Boots is currently on a special diet to help manage his skin and digestive health—and he’ll need to stick with it in his forever home. He’s also heartworm positive, but don’t worry—he’s already received his ProHeart-12 injection and is undergoing treatment. A recheck in nine months will make sure he’s on track to recovery. Boots McGee is a quirky little guy who takes his time warming up to new people, but once he knows you, he’s loyal, sweet, and full of love. He’s not a fan of other animals—he has a high prey drive and would do best as the only pet in a calm, adult-only home where he can truly thrive. He isn’t house-trained yet and could use some help with leash manners, but he’s food-motivated and eager to bond with his person. His ideal match? Rescued Blaze 3 months ago from the shelter. I was told that he is 2 years old. He is very shy and takes some time warming up. I have come to find out that he was raised with cats so he is very quiet and likes to do his own thing. If you are looking at him, he will freeze. He enjoys being in his crate and getting his ears rubbed but takes a lot of coercion and treats to listen to commands. He lovessss outside, he turns into the energizer bunny.
