Story
If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment to visit with this animal or multiple animals, please email us at info@animalhope.org or call 817-984-1129 between 12 pm and 6 pm.Palmer is a little guy with a big personality—about 15 lbs and 1.5 years old. His adoption fee is $300, though we’re open to adjusting that for the right home. He’s been with us for 8 months, patiently waiting for someone to see past his initial nerves and give him the loving home he deserves. Palmer doesn’t warm up right away and may bite if he feels overwhelmed, but in a calm, predictable environment, he’s made great progress.Though he was originally labeled a bite risk, we’ve seen firsthand how quickly he can adjust—it only took a couple of days for him to bond with our new kennel techs. He just needs someone willing to give him a chance. Palmer still shows stress around new people, so he’ll need someone who understands his boundaries and can give him space to decompress. He would thrive in a quiet, adult-only home with little foot traffic. He can be picky with dogs and would likely do best as the only pet, though he’s done well with three calm, respectful dogs currently in our care.If you have a calm home and a patient heart, Palmer could be the perfect fit. Since we do not observe these animals in home settings, we cannot guarantee whether they are housebroken. Upon intake, we ensure the following:Spay/neuter proceduresMicrochippingAll vaccinationsBlood and fecal testing (and treatment if necessary)Flea, tick, and heartworm preventionA complimentary wellness exam, scheduled 7–10 days after adoptionPlease note: Adopters must live within an hour of our facility and be at least 21 years old.Do you have any questions or would you like to schedule an appointment?

Story
Harrison is a good boy. He was found on the streets with his harness imbedded in his skin, so he has scares from his trauma. His owners , before us, passes away, so we do not know all of his behaviors yet. It's just my husband, and I and Harrison. He does not go potty inside the house at all. He loves walks and smelling everything. He is afraid of many things. He will cry if he puts his toe in his ear or his poop is to hard. He will bark at squirrels and at the boor bell. We taught him to play tug-a-war. I wouldn't recommend outfits or a harness, do to his past history. He sometimes has bad dreams, so it may be good to put him in a crate at night. Our doctor has given us doggy gabapentin to help with some of his more challenging times where he can be stressed out , like going to the vet. He is a little bit of a nervous dog sometimes. But he's very sweet and very quiet. He is a good boy. I hope we can find him a good home. I wish we could keep him. Thank you.

Story
I need to rehome my 2 year old dog, Jacks. Looking for a new owner preferably with kids.   He is a Jack Russell mix and very friendly and playful.  He is on a good routine, eats breakfast and dinner on schedule, and knows simple commands. He is currently in our home with 2 working parents who cannot give him the attention he deserves. If you know someone who is looking, please pass this along.  He is updated on immunizations, crate trained and potty trained.  He doesn’t chew furniture or jump on furniture.  He  likes to play with other pets and very comfortable at day camp and boarding.

Story
Toby is an excited, curious, high energy dog who loves to play and cuddle. Extremely loving towards everyone and has no history of biting or aggression. He loves to explore outside! He’s a little over a year old, we got him from PetSmart when he was only 2/3 months. We’re unfortunately having to rehome due to a newborn in the home/limited space. He’s trained to go to the door when he needs to use the restroom, and is used to sleeping in a kennel overnight. We would love for Toby to go to a home with loving, involved owners who have a backyard space for him to run around in! He’s a big chewer and chews through all of his stuffed toys so he needs tough toys to chew on!
