Story
Here's what the humans have to say about me: Cami is a male Jack Russell Terrier mix, estimated to be around one year old, with a small build weighing 5 kg. Although he has a painful past of being rescued just before euthanasia at a shelter, Cami is a bright and affectionate dog with a loving personality. He adores people and is friendly with everyone without hesitation. He is gentle with smaller dogs and gets along well with larger ones, showing excellent social skills. Most importantly, Cami longs for love and needs an environment where someone is always by his side. Since he may become anxious when left alone for long periods, a household where at least one family member stays home would be ideal. With an energetic personality, Cami enjoys jumping and playing with toys, requiring opportunities to release his energy. A home with a yard or frequent visits to a dog park would be perfect for him. As he lacks experience living in a home, he may chew on household items, but with enough toys and proper playtime, he can develop positive habits. His overall health is good, though he has a dental misalignment. However, this does not affect his ability to chew and instead adds to his unique charm. Cami is waiting for a loving family to welcome him. Please help him start a new life in a warm and caring home!

Story
Meet Baxter, the spry 10-year-old Jack Russell-Chihuahua mix. He’s a loving, smart little guy who, despite his Senior status, has a lot of extra “zing” in his step. He loves to explore outside, play with other dogs and bounce around the house. He's very friendly with kids and loves a good snuggle buddy. Baxter is a bit too obsessed with cats and would do best in a feline free home. He sleeps all night in his crate and is house trained. Baxter loves to be with his people and would do best with a family who is home frequently, and willing to give him patience to build confidence to relax when he's left alone. Baxter’s had a bit of a rough patch in the dental department — he's missing a few teeth and had a jaw injury, and his adorable hanging tongue is a testament to his charming, quirky personality. He loves treats and licking up wet food for meals. His senior bloodwork came back clear, so aside from his little quirks, he’s healthy as a horse! Baxter is ready to spend the rest of his life with a loving new family. Follow along with his foster mom on Instagram for more Baxter photos @catchandreleasedogs

37 pound Brodie is a fun loving guy!! Brodies favorite activities include playing, running outside, and then cuddling! He’s a joyful dog who just wants to be social. Brodie will do best in a home with other active dogs! Although he is very much the life of the party, Brodie is happy to be where the people are and will relax and chew his bone on the couch with you. He loves his rubs and likes to rest his head on your chest for a big hug. Overall Brodie would be great for many living situations. Inside or outside doesn’t matter, he’s just happy to be there!

Story
(DOB 11/27/2019) Teddy is a young, adorable dog who may be a little shy at first, but don't let that fool you. This sweet boy is full of love and joy—once he’s comfortable and trusts you, his goofy, playful side shines through! Teddy’s perfect for a patient and understanding owner who values slow and steady trust-building. He has a unique charm, especially with his adorable mismatched ears—one perked up and one flopped over—giving him a look that’s simply irresistible. When it comes to walks, Teddy is a well-behaved companion who enjoys leash time and exploring his surroundings, though he's happiest when things move at his own pace. He would love a home with a fenced yard where he can run and romp and just be a dog. It isn't a deal breaker if there isn't a fence; his new peeps would just need to provide him with plenty of walks and entertainment. He has no problem taking an opportunity of an open gate or door and making a mad dash, so be sure to be aware of where he is at all times to keep this little "escape artist" safe. Teddy’s ideal home would be one where he is receiving all the love and attention he deserves. He is good with other dogs and would be happy in a home with another friendlyfurry friend or he could be an only dog. He just wants to be loved and spoiled. Teddy will reward you with his loyalty, affection, and a heart full of love. Right now, Teddy is working on his house training and doing well. His new family will need to make sure they keep him on a regular routine. Teddy is a bit mouthy/nippy so be aware this is something he is working on. Teddy is a dog who loves his special things, especially his food and toys, and he feels most comfortable when these items are just for him. This means he thrives in an environment where he can enjoy his meals and playtime in peace. With the right guidance and understanding, Teddy will feel secure and confident, knowing he doesn't have to share his favorite things with other dogs.  Teddy is crate trained and he really likes to hang out there at times...kind his little sanctuary. He enjoys eating his meals and settling down for the night in there, and it provides him with the comfort and security he craves. If you’re ready to help Teddy come out of his shell, you’ll be rewarded with a loyal companion who will cherish you forever. He may take a little extra time to feel comfortable, but once he does, he’ll be the loving, goofy best friend you’ve been waiting for. Give this sweet boy a chance—you won’t regret it! As part of Teddy’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Teddy, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2289247##
