Hi, my name is Walker. The vet said I’m about 4 years old. I am a happy boy and I love people and dogs. I weigh about 30 lbs. My activities outside including chasing squirrels and other, not to be named, varmints, as I think I have a lot of terrier in me. Playing catch and batting a tennis ball around occupies me for a while and then – SQUIRREL! Inside I have a lot of toys that my sibling shares with me. My foster mom says I make good choices and only chew on toys, because I'm a Good boy!!! My foster sibling and I have a great time. I am friendly and love to play. Danielle aka Coco is a sweet, comical little girl.She loves being petted and is quick to offer her belly for tummy rubs. She enjoys tearing around the backyard, at breakneck speed but stops after a couple of laps. She loves playing with her foster buddy, Marvin (aka Vinnie), but she can sometimes challenge other small dogs. She will also initially challenge larger dogs, but stops after being put in her place a time or two with a bark from the larger dog. Coco was returned for nipping at a baby but she was okay with toddlers in her foster home when she returned to our program. Because of her history, I would not recommend placing her with babies or children under the age of 6 or so. A trial period with any other dogs in the home would be recommended. She could also be an only dog and be perfectly happy. She loves people. ****Prior to filling out an application or contacting RHS, please completely read the instructions below.**** ALL ADOPTERS/FOSTERS MUST LIVE WITHIN 60 MILES OF RICHARDSON, TX. RHS IS NOT A SHELTER; OUR PETS LIVE IN FOSTER HOMES IN THE DFW AREA. Adoption Process Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. We think he received minimal or no human contact. This little guy will need a quiet home with someone who will be very patient with him while he continues to learn a life of love from human(s). He will take some time to trust you. He is food motivated and a fast learner. He needs more leash training. We are working on potty training. He loves to play with other dogs and is very submissive. Summertime is here! And with this warm weather our good-looking boy Cadbury insisted we add swimming to his bio! He is loving the pool and then sunning himself with pride! This adorable little guy deserves all the best! Poor thing was surrendered back to the rescue basically because he was too active. They medicated him, after evaluation we find nothing unusual about this cute, chocolatey scruffy guy. All his characteristics are normal of a dog of a year and half. He actually is so easy going. Fun loving, sweet with everyone, doing good with other dogs and ready for a family to love him like he should be. Cadbury is sweet and people focused. Loves to come get pets. He is playful and energetic but settles in your lap for loves after getting his zoomies out. He is smaller in stature, perfect size.
