All our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for their transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed.

He is a very special boy, once he trusts that you are his person, he is all love! Huck is goofy, loves curling up with his person and following you around, and being your tiny best friend. He’s potty trained,crate trained, great in the car, good on leash and enjoys short outdoor adventures—sunny strolls, a little beach exploration, or simply sniffing around the yard. He loves to zoom around in the tall grass and bounce to his hearts content. His ideal home would be a single person who he can have all to himself. He would love a doggy companion and a yard to run in. He is currently being fostered with another dog and cat and does very well with both. This little frolicker isn’t suited for a busy household with small kiddos, but once he is outdoors he comes alive with joy! He loves walks, exploring, and does great in the car. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there!
