Clarissa’s a 3yo 22lb JRT mix. She’s dog and kid friendly. She’s still working on house training but is pee pad trained. She loves running around her fosters secure fenced in yard. She loves to play ball and would love a family with kids. Clarissa MUST have a secure fenced in yard, another well balanced, confident active dog along with people who are on board to show leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training. If your home DOES NOT fit this please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone not a fit. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Clarissa came to Tiny Paws from a hoarding house where she was bred and had puppies. She’s spayed, vaccinated, HW negative and microchipped. Currently fostered in Westampton, NJ. If your home fits the bio and MUST haves and you’re interested in applying to adopt please do so at www.tprescue.org

Story
Our B litter is ready for adoption! This sweet litter of pups are about 9-10 weeks, born around mid-November 2024. These puppies are some of the lucky ones – a good Samaritan saw a mangy, starving dog eating scrap someone threw out in a back corner of a Mexican restaurant by a dumpster. She couldn’t turn away. The good Samaritan was going to just help mom, when she realized mom looks to have just had puppies. It’s like the momma dog knew someone was there to help, and she turned away from the scrap food and started walking down the street. The good Samaritan followed this momma dog for almost 2 miles to a home, where when they walked up, 7 puppies came running out from under the house (see video!) The homeowner didn’t claim mom or puppies, nor did she want anything to do with them. She refused to feed them or offer them shelter. It took some time, but after a few days, we were able to get all 7 pups and mom to safety. Mom is about 32 lbs and has a wire-hair coat, we have named her Lainey and she will also be available for adoption soon. We do not know who dad is. We believe pups will vary in size with the 2 runts (Baby ad Belle) staying smaller than the others – but generally we believe they will stay around 40 lbs. Please keep in mind that these puppies had minimal human interaction until a few weeks ago, but they are now in their prime age for impression, training and growing in a home to learn from. They all would do wonderfully with well-behaved children, other dogs and cats. They did not chase stray cats at the home they were at and they LOVE other dogs. Here’s a breakdown of the litter and some information on each one: All weights are as of 1/19/25 Baby – Male Runt – 7.5 lbs – Black and white (tri color) – Semi wirehair and very short hair – does not seem to shed much, if at all – Very playful. Very outgoing. Fun to watch play as he is so much tinier than the other pups. Daring. First pup to try anything. Aims to please. Wants to be next to you and get lots of love and love you. All homes would be ideal, all ages of children would be great for Baby. Belle – Female Runt – 4.4 lbs – Black and White – Wirehair – Does not seem to shed – She is quite timid but friendly and does come around. Will make the best baby. She defends herself against all the other bigger pups. Fierce and won’t let anyone pick on her. Is learning to play with toys. Could be a lap dog with lots of patience. Minimal-mild active home that is patient. Beau – Male – 10.2 lbs – Brown and White – Wirehair – Does not seem to shed – Needs someone with some patience. He is a bit timid and would rather watch everyone else play before joining. He would do best with another dog in the home. Beau is learning to trust people and his surroundings. Minimal-Mild Active home that is patient. Bree – Female – 11.4 lbs – Black and White – Short hair, minimal shedding – She is a hoot to have around. She loves to talk to you and is very vocal. She doesn’t mind telling you how she feels. She’s more of a leader and she keeps all the other puppies in check and in their place. If any of them start bickering, Bree will be there to break it up. She’s not afraid to test the waters and try anything new. A bit shorter of legs and stocky build. A more active home is preferred. Blue – Male – 12.4 lbs – Black and White – Short hair, minimal shedding – This gentle giant boy is so sweet. He is the biggest of the litter. He is very curious but won’t try anything first. He will stand back and watch. He is learning to trust humans and his surroundings. Very smart. Blue would be great with another dog to teach him or someone willing to put in the time and patience for training and socialization. Would love someone to force cuddles on him so he can learn to fully love people. Not a mean bone in his body. Mildly active home ideal, with patience. Biscuit – Male – 11.1 lbs – Brown and White – Wire Hair – Does not seem to shed – This lover boy is the most timid of the group of pups. The foster left him with his mom so she can help build his confidence and not be bullied by his siblings. He is very submissive. Needs a family or person that is patient, kind and understands he does need socialization and lots of love. Ideally no young children given how timid he is. Bear – Male – 11.3 lbs – Black and White – Short hair, minimal shedding – One of the most outgoing pups of the litter! He is one of the few that came around super quickly and is super lovable, huggable and amazing all around. He LOVES to be held in your arms and rocked like a baby or just carried around. He would rather be with you than anywhere else. His next favorite thing is belly rubs. He will roll over in a heartbeat to get some belly rubs and stay there until you can’t anymore. He is a very relaxed pup and doesn’t run around too much. Chill. Mildly active home and all age children would be perfect. All of these puppies will make wonderful and loyal companions. Please watch the video to see mom when she was first found, to when the good Samaritan found the house, to the puppies safe and sound and enjoying their first toys. All puppies are current on age appropriate vaccinations, preventions, dewormer, microchipped and will receive a clean bill of health from a veterinarian prior to receiving the animal. Story
Meet Chico ACCT-A-211111! Chico is a 7-year-old male who came in as an owner surrender on 2/1 due to the owners not having enough time. Behavior Notes: Per staff 2/2: “When approaching Chico in kennel he was curled up on his bed. he gave me some hard stares but remained curled up. I opened the kennel to leash him and he remained in place while I placed the leash on his head and once secured he stood up and came to the door. He allowed me to pick him up and remove him from kennel without issue. Once in the room Chico explored on his own for a bit and avoided me, ignoring when I tried to call him over or offer treats. I eventually walked over to him and he was a bit nervous but stayed near me. no interest in high value treats. He flinched at first when i pet him, but with a slow approach he warmed up quickly and was tolerant to all handling. He would do some toe taps at butt scratches after a few minutes of handling.” Per staff 2/1: “Was told by staff that Chico is very reactive in kennel, and placed a "No fingers in kennel" sign on him. They also mentioned that Chico was good for check-in and was sweet until he was in a kennel, so it may just be barrier reactivity. When I approached Chico's kennel he was curled up in a ball, and began to growl when he saw me. When I got within ~2 feet of his kennel he jumped up, baring teeth and hard barking at the bars, borderline snapping at the bars with the force of his barking. Will get out tomorrow for a full eval to see if it's just barrier/kennel reactivity.” Per owner: “Lived with dogs. Mostly housebroken. High energy with a passion for exercise and play. Pulls on leash. Knows the commands Sit, Down, No, Drop it, Go potty. Has bitten a person, [during a loud football game the owner high fived a person and Chico bit the person on the receiving end of the high five.] Super friendly/loves strangers and children. Depends on the situation for cats and dogs. High prey drive.” Medical Notes: Per an intake exam on 2/1: “Body condition score of 4. Eyes are pink. Ears are dirty. Unable to check mouth/teeth due to behavior. Bright, alert, responsive.” ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week. Story
Pancake was picked up off the streets in Irvington, already neutered and microchipped (but alas, the microchip was not registered). He is a sassy little guy, who enjoys long walks and belly rubs and snuggles. He enjoys his dinner and toys, sometimes a little too much. He is enjoying running loose on the farm, with the other dogs and cats, but he is smart enough to keep a weary eye on the goats. He enjoys getting rides on the zero turn! He happily trots along wherever his foster mom goes doing farm chores. His ultimate favorite thing to do after a long fun day on the farm is to curl up next to his human, preferably on their lap, but will settle, after being turned away, for the the feather pillow and have a good nap. He would in an instant, trade his current farm life for a life with a family that loves him and takes him for walks and car rides! All our dogs/pups are spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They have been dewormed and are current on vaccinations. Our adoption fee includes 30 days of complimentary medical insurance for your new pet. Breed and size is frequently a guess and can not be guaranteed. Our dogs are fostered on a private residence, we do not have a free standing shelter. They live on a farm where they run and play with other dogs, cats, horses, and barnyard fowl. Initial contact with us must be made through e-mail. E-mail ARFofMercer@gmail.com directly for an adoption application or with any questions. Once your adoption application is approved, you will be invited to meet our dogs/puppies.
