This lil' 27-pound, white-harp-seal look-a-like is Thor! He is quite possibly the most adorable, too-cute, precious, lovable, delightful good boy. The one thing that we have learned about ourselves from being around Thor is that we are total suckers. All it takes is Thor staring at us with his big, endearing eyes and we melt. We offer treats. We tell him how perfect he is. We talk to him like the little baby he is. And when his ears perk up...all bets are off. We melt again. Thor would be happiest in a home with older kiddos, probably around 10ish and up. We know he would love to be their furbrother! From what we have seen during his interactions with other shelter dogs, it has been quite positive! We think that Thor would love an active, social lifestyle. He is a peppy boy and loves to run and play. Thor also enjoys going for walks and hikes. He also likes to snuggle and go for car rides. Thor is about two years old and is neutered. He's waiting for you!

Taco is the best! He's full of so much life and so much energy. He's always up for going outside to play and loves when other dogs are around. His ideal scenario is having a backyard to run around in and having other dogs around to play with. He's incredibly social with other dogs and children. He's the greatest dog on earth to play fetch with. You can throw the tennis ball with him for hours and he'll bring it back to you each time (but for some reason wants you to take it out of his mouth lol). If you're someone who wants companionship or a dog that gives you an excuse to stay active each day, Taco's your guy. It breaks me that I can't keep Taco anymore, but I'm on the road 2-3 times a month for work and am usually distracted with work even when I'm home. It's not right and Taco deserves someone who can give him the time and attention he deserves. He's well trained, housebroken and listens well. (Note: We're in NYC)

Eddie has had a whirlwind last few months. Not the good kind either. After the death of his owner, he was surrendered to the shelter because no one else could care for him. Then he was adopted briefly but returned because the person was moving, after only a few weeks. Ugh is all we are going to say. Eddie is mini in size but full of spunk. He loves to watch the yard for activity and eat treats. He is a simple man. *Adoptions are walk-in 12-6 daily at 2741 S. Western Ave. Chicago, IL *The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID. *All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up to date rabies vaccination for your dog or dogs. *Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.

Amber first arrived to CRA with her litter of puppies, there after referred to as the Seinfeld litter. They have all since been adopted and while Amber's original family wanted to keep her, it ended up not working out and now she's in the market for her own happily ever after. Amber is a small terrier mix with lots of youthful energy left to entertain you. She is also, without any doubt, a chihuahua mix. She does not sell herself well and she gives absolutely zero craps about it because she knows her foster mom will continue to let her live rent free forever anyways. (Side note from her foster mom: she's holding me hostage please send help.) Amber is "v sus about strangers and would prefer it if you just didn't perceive her at all because quite honestly it's criminal that people should expect to just be in her presence for free without paying some kind of toll or subscription. Once she stops being a diva, she's actually a pretty chill little psych ward escapee. She has an olympic medal in zoomies (don't ask to see it though, just take us at our word please). She's cute as heck and soft like a bunny. She loves trashy TV and talking crap about you co-workers with you. Amber is also a very accomplished body guard and does not stand for people hurting those whom she has decided to tolerate. Have you ever wondered what your dog would do if someone broke into your house? You don't need to worry what Amber would do, cuz I'll tell you. She'll open up a full can of chihuahua sass on any unsavory visitors and make sure they think twice before crossing you again. For this reason, we'd like to avoid putting her in a home with children. Mostly because we're pretty positive she'd teach them about arson and pirating music and how to open a dog crate without using any opposable thumbs and sneak out of the house without being caught and we don't want to be responsible for the corruption of your family dynamic. Amber gets along with other chill dogs and has a very "you stay out of my way and I'll stay out of yours mentality. That said, she does not do well with barriers and gets extra spicy when she can't properly sniff a butt. For this reason also we'd love to see her land somewhere with a yard that allows her to not have to be denied butt sniffing due to leash restraints and distance. She'd love to meet you and extort you for all the treats in your possession. She's perfectly imperfect but also at the same time exactly who she was meant to be, and we love that for her. Don't pass on this sass! She's worth it! Amber's adoption fee includes her up to date vaccines and preventatives, heartworm negative, spay, and microchip.
