Rupert (or Roo, as his foster mom sometimes calls him) was brought in to a local pound after being attacked by a very large dog. He came through it all pretty unscathed, but seems to have endured some harsh times before that. He can’t hear, his ears appear to have been severely frost bitten at one time, and he only has one good eye. But despite all that, he is very easy-going. He is friendly to all humans and dogs he’s met so far (cats unknown) and has a very sweet temperament. Roo greatly resembles a Jack Russell Terrier, but he does not have the high energy that often comes with that breed. He’s very laid back. It could be because he’s older, though the last vet who saw him guessed he may only be about 8 or so; it’s very hard to guess the age of stray dogs sometimes. Rupert appears to be housebroken, though his foster mom puts a belly band on him at night or when she’s gone - just in case. He marked a few times the first few weeks in the home, so it’s mostly a precautionary measure. He’s kept them dry for weeks and doesn’t mind wearing them. This is a very loving and lovable guy who doesn’t need or ask for much. He just wants a comfy bed or cushion to snooze on, some food in his belly and a little bit of lovin’ from time to time. He’d love a fenced yard, as he does enjoy meandering around the yard, and doesn’t seem to mind a bit of rain as much as a lot of other dogs do. He gets excited when he sees a leash, so he’d probably be ok with walks, too. Our boy Rupert is scheduled to be neutered and get a dental cleaning soon, so he’s not available quite yet, but he should be able to be adopted around the 3rd week in December. if interested in making Rupert your very own, you can easily fill out an adoption application by clicking here: adoption application For anyone viewing this on Petfinder, if you are interested in adopting this animal you will need to go to our website www.rosesrescue.net to fill out the online adoption application.
