Story
Russ is a good dog just has trouble with resource guarding. The family is just too busy to give home the time he needs for training. He likes to play fetch, tug, and go out for walks. Although he is not leash trained. He’s energetic, intelligent, and stubborn. He is 4 yrs old. He would need an individual who likes the outdoors, and wants an all day companion.

Story
Hi there! My name is Alfie, and I’m on the lookout for a family that can keep up with my energy and love my goofy antics! I’m a 30-pound Jack Russell/Beagle mix, and even though I’m 1 year old, I still act like the playful puppy that I am. I was rescued from a southern shelter just in the nick of time, and now I’m hanging out with my foster family in Battle Creek, MI, on the lookout for my forever home.   I’ve got a body that just can’t stop wiggling with excitement, but I’m super treat-motivated, so I think I’ll be easy to train. I’m crate-trained and housebroken, and I have an obsession with shoes if left unsupervised. I think it’s because they smell like my people!I adore my dog siblings and my 10-year-old human foster sister, although sometimes they remind me to chill out when I get a little too excited. I love to play with them, but I respect their space when they need a break. Because I’m still working through my puppy nibbling phase, I’d probably do best in a home with older children. I enjoy going on walks, but my absolute favorite thing is chasing squirrels, so I’ll need a fully FENCED-IN YARD to keep me safe during my squirrel patrols! I also ride well in the car, but I might need a little help getting in.My dream forever family is active, ready to help me work on my puppy habits, and willing to shower me with as much love as I’m ready to give them. I’m already fully-vetted, microchipped and ready to be yours for an adoption fee of $300! If you have any questions about me, feel free to email at projecthoperescue@gmail.com. Story
Name: Scruffy Breed Guess: Wirehaired Terrier/ Jack Russell Terrier Mix Age: 3 years old Gender: Male Weight: 8 pounds Children: No Cats: Will test upon request Dogs: Yes, calm dogs (Meet and Greet Required) Adoption fee: $450 Hi, I recently arrived at the ARP and am currently living in a foster home. As with most little dogs, I have the little dog attitude. I like to guard things that I believe are mine, so I could use some training in this area. I do great in a crate and consider this my safe space. I can startle easily so a calmer home would be best for me. I love attention and cuddles when I ask for them. I've been at the ARP since 1/23/25 and am currently in a foster home. The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.
