Story
adoption donation $650     weight: 22 lbs      Age: 1 year            Jet is a sweet and friendly pup who loves to run and play and gets along with everyone she meets. She’s affectionate and doesn’t have a drop of aggression. Jet likes toys and bones and would be great in an home with another dog as a playmate. She lives with a cat now and gets a long fine with him. And those ears! Jet is a quirky funny girl who loves to follow her foster mom from room to room, tail wagging.       Jet was taken in by an elderly couple in Mississippi when they found her as a stray but the couple has medical issues making it difficult for them to keep her.. They are heartbroken to say goodbye but Wags has stepped in and promised to find Jet a loving new home of her own. Jet is spayed and up to date on vaccinations.     Jet is on her way up from Mississippi to the northeast on Friday, November 29, arriving on Saturday. She is ready to make a wonderful and loving family dog.   Wags is a registered 501 C3, it is a struggling rescue in Mississippi where one woman cares for almost 150 homeless dogs. Adoption donations are our only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fees include the transport, vaccines, spay or neuter.   For more information, please email Mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com  November 28, 2024, 7:34 am

Story
Meet Waylon, the sweet and playful 1-year-old pup who is ready to steal your heart! This 24 lb bundle of joy is of unknown breed, but may be a Beagle mix. Waylon is house trained, great on a leash, and even knows how to sit on command – a smart and obedient companion indeed! Waylon gets along well with cats and other dogs. While he hasn't been around kids much, with his gentle demeanor and loving personality, he is likely to do great with children too. Waylon enjoys cuddling up for some quality time and is always up for playing or running around the yard.  Waylon is still working on crate training, but he’s already getting better. If you're looking for a loyal and affectionate furry friend to bring joy and laughter into your home, Waylon is the perfect match for you. Waylon is neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations.  Waylon is available for adoption on or after June 16, 2024. Paws Across Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA 15144. KL#16182 ##2071082##

Story
Buddy appears to be a Jack Russell Terrier/other terrier mix. He is around 1 year of age and weighs 24 pounds. He was found under a bridge in one of the local dumping areas. It is no surprise that Buddy was scared when we first got him, but he quickly warmed up. He loves getting attention from his people. He loves pets and being close to his humans. He loves belly rubs and will roll over on his back whenever you bend over to pick him up. Buddy is small but mighty. He is muscular and high-energy and requires exercise. He loves to run and wrestle with other dogs. Sometimes, he can be naughty and will intimidate one of our more submissive dogs. Yet he backs down when one of the chihuahuas or another dog puts him in his place. Buddy is generally a good boy, and training is a work in progress. He listens well and comes when called. He is crate-trained and fairly well-behaved in the house. We are working on teaching him manners. He gets jumpy when he wants attention and more training is needed. He responds well to "no" and the "tsch" correction (as used by Cesar Milan). It would be best if applicants have dog experience and are willing to hire a trainer if necessary. Buddy would love his new family to play with him, take him on walks, cuddle, and give him a lot of affection and belly rubs. Buddy must be an inside dog and a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and have a secure, fenced yard to run and play. Buddy is neutered, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. He is heartworm-negative and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Buddy is ready to change his zip code. He is located in Texas but can be transported after he is adopted. Buddy's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to the Pittsburgh area. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.A adoption is currently pending for Rupert!  Any new applications would be for backup consideration only.  Thank you! Rupert (or Roo, as his foster mom sometimes calls him) was brought in to a local pound after being attacked by a very large dog.  He came through it all pretty unscathed, but seems to have endured some harsh times before that.  He can’t hear, his ears appear to have been severely frost bitten at one time, and he only has one good eye.  But despite all that, he is very easy-going.  He is friendly to all humans and dogs he’s met so far (cats unknown) and has a very sweet temperament.   Roo greatly resembles a Jack Russell Terrier, but he does not have the high energy that often comes with that breed.  He’s very laid back.  It could be because he’s older, though the last vet who saw him guessed he may only be about 8 or so; it’s very hard to guess the age of  stray dogs sometimes.   Rupert appears to be housebroken, though his foster mom puts a belly band on him at night or when she’s gone - just in case.  He marked a few times the first few weeks in the home, so it’s mostly a precautionary measure.  He’s kept them dry for weeks and doesn’t mind wearing them.    This is a very loving and lovable guy who doesn’t need or ask for much.  He just wants a comfy bed or cushion to snooze on, some food in his belly and a little bit of lovin’ from time to time.  He’d love a fenced yard, as he does enjoy meandering around the yard, and doesn’t seem to mind a bit of rain as much as a lot of other dogs do.  He gets excited when he sees a leash, so he’d probably be ok with walks, too.     Our boy Rupert is scheduled to be neutered and get a dental cleaning soon, so he’s not available quite yet, but he should be able to be adopted around the 3rd week in December.    if interested in making Rupert your very own, you can easily fill out an adoption application by clicking here:             adoption application  For anyone viewing this on Petfinder, if you are interested in adopting this animal you will need to go to our website www.rosesrescue.net to fill out the online adoption application.
