Evie's journey with Duck Team 6 began thanks to the dedication of a kind-hearted Good Samaritan and several attentive neighbors in a Lewisville community. After a month of being cared for and watched over, Evie gracefully waltzed right into one of our Duck Team 6 traps, marking the beginning of her new life. Evie has since been thriving in a loving foster home, surrounded by a warm-hearted family, four canine companions, and a revolving door of visiting dogs and children. She adores kids and forms deep bonds with her fellow furry friends, particularly her best pal, Skylar, as seen in her photo. Her foster mom describes Evie as exceptionally intelligent and quick to learn. Full of energy, she exhibits an athletic prowess, reveling in running, jumping, and playful escapades in the backyard. Evie would make an excellent partner for anyone with an active lifestyle and is looking for an enthusiastic exercise buddy. She's crate-trained and is working to improve her leash manners. **Courtesy Post** Uno is 6 years old, and will turn 7 on December 26th. He is crate trained and potty trained. This handsome boy is very high energy and active. He walks well on a leash except when walking by other people and pets, he will try to lunge and growl/bark. He loves to play ball/fetch (he can go forever). He grew up with a cat and pitbull but is still very nervous around new people/pets. He will growl and bark and it seems aggressive but it's mainly out of fear. Uno has done well with family members/kids/friend’s pets, as well as when visitors come into the home. He takes some time to open up but will eventually be okay. He is very smart, knows how to sit, lay down, and spin. He can associate many noises with things such as a Ring doorbell sound, he will immediately go to the door. He understands a lot of words. You tell him to go to bed and he will go to his crate. He actually likes being in his crate. Uno loves to follow you around and be nosey about everything you are doing. He loves to sleep on the bed on the corner, but he will also sleep in the crate locked up at night if needed. He travels well in the car and has been on many vacations. He loves the beach. He is treat motivated and very quick to learn. He is such a great dog and needs someone with an active lifestyle and a big fenced backyard to run in. There is a small rehoming fee. Danielle aka Coco is a sweet, comical little girl.She loves being petted and is quick to offer her belly for tummy rubs. She enjoys tearing around the backyard, at breakneck speed but stops after a couple of laps. She loves playing with her foster buddy, Marvin (aka Vinnie), but she can sometimes challenge other small dogs. She will also initially challenge larger dogs, but stops after being put in her place a time or two with a bark from the larger dog. Coco was returned for nipping at a baby but she was okay with toddlers in her foster home when she returned to our program. Because of her history, I would not recommend placing her with babies or children under the age of 6 or so. A trial period with any other dogs in the home would be recommended. She could also be an only dog and be perfectly happy. COURTESY POST: Diesel is a 5 year old, 25 pounds dog who is 1/2 Rat Terrier and 1/2 French Bulldog. Diesel was adopted a year ago. He was a neglected country dog covered in ticks, but he immediately took to having a family and a warm home. In fact, he often prefers to lounge in his crate instead of go outside. He is an excellent squirrel dog, likely from having lived outside for much of his life. Diesel is a very sweet, loving dog. He would do better in a home with children over 6. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. Nugget was the name given to this eight-pound bundle of happiness by his original owner. “Prancer” or “Dancer” might be a better name for him based on his tendency to twist and turn on his back legs when he is excited. He is about four years old, healthy, and likely a border terrier mix. After he got over the initial adjustment to a foster home, he began eating well twice a day. He gives lots of eye contact and loves attention but doesn’t demand it. He likes affection and rubs. Snuggling in someone’s lap while they watch TV is probably his favorite thing. At night, this little guy burrows into the bed and blanket inside his crate and sleeps all night. When he needs to go outside, he lets his fosters know … generally by staring at them. He’s still learning the “ropes” of walking on a leash. Nugget gets along with the other dog in his foster home. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes.
