Story
Danielle aka Coco is a sweet, comical little girl. She loves being petted and is quick to offer her belly for tummy rubs. She enjoys tearing around the backyard, at breakneck speed but stops after a couple of laps. She loves playing with her foster buddy, Marvin (aka Vinnie), but she can sometimes challenge other small dogs. She will also initially challenge larger dogs, but stops after being put in her place a time or two with a bark from the larger dog. Coco was returned for nipping at a baby but she was okay with toddlers in her foster home when she returned to our program. Because of her history, I would not recommend placing her with babies or children under the age of 6 or so. A trial period with any other dogs in the home would be recommended. She could also be an only dog and be perfectly happy. She loves people. ****Prior to filling out an application or contacting RHS, please completely read the instructions below.**** ALL ADOPTERS/FOSTERS MUST LIVE WITHIN 60 MILES OF RICHARDSON, TX. Story
Meet Evie, a vibrant and joyful Jack Russell terrier mix, who at just 1 ½ years old and weighing about 37 lbs, is already capturing hearts. Evie's journey with Duck Team 6 began thanks to the dedication of a kind-hearted Good Samaritan and several attentive neighbors in a Lewisville community. After a month of being cared for and watched over, Evie gracefully waltzed right into one of our Duck Team 6 traps, marking the beginning of her new life. Evie has since been thriving in a loving foster home, surrounded by a warm-hearted family, four canine companions, and a revolving door of visiting dogs and children. She adores kids and forms deep bonds with her fellow furry friends, particularly her best pal, Skylar, as seen in her photo. Her foster mom describes Evie as exceptionally intelligent and quick to learn. Full of energy, she exhibits an athletic prowess, reveling in running, jumping, and playful escapades in the backyard. Evie would make an excellent partner for anyone with an active lifestyle and is looking for an enthusiastic exercise buddy. She's crate-trained and is working to improve her leash manners. But it's not all about play for Evie; she's also a cuddle enthusiast, cherishing moments spent snuggled up on the couch with her human friends. This sweet girl is eagerly awaiting her forever home where she can share her boundless love and zest for life. If you're looking for a spirited, affectionate companion, Evie might just be your perfect match. To learn more about Evie, please reach out to placement@duckteam6.org. Evie can't wait to meet her new family!     July 1, 2024, 12:12 am

Story
Hi, my name is Walker. The vet said I’m about 4 years old.  I am a happy boy and I love people and dogs. I weigh about 30 lbs. My activities outside including chasing squirrels and other, not to be named, varmints, as I think I have a lot of terrier in me. Playing catch and batting a tennis ball around occupies me for a while and then – SQUIRREL! Inside I have a lot of toys that my sibling shares with me. My foster mom says I make good choices and only chew on toys, because I'm a Good boy!!! My foster sibling and I have a great time. I am friendly and love to play. Treats get my attention, and I am currently in training and I know a lot! Do I bark, you might ask? Well, I am NOT a cat!, so yes, but mostly with a purpose. I am not chatty but I will let you know if I think something has changed around me. I enjoy taking walks and sniffing, and I am perfect at meeting people and dogs. My goal is to have a family that will be kind to me, love me, and give me lots of attention. I will gladly reciprocate. Having another dog in my family would be perfect. Looking forward to lots of happy tail wags! ##1747931##

Story
Featured guest dog: zzRoscoe is a 5 year old Jack Russell Terrier mix who has not had owners who can keep him long enough to give him a true home. Because of that, he can be pretty stubborn and spicy, but is still willing to love and do his best to get accustomed to others. He was brought to a board and train because his owners did not know how to stop him from nipping them when they wanted him to do something he didn't want to do. He had been given a lot of privileges which caused him to be stuck in his ways, however during the board and train he learned that he cannot have privileges with that kind of behavior and disrespect. Now he is willing to learn, adjust, and accommodate people who are handling him, and he has been happy learning! We have seen how sweet, rambunctious, loving, and even tempered he actually is. He still likes to know that he can do his own thing, but he will listen to correction as well. zzRoscoe trained a month and adjusted accordingly. He now needs someone that knows how to treat a small dog with a big personality and a forever home. Transition lessons will be provided at no cost by his trainers. If you are interested in zzRoscoe and can give him the structure he needs in a permanent forever home, please fill out an application at pawsinthecity.orgDisclaimer: This dog is a participant in the Paws in the City Guest Dog Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by the foster, not by Paws in the City.

Story
Meet Raleigh, a super sweet and handsome 12-pound, 7-8-year-old rat terrier mix with a unique, funny-looking tail. Despite a rough start, Raleigh is now eager for a brighter future. He's a loving companion, thriving with other calm animals, and calm household, or as the sole pet in a home. Raleigh, having overcome being underweight, a broken leg, and heartworms, is a resilient soul ready for a caring adopter. While his healed leg doesn't currently bother him, future considerations may be needed, so potential adopters should be prepared for any financial responsibilities. That could include either amputation or arthritis medicine. Raleigh is a love bug who adores belly scratches and values being close to his people. Consider giving Raleigh the loving home he truly deserves, and you'll be rewarded with his affection and sweet puppy eyes every day. Also, Raleigh's resilience shines even brighter with the special note that he had a grade five out of six heart murmur, requiring a visit to a cardiologist in Grapevine before beginning heartworm treatment. Remarkably, after the first heartworm treatment, his murmur level decreased, showcasing his determination and response to care. While there's still a journey ahead, Raleigh's progress is a testament to his strength and the love and support he's received. Regular follow-ups with the cardiologist will ensure Raleigh continues to thrive in a caring home. Please understand that his heart condition may or may not shorten his lifespan. There are no guarantees either way. Consider being part of Raleigh's journey and providing him with the love and comfort he deserves. His adoption fee is $125 complete your application today at https://chloespetrescue.org/application
