Story
Kane | 4yo | Terrier/Schnauzer mix • Neutered male • 6 kg | 30 cm (shoulder height) • Grey / Brown coat • Medium energy Rescue Story   Kane was rescued from a city shelter euthanasia list in November 2023. He spent nearly two years in a private shelter before finally moving to a foster home in early December. Since entering foster care, Kane has been steadily gaining confidence and showing his true personality.   ‍ Human Socialization   Kane is generally friendly with people and not overly shy, though he can become cautious when he feels tense in new situations. Thanks to his affectionate and gentle nature, he warms up quickly. When he first arrived at his foster home, it took about two days for him to bond with his foster mom, and he now happily follows her around.   He currently lives with 3- and 5-year-old children. While he coexists well with them and can go on walks with children, he doesn’t actively seek out attention from kids. Kane is comfortable being picked up with an arm under his belly, and once bonded, he often shows his belly as a sign of trust.   Dog Socialization   Kane is social with both familiar and unfamiliar dogs and often approaches politely to greet and invite play. He is not fearful of larger dogs but tends to be more comfortable with dogs closer to his own size. He prefers calm or moderate-energy dogs and may feel overwhelmed by very high-energy play styles. Even if another dog provokes him, Kane does not react aggressively.   Cats   Kane has not lived with cats. On walks, he may look at cats with curiosity, but he responds well to handler guidance and follows along without issue.   Energy Level   Kane has a moderate energy level. He enjoys outdoor activities and walks, but once home, he settles nicely and rests calmly.   ‍ Walks   Kane was initially unsure about walks, but with daily practice in foster care, his confidence has improved greatly. He now enjoys walking and does best when leashed, even with people he doesn’t know well. Interestingly, when off-leash, he tends to ignore people more and is less responsive.   Additional Notes   • No food guarding with people or dogs • Generally quiet and not vocal • Calm and well-mannered in a crate • Currently potty trained for outdoor elimination   Kane is a gentle, affectionate boy who has waited a long time for his chance at a real home. With patience and love, he will make a wonderful companion. Apply to adopt or foster https://adoptmekr.org Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram. Story
**Now fostered in Truxton, NY** If you are looking for a tiny queen with a spunky personality and amazing agility skills, then look no further than our bitty friend, Bambi! We believe Bambi is a chihuahua mix who is 5 years old and approximately 25 pounds. Due to her being a rescue, age and breed cannot be guaranteed. She’s a certified Texas Special, a mix of random breeds that created the best dog! Rescue is the best breed! Watch Bambi in action in here: https://youtu.be/2_n3tL3izY8?si=2MCNVAV5GmXcfkav So one thing about Bambi is that she is QUEEN B. She likes all the love and affection to go straight to her. Belly rubs? Hers. Ear scratches? Hers. Treats? All hers! Bambi is dog friendly and loves to play! She's all about play wrestling, play chase with her dog friends around the yard, and bringing bouncy fun playful energy to the yard. Whether she's tumbling with a buddy or zooming across the grass in a bouncy game of tag you're it, she's happiest when the vibes are silly and all about that fun. Some of her best friends are confident dogs that will rough house with, body bump, wrestle to the ground, and it's so entertaining to watch. In a home, she would do best with a confident friend that loves to play, enjoys those wrestling matches, is up for a game of chase, and knows when to take play breaks on their own. So if you're searching for a pup that will satisfy your current dog's playful energy and wanting that playtime entertainment in the backyard, Bambi is definitely your gal. If you don't have other dogs, no need to worry! Bambi's love is boundless and her personality is out of this world that she will be all you need. Bambi also did great when she met some cats on the property! She wanted to sniff them and tried to initiate play, lol. If she were to be in a home with a cat, it would definitely need to be a dog savvy feline who doesn’t mind the occasional puppy sniffs! She spent few days in her temporary foster home with a kitty and she did wonderfully! She did want to play with her new feline friend, so Bambi may not be every kitties cup of tea. But she sure is ours! She is a smaller girl who would do well in an apartment or house setting. But it’s important to note that when you offer her treats, she does say “please” in a loud way. So if you are in an apartment, thicker walls or cool neighbors would be best. She hasn’t been around small children but she has been fine around teens! We believe she would do well in a home with dog savvy older children who would enjoy spending time playing fetch and other games with her! If you have a young child and are curious to know how she is, please feel free to let us know and we will check it out for you! It’s very clear that Bambi is a super smart girl! She has the potential to do so many cool things if you spend the time to try to teach her! The staff at 3lp couldn’t stop raving about how people oriented she is! We can’t forget to tell you— the other cool thing about Bambi is how quick she is at learning tricks! The behavior team here at Three Little Pitties believes that she would make an excellent dog to train for trick sports and other cool games! You will see in her video how good she is at going after toys! She is very affectionate and will look forward to couch cuddling moments with you! She has the best little smile and the most scratchable ears! She is going to make someone out there very happy! Does Bambi sound like your girl? We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Story
Penne is a 10 year old Jack Russell mix with the laziest temperament. She’s the sweetest girl who has nothing but love to give…to humans. Penne is NOT a fan of other dogs and needs to be the only dog in a home. She would love for you to be home with her often and is a great work from home companion. She spends most of the day sleeping. Penne does have a history of thyroid cancer that was treated in 2018 and now has a suspected enlargement of her thyroid but she’s had it for over a year and there has been no change in it so the vet thinks it’s unlikely to cause any major problems. This dog LOVES her people with all her heart and we are heartbroken that we cannot keep her but she is miserable with a second dog who moved in to the home a year ago. She’s housebroken, knows basic commands, and loves to learn. She will come with a kennel and her favorite toys. If you want a dog who will be overjoyed every single time you walk into a room, Penne is your gal.

Good with dogs,
Story
I’m a small Jack Russell Terrier mix girl, weighing about 6kg. I may be tiny, but my heart is incredibly big. My sister and I were rescued after wandering the streets at a very young age. Even though life was tough in the beginning, I never let it take away my bright spirit or my warm, loving nature. I love other dogs and make friends easily. Meeting new furry buddies is one of my favorite things, and I’m always gentle and friendly. I adore people even more — if our eyes meet, my tail starts wagging before I can even think about it! I just can’t help wanting to be close to you. I’m also a great walking companion. I match your pace beautifully and enjoy taking in the world around me with calm curiosity. Walks with me are peaceful, happy moments. I’m still a puppy, so I’m learning my potty manners at home. But don’t worry — I’m smart, eager to please, and I pay close attention to my humans. With a bit of consistency and love, I’ll learn quickly. Above all, I’m a little girl who loves giving and receiving affection. My heart is warm, soft, and ready to belong to someone special. I’m waiting patiently — and hopefully — for my first and forever family. If you can give a small life like me a warm home and endless love, I promise to give you all of my heart in return. 💛 With love, Seri 🐶💕

Story
🏠 Currently in a Vancouver foster home I’m a small Jack Russell Terrier mix girl, around 6kg, with a beautiful leopard-patterned coat that everyone says is super charming. I was rescued while wandering the streets with my sister Seri, but even after all that, I’ve grown into one of the happiest, warmest little puppies you’ll ever meet. I get along wonderfully with other dogs and adjust quickly to new places and new friends. I’m very affectionate with people, too — call my name and I’ll run right over, or I might quietly tuck myself right beside your leg, just wanting to be close. Walks are my absolute favorite! I’m full of curiosity, so I love sniffing around, exploring new sights, and enjoying every moment outside. Even with all my excitement, I don’t pull or rush ahead, so walking with me is always pleasant and easy. Since I’m still a puppy, I’m learning my potty training skills, but I’m smart and quick to pick things up — I’ll get the hang of it with gentle, consistent teaching. I may be small, but I have a big, warm presence that melts hearts the moment you meet me. I’m waiting for the family who will love me forever and let me share my bright, curious energy with them. If you can give a cozy, loving home to a little girl full of wonder and affection, I’ll give you all the love in my tiny body in return. 💛 With love, Nerie 🐶✨

Story
Meet Vanilla   Name: Vanilla Age: 6 years Sex: Spayed Female Breed: Terrier mix Color: Beige/White Weight: 5kg Height (shoulder): 23cm   Her Rescue Story   Vanilla was found in a temple parking lot in late August 2025 and brought to a city shelter. Despite being gentle and calm, she was placed on the euthanasia list — but was thankfully rescued just in time. Now she’s safe, cherished, and waiting for a loving family.   ‍‍ Social with People   Vanilla is quiet, calm, careful, and incredibly gentle. When called, she approaches slowly, lies down, and shows her belly. She allows handling, being picked up, and enjoys quiet affection. She’s still a bit unsure around men, but has no avoidance or fear reactions. She is expected to do well with children under 13 due to her soft temperament.   Social with Dogs   Vanilla minds her own business and rarely engages other dogs. She tends to be intimidated by larger dogs and will politely move away. Even when getting attention from humans, she may relocate if other dogs crowd around. She currently doesn’t initiate play, but may become more confident once settled in a home.   With Cats   Likely to be fearful — cat testing can be arranged if needed   Energy Level   Low — she enjoys resting, relaxing, and peaceful indoor life. Perfect for a calm, cozy household.   Walks   She walks well and follows her handler, frequently checking in for reassurance. She enjoys quiet areas but may stop or hesitate in busy streets with heavy traffic. With patience and encouragement, she’ll continue to build confidence outside.   Other Notes   No resource guarding — toward people or dogs No separation anxiety No barking Calm & comfortable in a kennel/crate Currently potty trained outdoors   Ideal Home   A relaxed, quiet home with gentle humans who will offer patience, comfort, and security. She’s the perfect companion for someone seeking a peaceful, loving, low-energy dog.   If Vanilla sounds like the perfect match for your family, we’d love to hear from you!
