Story
Meet Haedam, a charming 1-2-year-old neutered male Jindo mix with a soft beige coat and a heart as warm as his fur! Weighing 10kg, this affectionate pup is an absolute sweetheart who adores people—whether they’re familiar faces or total strangers. Haedam is happy to receive pets, cuddles, and even kisses from just about anyone. He greets both men and women with equal enthusiasm, and while he hasn’t met young children under 13, we’re confident he’d make a wonderful friend to them as well. He’s so trusting that he’ll even let you scoop him up and carry him in your arms, belly rubs included! Haedam is just as social with other dogs as he is with people. He eagerly approaches new canine friends with a wagging tail and an invitation to play—sometimes a little too eagerly! His persistent friendliness can be a bit much for shy or reserved dogs, so some introductions may need a bit of guidance. He gets along with dogs of all sizes and enjoys high-energy playmates, but if another dog challenges him, he won’t back down. For this reason, careful supervision is recommended during first-time meetings with unfamiliar dogs. When it comes to small animals, Haedam is curious but not fixated. If he spots a cat on a walk, he might pause to observe, but he’s easy to redirect and follows his human’s lead without issue. A cat test can be arranged if needed. Haedam has a moderate energy level—he loves outdoor activities but also knows how to relax once playtime is over. On walks, he’s generally well-behaved on a leash, though he has a habit of turning to make eye contact with his handler while walking, as if checking in. He might even do a little spin out of excitement when you meet his gaze! His strong bond with people suggests he may have had some off-leash experience in the past. Luckily, he’s not overly sensitive to sudden movements or loud noises, making him an easy walking companion, even for first-time dog owners. Food-wise, Haedam has excellent manners with people and doesn’t guard his meals. However, he does get a little possessive around other dogs when it comes to his food bowl. While he won’t start fights, he may let out a small growl or engage in minor scuffles if another dog tries to take his meal. He occasionally barks when he wants something, but overall, he’s well-mannered. He’s crate-trained and settles down quietly, but car rides are a challenge—he drools excessively and experiences motion sickness. He primarily prefers to do his business outdoors and would thrive in both single-dog and multi-dog households. Haedam’s journey to safety is just as special as he is. He was first spotted at a company in Gimpo, where he spent a weekend happily playing with the business owner’s dogs. Unfortunately, he was reported as a stray and ended up in a shelter, where he faced euthanasia after his 10-day holding period expired. Despite multiple pleas for help, no rescue groups were able to take him in—until AKR stepped in and gave him a second chance. Now, Haedam is ready to find his forever home, where he can share his boundless love and joyful spirit with the perfect family! Story
Anne is looking for a forever home She is great with people! Although she hasn’t been tested with kids, she would probably be ok with them. She is good with other dogs, but doesn’t have much interest in playing. And while she’s ok with cats, she may be hesitant if it hisses at her. She has no aggression at all and no prey drive, and is overall very sweet. A generally quiet girl, she may bark to ask for more treats She loves being petted and has a medium energy level. She is leash trained, crate trained and house trained. She has no destructive or possessive behaviours. Anne was found on the street and sent to a kill shelter with her sister Merry. Story
Meet Sogum, a gentle and affectionate 5-year-old spayed female Jindo mix with a striking black-and-white coat, weighing 16kg. Sogum’s journey hasn’t been easy—she was rescued from a shelter in Gapyeong after being found wandering near a house. Her teeth show significant wear, likely from chewing on cage bars during her time at meat farm, but her resilience and loving nature shine through. Sogum is a people-loving sweetheart with a magnetic personality. She adores snuggling and will happily lean into anyone she meets, even strangers, asking for pets and affection. She doesn’t have a shy bone in her body and greets both men and women with equal enthusiasm. While she hasn’t interacted with children under 13, her gentle nature suggests she’d do well with them. Sogum is also comfortable being picked up, making her easy to handle. Sogum is just as friendly with other dogs as she is with people. She greets unfamiliar dogs warmly and enjoys playing calmly with dogs of all sizes. While she’s happy to make new canine friends, she tends to rely more on her humans for comfort and connection. Even if another dog gets pushy, Sogum simply moves away to keep the peace. Sogum’s reaction to cats hasn’t been observed yet, so her compatibility with feline friends is unknown. With a balanced energy level, Sogum loves outdoor adventures and walks but is equally content to relax quietly afterward. She’s an excellent walking companion, moving at a steady pace and staying right by her person’s side without pulling. She’s unfazed by cars or other loud noises, making her calm and reliable during walks. This sweet girl has impeccable manners. She doesn’t guard her food, rarely barks, and even welcomes strangers without hesitation. Sogum is quiet and composed in a kennel and prefers outdoor potty breaks. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who will shower you with love and loyalty, Sogum might just be the perfect fit for your family. Story
Guksoo is still looking for a loving family He is currently fostered in Barrie, ON. Guksoo is a neutered Jindo mix boy who is about 4 years old.He can be shy at first, but slowly warms up over time, and tends to trust women more than men. Deep down he loves people and wants to be with them all the time! When he first came into his foster home, he was very shy but would timidly ask for pets by slowly pawing at the humans. Now, he has become more social and will come up to strangers with a wagging tail to ask for pets and treats! He still continues to paw at his foster parents when he wants attention, and loves to snuggle and give kisses first thing in the morning. He is okay and gentle with kids, but can be startled by sudden movements. After some time, good food, and lots of walks, he will open up and give you lots of kisses and hugs When it comes to other dogs, Guksoo LOVES to play! And especially loves girl dogs. He loves to run and play with his doggy friends and is excited to play with both new and familiar friends. With his foster sibling, he loves to groom her and give her lots of kisses. However, he is still learning that not all dogs like to play, especially on leash, and he can get a bit frustrated when he sees another dog on a walk that he cant say hi to. He is learning how to be neutral to other dogs while walking and responds well to his handler. He has a medium energy level, he loves going for walks and exploring, and rests well once at home. He has a low prey drive and ignores cats when he meets them while on walks, but sometimes likes to chase birds and squirrels. He is currently fostered with bunnies and lived with a cat for a short time, he is very gentle with them and leaves them alone after a quick sniff. On walks, Guksoo can be a bit excited at first but will eventually relax and walk by his handler’s side, occasionally stopping to sniff. He rarely pulls unless he sees another dog or a small animal but is easily redirected. He is fully potty trained outdoors. Guksoo Rarely barks, only when a stranger knocks on the door or if something new startles him. He has no destructive behaviours and can be left alone in the home without any issues. He loves to chew and enjoys playing with his chew toys or a long lasting treat.  Will you welcome this sweet boy into your family? Story
Meet Lily, a four-year-old, spayed Jindo mix girl with a beautiful yellow coat and a solid 20kg frame. Lily is a sweet, timid girl who needs a gentle and patient companion to bring out her best self. She’s not one for forced interactions or being picked up, as these situations can overwhelm her. While she has no aggression whatsoever, her go-to response when afraid is to avoid and retreat. A calm and understanding adopter who enjoys the process of building trust—perhaps with treats and positive reinforcement—would be the perfect match for her. Lily tends to freeze up if strangers try to touch her, though she tolerates it without protest. She’s not naturally outgoing, but her subtle displays of affection, like a wagging tail in the morning to greet her primary caregiver, are incredibly rewarding. While she’s okay with being petted and even kissed, she doesn’t actively seek attention and may show slight discomfort. Because of her sensitivity, Lily would not do well in a home with young children, as their unpredictable movements and rough handling might stress her out. When it comes to other dogs, Lily can be selective. She may engage in conflict if another dog provokes her or if they’re overly excitable or nervous. She’s best introduced to new canine friends carefully, as she prefers to avoid greetings with unfamiliar dogs during walks. Despite this, she has no issues sharing space with compatible, calm dogs. While she has no resource guarding issues with humans, she may growl if another dog approaches her food. Outdoorsy adopters will be thrilled to know that Lily is a seasoned walker who loves hiking and exploring nature. She walks beautifully on the leash without pulling and has a balanced energy level—active and engaged outdoors but calm and relaxed at home after a good outing. Lily’s also a great travel companion. She’s a pro in the car, calmly riding in a kennel or hopping in and out of vehicles on her own with just a little guidance. She’s mostly an outdoor potty dog and is easy to manage in this regard. With her gentle demeanor, hiking-ready attitude, and polite leash manners, Lily is ready to be a loyal companion to someone who will appreciate her subtle charm and respect her boundaries.
