Story
Hello, my names Casserole! I was found wondering around in the local city and was brought to the shelter to look for my new home. I`m a bit of a nervous pup, but I enjoy calm and gentle companionship from people. Though I am a bit shy, I may possibly do well with kids of all ages and even other cats and dogs, given a proper introduction. If you think I`d be a great addition to the family, come and meet me so I can join you for the holidays! ---Our facility is open daily from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM, meet and greet appointments are highly recommended. If you are interested in meeting an animal please contact us via email at Lancaster@pspca.org to learn more about our adoption process and to set a meet and greet appointment.

Hi friends, I’m STELLA, a 1-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix. When you’re with me, you will always feel my positive vibe. I love everyone, that is why I have a zillion BFF’s here at LaMancha. I’m gregarious with special powers that make you feel like you are the happiest person in the world. I am candy apple sweet, social, and a jovial girl who just wants to please my people. I can’t wait to finally have a loving family that cares about me and loves me unconditionally because that’s all I know is unconditional love. My heart is filled with so much sunshine, and I have a fun, silly side too. I’m excited to share some fun memories with you and maybe even dance and play in the rain sometimes, just to have some fun! I am a perfect addition to your family! I am smaller in person than I look in photos. Check out one of the photos in these slides for comparison. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Hi my name is Roxy! I was taken from a home that could only be entered by first putting on a respirator, and gloves along with my half-sisters Isabell & Smokey. The 3 of us are so thankful to be with 2nd Chance! I am a very sweet gal who loves affection and kisses, I have LOTS of energy, and Smokey and I LOVE to play together. Smokey and I have lived together all of our lives, so for that reason we must be adopted together. We require a fenced yard.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!October 14, 2024, 6:08 pm

Story
Hello, my names is: PoppyDOB: 01/22/2024Sex/Breed: Spayed female Jack Russell TerrierWeight: 11.2 lbsFriends: Adults, kids, dogs, dog-savvy catsTraits: Energetic, forward-friendly, playful, smartRescued From: Owner surrenderPoppy is looking for a new home after her previous family could no longer provide her with the care she needed. We were happy to give her a safe place to go while we search for the devoted family she deserves. Poppy is happy, playful, and always up for new adventures! She is house trained, knows basic commands, and is great on leash. Going for walks with her family is a favorite activity of hers. Poppy is sharing her foster home with other dogs and cats. She loves to rough house and play with other dogs and can be annoying to the cats, but doesn’t mean them harm. She previously lived with kids and seems to enjoy the extra attention, though loud noises do make her a little jumpy. Poppy just needs some stability in her life so she can thrive and become the devoted companion she is destined to be. Please help us find this little cutie the forever home she so desperately deserves! All our pets are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.Interested in adopting? Frankie is a 5 month old neutered male jack russell mix who weighs 21 pounds. These dogs were rescued from outdoor living where they did not have proper shelter and they were being kept as farm dogs. Now that they are safe, they are so much fun, easy going and they cannot wait to meet their new families. These dogs may need work on potty training, but they are crate trained, grew up around children and have tested great with other dogs as well.
