Story
*SPECIAL NEEDS* This is Jonah, a most handsome 2 year old Seal Point Siamese mix male. Jonah was living as a stray outside at an apartment complex. He and some of his good buddies were being fed by a good Samaritan. The lady that fed him thought he was too nice to be living outdoors, so she contacted NBCR for help finding Jonah a home. We are very glad she did! Jonah is extremely shy when you first meet him, but he gradually warms up to you and enjoys getting pets and ear rubs, and will purr in gratitude. He sure seems to like life on the inside, with a steady supply of food and naps. Jonah has tested positive for both the FIV and feline leukemia virus. Both are viruses that can impact longevity, mainly the leukemia virus. To be clear, he does not have leukemia, but carries the virus that may cause cancer in the future. Cats with this virus generally don't live a long life, maybe up to 5-6 years, although we've known a few cats that have lived to be 8 years old. (Please see links below for more resources.) Jonah is currently healthy and feeling well, and had no problem recovering from his neuter surgery or receiving vaccinations. He doesn't currently require any medication and, for the foreseeable future, should be able to live life just like a regular cat. He's a good-natured boy that take it all in stride! Jonah is microchipped and currently in a foster home. His adoption fee is $105.
