Meet Laertes! He is estimated to be 8 months old. Laertes was born on the streets of San Antonio. Unfortunately, as a puppy him and his sister were picked up by the wrong person. The beginning of his life was a cage. He was met with aggression for being a playful puppy, he never had a schedule, or a person to trust. Laertes is an incredibly brave boy. He entered the rescue world on 03.07.26. He has been fully vaccinated and started on preventions. Thankfully his want for human affection is still present, he just needs a second to warm up. Laertes has so much life to live and we cannot wait to get him into a loving home! Could it be yours?

Meet old lady Rhoda! Rhoda is estimated to be 9 years old. She was found on the side of a busy highway hopping around like she'd been wandering for quite awhile. She was filthy, covered in fleas and ticks. She happily let us bathe her and get her all settled into a safe space. Rhoda has been vetted, current on all of her vaccines. She is heartworm positive and is undergoing slow kill treatment for it because of her age. Rhoda is dog, cat, and people friendly of all ages! She is leash trained and potty trained. We think Rhoda would thrive in a calm home environment. She doesn't require much, just a comfy bed to sleep on and lots and lots of belly rubs. This little girl was found starving and living on the streets. Her finding angel was scared she was going to be hit by a car. They picked her up and searched for her family. She was in obviousgu need of veterinary care. She was absolute skin and bones. She certainly isn't chunky now but she has gained enough weight to be deemed healthy enough to be spayed and vaccinated. She is a very happy little girl despite the rough life she has had so far. She appears to be just about a year old and is under 10 pounds. She has such a happy spirit! We would love for her to find a family that will love her and treat her like the treasure we know she is!

George was a stray that found his way into someone’s backyard. They didn’t know how he got in but they were determined to keep him in. They were unsuccessful. They tried to fix their fence to keep him in but he kept finding ways to escape. Finally they decided he wasn’t a good fit for them. George wanted to be an inside dog! He wants to be a part of the family. He wants to sleep in the bed with you and sit in your lap! George has done great with his temporary family. He does not try to escape anymore. He has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm tested negative. Now all George needs is someone who will love him as part of their family!

Located in San Antonio Texas Meet Gerti the Border Terrier! She is our newest addition. She was found running the streets with her Dogo Argentino pal. The family that found them spent weeks trying to find their owners with no success. Gerti was not spayed and did not have a microchip. The good new is, she is now spayed, microchipped, and has had all her vaccines! The bad news is, she is heartworm positive. All though we are all very bummed about this she has a fabulous veterinarian that is taking care of her! She has started Gerti on her heartworm treatment protocol and says there is no reason why she can’t find a new home while she is undergoing treatment! Now we just need to find her that perfect place to call home! If you are interested in Gerti let us know.

Meet Tina! She is a 2 year old rat terrier/heeler mix rescued with her mom, sister and younger siblings after being dumped in a bad area of town. She is very submissive and a little shy at first but wants she warms up she loves belly rubs! She get's that from her mom! She is great with other dogs of all sizes but prefers medium and small dogs. The bigger dogs make her a little nervous. She is working on leash walking, potty training and crate training. She is currently 23 lbs with long legs. She is just a sweet girl looking for love and a place to lounge around! Tammy is available for adoption with Saving Grace Dog Rescue of San Antonio. The adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport. An adoption application and adoption contract are all required. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations appropriate for their age, microchipped, and wormed for internal and external parasites.
