We have a a very affordable transporter who comes north every other week. This boy is a Jack Russell mix. He was born 1-4-2023. This boy weighs around 15 pounds and he is extremely social and great with adults and older children and other animals except cats. He likes to chase cats. This boy has been started on crate training and potty training. Willie had horrible skin when he came in. He had a horrible flea allergy. He must remain on good flea prevention such as Bravecto, Nexgard, or similar prevention. We have gotten his skin nearly straightened out. This furbay will go home neutered, current on vaccines, preventives and microchipped. We require a prescreen application to adopt. You can get that on the website at www.saveamuttkennel.net

Story
Are you looking for an agility dog, a flyball dog, or a jogging buddy? Buddy is your boy. Buddy appears to be a Jack Russell Terrier/other terrier mix. He is around 1 year of age and weighs 24 pounds. He was found under a bridge in one of the local dumping areas. It is no surprise that Buddy was scared when we first got him, but he quickly warmed up. He loves getting attention from his people. He loves pets and being close to his humans. He loves belly rubs and will roll over on his back whenever you bend over to pick him up. Buddy is small but mighty. He is muscular and high-energy and requires a lot of exercise. He loves to run and wrestle with other dogs. Sometimes, he can be naughty and will intimidate one of our more submissive dogs. Yet he backs down when one of the chihuahuas or another dog puts him in his place. Buddy is generally a good boy, and training is a work in progress. He is smart, listens well, and comes when called. He is crate-trained and fairly well-behaved in the house. We are working on teaching him manners. He gets jumpy when excited or wants attention, and needs more training. He responds well to "no" and the "tsch" correction (as used by Cesar Milan). He is NOT a fence climber. It would be best if applicants are experienced with the breed and are willing to hire a trainer if necessary. Buddy would love his new family to play with him, take him on walks, cuddle, and give him a lot of affection and belly rubs. Buddy must be an inside dog and a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and have a secure, fenced yard to run and play. Buddy is neutered, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. He is heartworm-negative and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Buddy is located in Texas but can be transported after he is adopted. His adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to Brattleboro or White River Junction VT. Story
Meet Mowgli! Mowgli is not your average pup; he's a bundle of energy and love waiting to find his forever home. This charming Jack Russell Terrier and Blue Heeler mix is 3 years old, weighs a sturdy 40 pounds, and hails from the vibrant city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mowgli is on a quest to find a family that matches his zest for life. One look at Mowgli's profile, and it's clear that this guy is all about playtime. His eyes light up at the sight of his beloved Kong toy, and his enthusiasm knows no bounds when it comes to chew toys, squeaky toys, fetch, and a good old-fashioned game of chase. You'll never have a dull moment with Mowgli around! Mowgli's dream home is one where he can run freely, burn off that boundless energy, and receive the attention he craves. He's looking for a family that can commit to spending quality time with him and providing plenty of exercise. Whether it's a romp in the yard or a long walk in the park, Mowgli is ready for the adventure. In terms of health, Mowgli is up-to-date on all his shots, neutered, microchipped, and fully potty trained. However, his high energy levels have led him to be prescribed anti-anxiety medication, which helps him stay calm and relaxed. It's a small adjustment for the love and companionship he'll bring to your life. Mowgli may be searching far and wide for his perfect home, but one thing is certain: he's ready to give his heart to a loving family. If you have the space, time, and energy to match Mowgli's enthusiasm, he could be the loyal companion you've been looking for. So, whether you're in Philadelphia or beyond, consider opening your heart and home to Mowgli's boundless spirit. He's ready to embark on the adventure of a lifetime with you! Also, Mowgli is open to a long-distance adoption—love knows no distance when finding your perfect companion!

Story
All interested people should submit an adoption application as their first step. Allow us to paint a picture for you: It's Fall in New England. You wake up to the smell of pancakes and fresh maple syrup that your significant other is cooking. Your little dog is snuggled in the soft blankets beside you. He seems so cozy that you almost feel bad waking him up. Nonetheless, you both get up and get dressed. You're so happy you bought matching flannel jackets for you and your dog. It doesn't get any cuter than that, right? It's Saturday, and you're excited for a day of Fall fun. After breakfast, you all hop in the car and head to your favorite apple orchard. Along the way, you stop for a pumpkin spice latte and a pup cup. Once at the orchard, you pick fresh apples and take lots of cute photos of your dog for Instagram. You laugh as he trots through the orchard and "helps" you pick out apples. You don't have the heart to tell him that the best apples are on the trees, not the ground. On your way home, you stop at the farmers market to pick up your dog's favorite pumpkin spice dog treats. Once home, you make a homemade apple pie using your super-secret family recipe that has been passed down for generations. Meanwhile, your dog comes in from playing fetch in the yard with your spouse. They are both covered in colorful leaves after trying to find the ball when it rolled into the leaf pile in the corner of the yard. You all decide to snuggle up on the couch and watch your favorite scary movie while the warm, comforting scent of apple pie fills the air. Sounds amazing, right? Biscuit thinks so, too! He'd love to find a family to do Fall things with! Biscuit loves long walks in the woods, zooming around the yard and cuddling with his humans. He's approximately 6 years old and is the perfect size at 25 pounds. He's hoping to be in his forever home before Thanksgiving! if you are interested in Biscuit, please submit an application on our website!  All pets adopted from GDHS are spayed or neutered, have vaccinations brought up to date, are on heartworm preventative (dogs), FIV/FELV tested (cats) and microchipped. The Greater Derry Humane Society does not have a physical shelter, and all visits are by appointment only. December 13, 2024, 4:17 pm
