Meet Clarissa: The Superdog with a Heart of Gold! Say hello to Clarissa, our five-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix who's all set to bring a burst of joy and love into your home! This pint-sized bundle of love weighs in at a sturdy 35 pounds and is every bit the sweetheart you've been looking for. Clarissa's story is one of resilience and charm. Adopted as a puppy and having done fantastic in her first home, she recently found herself back with us. But let us tell you, this gem of a dog has only gotten better with age. Currently boarding and charming everyone she meets, Clarissa gets along fabulously with dogs her size and larger. While she's not the biggest fan of smaller breeds, she's the life of the party among her similarly sized friends. Part of our prestigious Superdog Program, Clarissa is excelling in her K9 Good Citizen training. She's playful, energetic, and friendly, making her the perfect companion for any family. With great leash manners and a love for walks, she's ready to trot alongside you on all your adventures. Clarissa is looking for a forever home or a loving foster. She's a fantastic match for kids and is sure to bring a lot of joy and laughter to your household. As for cats, we're not quite sure, so a cat-free home might be best. If you're looking for a well-behaved, dog-friendly (with dogs her size or larger) companion who's ready to fill your days with love and fun, Clarissa is your girl. Don't miss the chance to add this delightful Superdog to your family. Adopt or foster Clarissa today and let the good times roll! All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Story
Walter is making great strides in his foster home! Yesterday, he enjoyed soaking up the sunshine and even started playing with toys. His ideal home would be with someone who is home during the day and appreciates a loyal little shadow—Walter loves to stay close to his people! He is shy when meeting new faces but warms up quickly. We recommend if there are children in the home, that they are 13 years of age and up. Walter is good with dogs and is both potty trained and kennel trained. Walter is a 1 1/2 year old, 14.6 lb Jack Russell Terrier. If you’d like to make him part of your family, please submit an application at www.rescuerowinc.org. If you are interested in adopting, please submit an application at www.rescuerowinc.org  *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 3 business days. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows paid by cash, a check made out to Rescue Row, Venmo: @Rescue-Row or at Zelle: info@rescuerowinc.org Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##2311918##

Story
Danielle aka Coco is a sweet, comical little girl. She loves being petted and is quick to offer her belly for tummy rubs. She enjoys tearing around the backyard, at breakneck speed but stops after a couple of laps. She loves playing with her foster buddy, Marvin (aka Vinnie), but she can sometimes challenge other small dogs. She will also initially challenge larger dogs, but stops after being put in her place a time or two with a bark from the larger dog. Coco was returned for nipping at a baby but she was okay with toddlers in her foster home when she returned to our program. Because of her history, I would not recommend placing her with babies or children under the age of 6 or so. A trial period with any other dogs in the home would be recommended. She could also be an only dog and be perfectly happy. She loves people. ****Prior to filling out an application or contacting RHS, please completely read the instructions below.**** ALL ADOPTERS/FOSTERS MUST LIVE WITHIN 60 MILES OF RICHARDSON, TX. Story
***DFW area only-No Exceptions*** Peanut is a ~10 week (as of 3/13/25) old Rat Terrier mix puppy. He has scruffy fur so we think maybe he’s mixed with Shih Tzu or some other terrier breed.  He was found stray with his brother Brittle. It’s dangerous for such young puppies to be in the shelter, so his foster mom brought him into the Legacy Humane fold! Peanut loves to be played with, enjoys jumping in laps, and is very social. He’s lively and fun. He likes to play fetch and likes to run around outside as long as it's not too cold. He hates the cold! Peanut loves a good snuggle, complete with tender kisses. Puppies at this age will require patience and training to become the best pup they can be. Peanut is working on potty training and is crate training. Peanut would best be suited for a home with older kids due to his small size.  He is in a home with larger dogs and cat friends. He takes correction well from the animals and the people in the home. Current weight: ~8lbs Projected weight 20-30 lbs    We are requesting a donation of $325 for the adoption which includes his neuter, three rounds of puppy vaccines, a rabies vaccine, microchip with registration, dewormer and a single dose of heartworm preventative.  If you're interested in meeting or adopting him, please complete an application on our website and someone will reach out to you within 48 hours.  https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ Adopter will take puppy to an LHS approved vet to be neutered in May of 2025 per the spay/neuter agreement and in accordance to Chapter 828, Texas Health and Safety Code.  *Due to the high volume of applications and inquires for puppies as well as vetting needs, we will not be able to respond to or consider interest from those outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth Area.   We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.
