Story
This precious pint size cutie is Astro💙 Astro is 9 weeks old and currently weighs 4.9 lbs. We believe he is a Rat Terrier/Jack Russell mix (best guess- we do not know anything about his mom or dad). Astro is a love bug! He loves cuddle time and belly rubs! He is a playful curious little guy who likes to check things out and bounce around the yard. He also likes to play with his toys and wrestle with his brother Clifford (video in comments). Please remember that puppies need a lot of time, patience, positive reinforcement, training and love. If you have that to give and want to meet Astro, or his brother Clifford, please submit an application! Please also note, we do not adopt unvaccinated puppies to apartments/condos, the parvo risk is too high. Adoption Application can be found at: https://lonestarunderdogs.com/adoption-application-1 Adoption fee of $295 includes capstar, neuter, microchip, 2-3 dewormings, series of 3 dhpp shots, rabies vaccination, bordetella nose spray, first month of heartworm/flea preventative (dependent on age) and any other necessary procedures prior to adoption. Story
Danielle aka Coco is a sweet, comical little girl. She loves being petted and is quick to offer her belly for tummy rubs. She enjoys tearing around the backyard, at breakneck speed but stops after a couple of laps. She loves playing with her foster buddy, Marvin (aka Vinnie), but she can sometimes challenge other small dogs. She will also initially challenge larger dogs, but stops after being put in her place a time or two with a bark from the larger dog. Coco was returned for nipping at a baby but she was okay with toddlers in her foster home when she returned to our program. Because of her history, I would not recommend placing her with babies or children under the age of 6 or so. A trial period with any other dogs in the home would be recommended. She could also be an only dog and be perfectly happy. She loves people. ****Prior to filling out an application or contacting RHS, please completely read the instructions below.**** ALL ADOPTERS/FOSTERS MUST LIVE WITHIN 60 MILES OF RICHARDSON, TX. RHS IS NOT A SHELTER; OUR PETS LIVE IN FOSTER HOMES IN THE DFW AREA. Adoption Process Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Meet Clarissa: The Superdog with a Heart of Gold! Say hello to Clarissa, our five-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix who's all set to bring a burst of joy and love into your home! This pint-sized bundle of love weighs in at a sturdy 35 pounds and is every bit the sweetheart you've been looking for. Clarissa's story is one of resilience and charm. Adopted as a puppy and having done fantastic in her first home, she recently found herself back with us. But let us tell you, this gem of a dog has only gotten better with age. Currently boarding and charming everyone she meets, Clarissa gets along fabulously with dogs her size and larger. While she's not the biggest fan of smaller breeds, she's the life of the party among her similarly sized friends. Part of our prestigious Superdog Program, Clarissa is excelling in her K9 Good Citizen training. She's playful, energetic, and friendly, making her the perfect companion for any family. With great leash manners and a love for walks, she's ready to trot alongside you on all your adventures. Clarissa is looking for a forever home or a loving foster. She's a fantastic match for kids and is sure to bring a lot of joy and laughter to your household. As for cats, we're not quite sure, so a cat-free home might be best. If you're looking for a well-behaved, dog-friendly (with dogs her size or larger) companion who's ready to fill your days with love and fun, Clarissa is your girl. Don't miss the chance to add this delightful Superdog to your family. Adopt or foster Clarissa today and let the good times roll! All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Story
Meet Evie, a vibrant and joyful Jack Russell terrier mix, who at just 1 ½ years old and weighing about 37 lbs, is already capturing hearts. Evie's journey with Duck Team 6 began thanks to the dedication of a kind-hearted Good Samaritan and several attentive neighbors in a Lewisville community. After a month of being cared for and watched over, Evie gracefully waltzed right into one of our Duck Team 6 traps, marking the beginning of her new life. Evie has since been thriving in a loving foster home, surrounded by a warm-hearted family, four canine companions, and a revolving door of visiting dogs and children. She adores kids and forms deep bonds with her fellow furry friends, particularly her best pal, Skylar, as seen in her photo. Her foster mom describes Evie as exceptionally intelligent and quick to learn. Full of energy, she exhibits an athletic prowess, reveling in running, jumping, and playful escapades in the backyard. Evie would make an excellent partner for anyone with an active lifestyle and is looking for an enthusiastic exercise buddy. She's crate-trained and is working to improve her leash manners. But it's not all about play for Evie; she's also a cuddle enthusiast, cherishing moments spent snuggled up on the couch with her human friends. This sweet girl is eagerly awaiting her forever home where she can share her boundless love and zest for life. If you're looking for a spirited, affectionate companion, Evie might just be your perfect match. To learn more about Evie, please reach out to placement@duckteam6.org. Evie can't wait to meet her new family!     October 28, 2024, 3:31 pm

Story
Meet Peanut and Scruffy, a dynamic duo of delight! These two tiny tails are inseparable best friends, sharing a bond that's as strong as their love for cuddles and treats. Peanut, the shy one of the pair, is as timid as a mouse but twice as sweet. With his delicate demeanor and gentle disposition, he melts hearts with just a wag of his tail. Despite his small stature, Peanut's loyalty to his best friend Scruffy knows no bounds. Scuffy, on the other hand, may be petite, but his personality shines bright like a star. Fearless and full of zest, hes always by Peanut's side, offering comfort and companionship whenever needed. Together, they navigate the big world around them, finding courage in each other's presence. Their co-dependent relationship is evident in every wag of their tails and every snuggle shared. Whether they're exploring new adventures or simply lounging in the sun, Peanut and Scruffy prove that the best things come in small packages—and that true friendship knows no size. Peanut is the white and tan male; Scruffy is the golden blonde male. These two cuties were dumped , and after days of people trying to get them, one of them spent about an hour sitting on the side of the street with them and coaxing them to come to them..  Finally they came to her, and  she got them in a crate, took them home, bathed and feed them and have had them since.   They are both super sweet and are great little dogs.  They are playful and are healthy.. Scruffy weighs about 15 lbs ##2038136##

Story
This beauty is Kylie (aka Ky) 🩷 She is a two year old scruffy border terrier mix who weighs about 32 lbs. She has a long body and shorter legs with beautiful markings. Kylie was an only dog with a single guy for 2 years. She was not around many other pups and needed more socialization. She settled in at her foster home; she loves her foster mom and dad and is adjusted to the other pups well. Ky has a lot of energy and LOVES racing around the yard (she is very fast). She would love an active owner/couple that could take her on a lot of fun adventures and give her a lot of exercise. Older kids would be best for her. She loves treats and chewies! Kylie is crate trained and potty trained. If you say kennel to her, she goes straight to her crate and gets in 🩷 If you are looking for an adventure partner, and think she would be a great fit for you, please submit an application!
