Our dogs are physically located and fostered in North Carolina until they are adopted. Once they are adopted we can transport them to your location or any of our north eastern delivery locations. We have a a very affordable transporter who comes north every other week. This boy is a Jack Russell mix. He was born 1-4-2023. This boy weighs around 15 pounds and he is extremely social and great with adults and older children and other animals except cats. He likes to chase cats. This boy has been started on crate training and potty training. Willie had horrible skin when he came in. He had a horrible flea allergy. He must remain on good flea prevention such as Bravecto, Nexgard, or similar prevention. We have gotten his skin nearly straightened out. This furbay will go home neutered, current on vaccines, preventives and microchipped. We require a prescreen application to adopt. You can get that on the website at www.saveamuttkennel.net

Story
We are almost finished introducing you to all the new dogs we have taken in the past couple weeks 😰 Meet Columbo, one of the most skittish of the 10 little ones we took in from the home that ended up with too many dogs due to lack of spay/neuter. The males in the home all wore very tight double layer belly band wraps over their “boy parts” to keep them from continuing to breed and have more litters. A creative solution for sure, though spay/neuter would have been much more effective and humane and they wouldn’t be getting skin infections from being constantly wrapped in pee soaked diapers. The real mystery 🕵️‍♀️ of Columbo is where he got his long legs from… he’s the tallest of the bunch, with most of them having short stubby little doxie dwarf legs 🤷‍♀️. They are all supposedly a mix of doxie, Shih tzu, poodle, and some kind of terrier. So maybe it’s the poodle in there that gave him his stilts. Or a taller Jack Russell. He’s a skittish panicky guy who uses his long athletic legs to fly away from new people and things that scare him, but he’s learning from the friendlier dogs to feel safe and warm up. He’s under 3 years old and 20lbs with the cutest wiry beard. Like the rest of his clan, he will need a calm adult patient home with at least one other doggie friend in the home to help him adjust to life outside of the only home and away from the only people he ever knew. Email njwoof@cs.com to meet Columbo in Northern NJ Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. To streamline adoptions, all communication before, during, and after the adoption process is done through email only: we have limited volunteers able to return phone calls. Submit an application from our website www.secondchance.petfinder.com to speed up the adoption process and email any questions to us at njwoof@cs.com. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.

She is very energetic and playful, loves her toys, hikes, and car rides and is a lot of fun for the right person! She does take time getting to know new people and prefers women to men, and thinks it is her job to protect her loved ones. She is a quirky little girl looking for an adult home with someone who understands her and many people coming and going where she can be introduced slowly to new people. She gets along with some dogs and we can arrange for her to meet your other dogs to see if they would be a fit. Please submit an application from www.rbari.org to meet her. Story
Hopper may be the most appropriately named dog you will ever meet - this little guy has pogo sticks for legs! He could probably set some kind of world record for consecutive "hops" in the air. An athletic, playful and entertaining boy who came to us with some learned coping behaviors that we believe stemmed from not having enough lets go! in his life! He was a frustrated firecracker that needed to get out and go go go!! Hop has made great canine friends here! He gets to burn off his little dog terrier energy marching along darting about tracking scents, on solo or group hikes.. in the woods jumping over logs, leaping and yes, hopping... playing chasing games with his buddies in the large grass yards and definitely getting his full share of that wonderful game, enjoyed by humans and canines alike, FETCH!!! Hop is a dog who is his best self having had some enjoyable exercise and fun games. He is smart, active and engaged. He enjoys learning and being praised! Hop is one cute little stinker with a heart melting love gaze. ___ THANK YOU for your interest in a rescue dog! Visit our website to fill out an application: www.fortheloveofdogsrescue.org We are a very small organization with limited staff, we ask that you contact us at: LoveDogs.BedfordNY@gmail.com We do ask that all potential adopters have a completed & approved application with us prior to scheduling a visit in order to help us streamline the process.

Story
Rocky might have had a rocky start to life, but he's ready to find happiness. He's still a young pup at approximately 8 months old. He weighs just 35 pounds and probably won't get much bigger than that. We are not sure about his mix breeds. He still has his puppy enthusiasm for life, so he's already learned the word 'no' - lol. That's okay Rocky, you're still a baby and you will settle down once you've found a place to call your own. Little Rocky was kept tied outside, and one day his owner decided to dump him off at the shelter. One of our rescue partners in Texas saw him and couldn't let him be put to sleep so she was able to find him a temporary foster home in Texas. He needs to find his forever family soon so he can experience all the joys that life has in store for him. The foster that has Rocky also has cats and says he will chase them because he wants to play, but he will stop when she says 'no'. Rocky is good with all other dogs and would love to join your family. He's still in Texas but can come to NJ on our next transport, once he's been adopted.
