Story
Meet Snowball! Snowball is a 7-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix who's had quite the journey and is now looking for a calm, loving home where he can finally settle down. He's potty-trained, good with cats, and does well with calm dogs. Since being fostered, Snowball has made incredible progress, and his once sore paws have healed beautifully with proper care and flea prevention. Now that he's on a healthy diet and getting the love he deserves, he's thriving! Snowball's big personality has really started to shine. He loves spending time with his foster family, including their Golden Retriever, although he prefers a calm and confident dog companion or, even better, being the only dog in the house. Snowball's ideal day includes plenty of treats, cuddles, sunbathing in the yard, naps, and more treats! He's a low-maintenance, laid-back companion who enjoys simple pleasures and loves to be by your side. While he may be unsure of new people or animals at first, a little reassurance (and a few treats!) helps him warm up quickly. Snowball hasn't had the easiest life, so he'll need a patient and understanding home that can give him the time and love he deserves. He bonds deeply with his person and thrives in a calm environment. Whether it's taking quiet strolls, relaxing on the couch, or enjoying sunny afternoons in the yard, Snowball will be your loyal sidekick through it all. If you're looking for a sweet, low-maintenance companion who just wants to be loved and give love in return, Snowball is ready to be your devoted best friend. He's eager to find a forever home where he can finally relax and feel safe. Could that be with you? If you are interested in adopting Snowball, please email alexabarton11@gmail.com, Snowball has a $150 adoption fee. ***This is a courtesy listing, meaning this dog is not part of Hope Animal Rescue's foster program. Story
Missy is typically quiet and reserved, but she has a strong prey drive. She might not be suitable for households with small animals or young children due to her tendency to chase. Missy can be a bit shy and is nervous around strangers. She sometimes barks at the doorbell and loud noises.Missy has had some issues with eating dog food. She prefers home-cooked meals and being hand-fed, often enjoying chicken and rice.Potential adopters should be prepared to continue working on her eating habits, managing her prey drive, and helping her feel comfortable around new people and in noisy environments.Best living situation:A fenced-in yard and leash walks are ideal. She has been known to chase squirrels and neighborhood cats, and once she starts, it's hard to call her back (though this doesn't happen often). She hasn't been dog-tested yet, but we plan to do that soon.Behavior/Training:Missy knows the "sit" command and enjoys treats, which can be a great motivator for further training. She is good on walks and prefers to rest when she's not active. Not big into toys, but will occasionally play tug or run around with you.Be cautious with her allergies; she sometimes reacts (scratches/licks) when outside in the grass for too long. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 24.5 Age: 8yrs 7mths 2wks

Story
(DOB 07/15/2022) Meet Diane a bundle of playful energy wrapped up in an adorable 35-40 lb package! Diane is dog-friendly and would absolutely love a home with a playful dog buddy and a fenced yard where she can romp around to her heart's content. She’s a true people lover who enjoys belly rubs and affection almost as much as she enjoys throwing her toys in the air and chasing them down like a pro! Rolling in the grass and soaking up the fresh air are some of her favorite pastimes; she does LOVE being outside. And if there's a game of chase going on with other pups, you can bet Diane will be right in the middle of the action! Diane loves treats and dental chews and will all but sell her soul for some yummy snacks. As a smart and slightly mischievous girl, she’s always up for a new challenge, making her a perfect candidate for training to keep that clever mind of hers entertained. Diane is crate trained, potty trained, and does okay on a leash, though she needs some work. She’s an adorable short stack with a smile that stretches for days!  She can be a little nervous when meeting new dogs, but if introduced properly, she loves all of them. Because of her energy level a home with little tykes probably not a good fit but kids who want to play and run around in the fenced in back yard with her would be great. Though another dog isn't absolutely required for Diane, she would likely be happiest with a home with a fun and playful 4-legged friend. If not, her new family would need to be very committed to lots of daily activities to burn off her physical energy and use her active brain! She can be a little mischevious and you can find her "hunting in the kitchen" if you don't keep a watchful eye on her she may be quick to try and grab a tasty nibble off the counter. Heck, if you are good cook, she's just trying to tell you how delicious your food is; nonetheless, a behavior we are working with Diane on. If you adore adorable Diane as much as we do, get your application in quickly!  As part of Diane’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Diane, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2149766##

Story
Shadow is a 1.5-year-old, 25lb Jack Russell Terrier Mix. Shadow is the perfect combination of sweet and playful. He loves to play with his foster siblings and loves romping around with toys. Shadow is fully housebroken, and crate trained, and while he does need to learn to walk on a leash a little bit better, his foster mom is confident that he'll pick that up quickly given how smart he is. Shadow is very energetic and playful, which means he'd do best with a family that has a fenced in yard or is very active and can take them on their adventures. Shadow would make the perfect addition to any family who is looking for their perfect playmate. Please apply online at www.crisisdogsnc.org. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!November 6, 2024, 4:29 pm
