days, she uses indoor pads perfectly. +Ok in kennel: She uses crates frequently especially when she goes to sleep. +Ok on leash: Rita walks well on a leash and is easy to control. She loves other dogs but can be a little shy at first, lowering her tail when approaching them. Once comfortable, she wags her tail and happily engages. Her friendliness shines through once she’s adjusted. +Barker or Separation anxiety: Rita does well alone. She only whines when she needs to go outside or if she wants to express that she needs to poop. She doesn’t bark much and is rather a quiet dog usually. +Behavioral issues (food aggression, leash reactivity, etc): Rita does not guard food, toys, or other items. She loves it when people play with her toys and patiently waits for treats when told. She knows commands like "wait" and "no," and responds well. Occasionally, she hides treats in cushions and retrieves them later. +Car rides: Rita enjoys car rides and travels well without any issues. If you’re interested in adopting Rita please don’t hesitate to contact us for more details. We’d be more than happy to help! Rita is ready for her forever sweet home.
