Story
(Unfortunately I'm back on here after a year of unsuccessful attempts for my pawrents to find somewhere that would let me come with them that they can afford. 💔) Hi! My name is Biscuit, I am a purebred Jack Russel Terrier! I am microchipped & have all my paperwork. I am looking for a good home with someone who can keep me company. I can be a couch potato if you need me to be, but that doesn't mean I wont get super zoomies and run like wind. If you like long walks I'm your gal! I love being outside to sunbathe and sniff around (I also LOVE SNOW). I am potty trained & crate trained. I love to have my treats while sitting right next to you :) I would much prefer to be the only pet as I do tend to get jealous, but that dooesnt mean I cant work on it. (It will be work) I am currently up to date on all of my vaccines and recently spayed. If you have any questions about me please feel free to contact my pawrents, they just want the very best for me.

Story
Location : Korea Adoption inquiries: wds3628@nate.com ▶ Relationship with dogs: Gets along with other dogs very well. However, there are times where he barks at dogs who are too aggressive or dogs who bark at them. ▶ Relationship with cats: Hasn’t been in same space with cats, but barks at cats passing by the fence. ▶ Relationship between people: Loves human and being alongside for long period. Loves meeting people when going for walks. Mary sticks her head towards people, as if wanting to be seen. Loves human more than other dogs. If other dogs run towards her owner or seems to bother them, she would bark at them to stop. ▶ Leash training: She is family and doesn’t have aversion towards harness; she enjoys them since she know it means going for a walk. Special note: As a side effect from measle, has tic symptoms, weak front legs and inablity to produce tears. Due to weak front legs, may have some amount of shaking but has no problem at all to go for a walk. Slippery floors may casue her to slip some times but other than that, there are no problems. Mary's left eye has a bit of murky makrs which are improving over time. She has been puting artifical tears to help it. Mary used to have a paralysis on left part of her, but she was desperate to heal, that she overcame it. Her strong will is making her healthier daily.

Story
PAIGE - 1.5 yrs, 18 lbs, Chi/Terrier, Spayed  Is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program starting that day. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Thier Foster Parent Says: "Paige is an extremely special girl. She’s friendly, playful, loves to nap and is generally incredibly friendly once she’s comfortable. She loves being with her people and is content to take long naps if they are within her line of sight. That being said, she does have minor separation anxiety. She won’t bark for hours but she will whine at the door. She also tends to be a little shadow, if you move, she will move unless she is super sleepy. She sleeps really well through the night and loves to snuggle on the bed. Sometimes a noise will make her bolt up but she will go back to sleep within minutes. Feeding her can be a little tricky, she will run away from the bowl at first but I found that giving her a taste and putting the bowl near her will motivate her enough to eat it all. She also really loves chicken or beef broth mixed in with her dry food. She’s a big fan of long walks and does pretty well on a leash, she does need some training as she does tend to dart after birds, rats and squirrels. Paige loves treats and toys, she especially loves playing fetch but in the sense that she’ll retrieve the item, run past you, and then sit on a designated spot surrounded by her favorites. She’s an absolutely wonderful little girl and is ideal for someone looking for a companion that will take her on adventures, play with her, and spend a lot of time in each other’s orbit. She has an adorably playful disposition and will make you laugh all day. She’s clever, expressive, and uses her giant ears and big eyes to convey multitudes." Level of dog ownership experience needed: INTERMEDIATE: This dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Energy level  MEDIUM: Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Potty TrainedYes -- Few or no accidentsComfy with strangers?Yep -- Wants to be friends with everyone who walks by, super social butterfly, loves anyone who will stop to say hello.*will occasionally get scared and bark but calms down pretty fast* Good with Children? (ALWAYS requires supervision)Yes for all ages -- very gentle, low energy, tolerant, not mouthy with humansGood with Other Dogs?Mostly -- Generally good with other dogs but may be picky (scared of big dogs or plays too rough for small dogs, for example)Good with Other Animals? (cats, small pets, etc.)Yes -- Seems to get along with other animals, either tries to play with them or is mostly uninterestedNote: my cats co-exist with her well but she does chase them and sometimes they get into tiny play Spats. She seems fascinating by them and they tolerate her.Mouthy Behavior? High – Is either still in the puppy stage or was never trained to not be mouthy. Wants to put everything in their mouth. Respectful of body parts but will chew on things. Need to make sure your house is tidy and she has plenty of things to chew on/keep her busy. Leash Manners?Getting the Hang of it – Probably hasn’t been on a leash much in its life but he/she is figuring it out. Might be a mild puller but responds to correction. Okay in the city?Getting the Hang of It  -- Spooked easily by loud noises and bustling areas but walks pretty well and probably just needs more time to adjust (may be a puppy or a brand new rescue)Jumping on People to Say Hi?Medium – Jumps up only on people the dog knows when really excited. Stops with correction.Separation Anxiety? Lower  – Might cry for a few minutes when you first leave the house but settles pretty quickly and has no problem being left alone.Crate training? Working on it – We set one up and leave the door open but rarely close it because the dog freaks out when we do. Note: she doesn’t freak out at all, she’s just not super interested in it but will sit in the crate when I’m in the shower or kitchen which is where it is. Medical status: Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm negative; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake  How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee or St. Thomas. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes.
