Story
Meet Imp! He is lovely girl rescued by our team from High-kill shelter in Korea. She gave birth to his babies in the shelter. Behaviours from the previous foster: She is so gentle that she doesn’t bark at all and doensn’t have any aggressive behaviours. She loves walking and meeting her friends and She loves her hooman so much. She likes to be pat - especially on her butt – and always sleeps besides her hooman. She is doing her job out doors- moving her bowels. She is not a big fan of showering but she seems to bear it- She is so patient. We haven’t found any separation anxieties so far, She seems to be beyond happy when the owners come back home though. She is a little bit timid that she is afraid of some scary noise like vacuum cleaner, plastic bottle and so on. She has so much love in her. Be her loving family and she will be with you and adores you forever. Allergy/health issues: She has motion sickness. So It will help her if you let her doing her job_moving her bowels_ and keep her stomach empty before gettinng a car. *Please send all inquiries to @everlove8282. *Please submit your applications through the application form on our Instagram profile! Our team will carefully consider each of your applications to find the perfect forever homes for our dogs. *As all of our dogs are currently in South Korea, there will be an adoption fee of 700USD + customs fee (if applicable) for each dog. —> all details are on the poster! Please check it carefully.

Prefers to rest on her own rather than play with friends. * Separation Anxiety: Unknown since she is living with other dogs at the Center. * Potty Training: Is only pottying outdoors since she is living at the Center. 💌Special Notes💌 * Knows how to sit. Is practicing other tricks.

Story
✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ Meet Lea💗 Lea was staying at the Gimje shelter with #AdgsMoni. The cold weather made the shelter more difficult circumstances for tiny dogs to survive. Moni was rescued first and Lea was later rescued when Adogs staff revisied the shelter for the installment of cold insulation material and saw Lea shivering in the cold. * With People: Is a cute puppy who likes people. Is full of affection, holding out her face to be petted when people reach out their hands. * With Dogs: Is getting along well with other dogs at the Center without any problems. * Separation Anxiety: It is unknown because she is staying in the Center. Is a lithle puppy, so she may need retraining in a new environment. * Potty Training: Has just started a potty training. There may be occasional mistakes, but is doing well on potty pads. Is a little puppy, so she may need retraining in a new environment. * Car Sickness: Is stsying calm without car sickness. 💌Special Notes💌 * Is a little puppy, so she may need potty training or other training to fix separation anxiety, biting, nipping, whining, destroying, howling, and barking. * It is difficult to predict the grown-up size or shading because het parents are unknown.

Story
LEON - 4.5 months, 12lbs, Terrier Mix, Neutered Expected Full Grown Size About 25lbs  This puppy is joining Social Tees on 1/11 and is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program starting that day. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Level of dog ownership experience needed:INTERMEDIATE: As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Relevant puppy care experience is a huge plus, but bare minimum the adopter must have TONS of time and patience. Raising a puppy can be a lot of fun, but it’s also  tremendous work. Puppies’ personalities and exercise/stimulation requirements change dramatically between now and when they’re a year old as their bodies and brains develop, so an active lifestyle and the ability to adapt to a pup’s evolving needs are a must. We strongly urge professional dog training with a rewards based trainer from the get go. Adults only or kids ages 8 and up – all puppies go through a mouthy, rambunctious phase and often accidentally hurt children when playing. PLEASE DO YOUR OWN BREED RESEARCH to make sure you have a better understanding of the kind of temperament and exercise requirements this dog may have as an adult. Energy levelMEDIUM: Very young puppies sleep and nap a lot, but their energy level skyrockets when they become teens (4 months to around a year). As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day at a minimum. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Potty trained?Working on this skill. Puppies under 12 weeks old are often on track with their wee pad skills, but they’re too young to walk outside in public NYC areas yet because they haven’t finished their puppy vaccine series. Puppies older than 12 weeks are usually learning to do their business outside. Potty training takes a lot of patience, consistency, and clean up.  Crate trained?Nope. None of our new puppies have been formally trained, but many of our foster parents/adopters choose to crate train. It can be a great way to keep puppies safe and teach them independence. Social with dogs?Yes. Some puppies are shy, others are bold, but all have the potential to be taught healthy socializing skills. It’s a huge part of raising a puppy and must be done carefully. How they interact with other dogs depends largely on how their humans help them learn to.  Social with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)Yes… but most puppies are not a great match for a home with kids under age 8 because they go through intense mouthy play and rambunctious phases and often accidentally hurt young kids while playing. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age respectfully.   Social with cats?Yes. Almost all puppies have the potential to be friends with a cat. It’s on the adopter to know their cat’s temperament and preferences and to teach their puppy respectful manners.  Mouthy play: High! All puppies go through phases where they chew your stuff and grab your hands, arms, feet… puppies naturally explore the world, play, and test boundaries with their mouths. (It also happens when they’re teething.) Their teeth are super sharp though, so it can be a very painful phase for humans and other animals in the home. Proper training, outlets, and socialization are key. Leash manners:None. :) Will need to learn this skill.   Separation anxiety:MEDIUM: Most puppies have some level of separation anxiety as they learn to self soothe. Often they cry the first 10+ minutes when they are left home alone or in a crate. Consistent training and alone time is crucial. Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP and Bordetella vaccines (for dogs under 4 months old, adopters will need to finish the DHPP vaccine series and administer the Rabies vaccine at 16 weeks of age), spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer uponHow this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee or St. Thomas. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. Level of dog ownership experience needed:BEGINNER: This means we predict this dog will be low on the challenge scale due to its breed/age combo. Potentially a good fit for someone who has relevant dog care experience (fostering, dog sitting) and is looking to adopt their first pup. Energy level:MEDIUM: Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Potty trained?Probably! Adults usually are, but all will have transitional accidents for the first week or so. A consistent walking route and schedule plus finding spots with grass or dirt can help. Social with other dogs?Yes, but we don’t know to what degree yet. Some like to wrestle with every passing pup, others can coexist well but prefer to keep to themselves. We’ll learn more soon. Social with cats? Not sure yet! Some breed mixes that are generally NOT great matches for homes with cats include large hounds, huskies, and shepherds.  Comfortable with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)We’re not sure yet, but we try to err on the side of caution. Respectful kids ages 8 and up are probably a safe bet. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age respectfully.  Okay in the city?We don’t know yet. Most adult dogs do well in the city after they’ve had time to adjust to a new environment, but some never adapt and need homes in the burbs.  Medical statusHealthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm negative; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake  How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee or St. Thomas. ROB - 5 months & 10lbs (as of 1/27) Terrier Mix, Neutered Expected Full Grown Size About 20lbs This puppy is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Thier Foster Parent Says: "Rob is such a sweet boy but still very much in his puppy phase. He has high energy , loves to play with his toys and play fetch with a tennis ball. Most of all, he is VERY food motivated. We are working on potty and crate training. He takes his time with his walks, stopping and observing everyone who passes by. He is friendly with other dogs but he feels threatened by other dogs he will hide and bark once they are a safe distance away. His legs are long for his body so he clumsily moves around the apartment and trots like a deer when he runs. He shows affection by booping his nose with your nose. He got comfortable very quickly after coming home and has been very loving since." RIVER - 2 years, 16lbs, Terrier Mix, Spayed Thier Foster Parent Says: "River is an incredibly sweet, certified good girl. She loves playing with toys, being around people, belly and head scratches, snuggling, and above all else - food! She's housebroken, good on a leash, knows her name, comfortable in her crate, good with other dogs of all sizes, doesn't chew on things she's not supposed to, and a people person through-and-through. Within hours of her arrival to our apartment, she made herself right at home – ate her dinner, played with toys, jumping into our laps for kisses and belly rubs. Her puppy energy manifests in excessive face kisses, following us around everywhere we go, and night zoomies. Things we're working on: digging her paws on the rug, not jumping up to give unsolicited face kisses, basic commands (sit and stay). We have seen her "mouth" (not biting or chewing) our hands or a blanket when we're playing and she's all riled up." YARA - Terrier Mix, 1.5 years, 21lbs, Spayed  Her Foster Mom Says: Yara is a bundle of sweetness and energy. She is a companion dog through and through, wanting to be by your side 24/7. She needs her exercise, but wants her person involved by playing fetch, tug, or running around together. Once home, she wants to be touching her people. If she’s not sitting in your lap, she’s laying on your feet. Yara is house trained, great when left alone in her crate, loves all people she meets, and would be thrilled to have a canine companion. She is a true terrier so her prey drive is high. Story
BRUNO - 3 yrs, 33.6lbs (Needs to loose about 5lbs), Catalan Sheepdog/ Terrier Mix, Neutered  Our Team Says:  "Bruno is a very lucky dog! Within 3 days of arriving into our care he became very sick and it turned out he had foreign body (he had eaten a piece of plastic before he arrived in our care).  He underwent surgery and a few days in the hospital. We were nervous for him as the object had been in his body for some time so the surgery was a bit more complicated but he pulled through!!! We're so happy for him and he's like the nicest dog too" His Foster Parent Says: "Bruno would thrive in a medium energy home - he is happiest curled up next to you on the couch (well, second only to being offered treats). He’s occasionally picked up some of our dog’s toys, but he doesn’t seem to have a ton of interest in them yet. As he’s gotten more used to his new environment and the city, he’s started picking up speed on walks and gently pulling towards other smaller dogs he sees, but he’s just as likely to slowly meander and sniff - we often have to pull him to keep going! He’s house-trained and crate-trained when no-one is home. Overall, he’s really eager to please and be loved. He would benefit from humans who can show him consistency and build trust by teaching him commands (he’ll sit on his own and usually comes when called, but we think that’s more because he’s interested in being near the action than understanding a command). He also takes a lot of cues from our own dog and loves curling up with him, so he would be happy in a multi-dog home. As he’s recovered from surgery, he’s coming out of his shell, so we bet there are some new quirks to his personality to discover in the coming weeks!" Level of dog ownership experience needed:BEGINNER: This means we predict this dog will be low on the challenge scale due to its breed/age combo. Potentially a good fit for someone who has relevant dog care experience (fostering, dog sitting) and is looking to adopt their first pup. Energy level MEDIUM: Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Cuddle Bug LevelHigh — Wants to be in your lap pretty much all the time Potty TrainedYes — Few or no accidents Comfy with strangers?Takes a minute to warm up  — Fine with meeting new people but not particularly interested, kind of shy in busy social situations like a gathering or a packed day in the park. He really wants to be comfy with strangers, but it takes him some time, especially with men. He’ll approach by wagging his tail and licking, but then remembers he’s skittish and will run away.  Good with Children? (ALWAYS requires supervision)Yes for all ages — very gentle, low energy, tolerant, not mouthy We think he could do well with children of all ages, but he hasn’t been around them yet. He’s a tiiiny bit mouthy if taunted, but we have no reason to think this can’t be corrected. Overall he’s very gentle.  Good with Other Dogs?Yes — Good with all other dogs (sizes, breeds, etc.) as far as we know and enjoys socializing with other canines Good with Other Animals? (cats, small pets, etc.)Unsure - hasn’t been exposed  Mouthy Behavior?Low – Little to no interest in chewing on stuff or putting things in its mouth that aren’t food. Doesn’t try to chew on hands, feet, etc. during playtime, doesn’t wreck your stuff — only chews on appropriate things like dog toys and bones. Will try to go for items being held above his head/he perceives he’s being taunted with them Leash Manners?Old Pro – Seems like a dog that has been on a leash before. Doesn’t pull hard or need many directions. Sometimes needs you to pull him!  Okay in the city?Adjusting to the city  — Spooked easily by loud noises and bustling areas but walks pretty well and probably just needs more time to adjust (maybe a puppy or a brand-new rescue) Jumping on People to Say Hi?Low — Doesn’t jump up on people or dogs. Always all four on the floor. Separation Anxiety?Low — Completely fine being left home alone. Doesn’t cry or do anything shitty when you leave the apartment or house. We’ve always crated when we’re out - no crying, but can’t attest to destructive behavior (we assume he’d be okay; just have been careful due to recent surgery). Crate training?Yep/mostly – Seems comfortable in the crate, may whine a little at first but settles pretty quickly. We use the crate when we leave the pup alone and/or at night. Cried at night and wouldn’t settle (that didn’t last long and now he sleeps outside the crate). But very good when he knows no humans are home.  Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP and Bordetella vaccines (for dogs under 4 months old, adopters will need to finish the DHPP vaccine series and administer the Rabies vaccine at 16 weeks of age), spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee or St. Story
Meet Dari❤️ Dari came to Korean City Shelter with her six babies. Despite having skin diseases all over her body, she took care of her babies but one of them became a star. With the cold winter coming soon, Adogs was very concerned about the health of Dari and her babies, so we urgently rescued them. * With People: She's a great lover of people! She's very accepting of touch and gives her face to both familiar and strangers alike. * With Dogs: She gets along great with doggy friends at Adogs Center. * Car Sickness: She rides in the car very well with no car sickness. ** Health Status - Her medication for her skin disease is over, but she still needs to take a bath every two weeks to monitor her progress. It's not contagious! - Her fur is growing back after losing it due to her skin disease.
