Courtesy Post!!! FOSTER NEEDED or FOSTER TO ADOPT: Buzz & Woody (they do not need to stay together), a pair of 3–5 year old Jack Russell Terriers (16–22 lbs), found themselves in a rural South Georgia shelter where they were struggling emotionally. Thankfully, a kind-hearted local stepped up to foster them temporarily—and what a difference it’s made! Outside the shelter, these boys are thriving: no more constant barking, just joyful exploration in a backyard and the comfort of human kindness. But time is running out. Their current foster can only keep them for two weeks, and we’re urgently seeking a local foster or foster-to-adopt home to continue their journey toward healing and happiness. What You Should Know: Both dogs are heartworm positive and need to be neutered. We cover all medical costs and provide supplies—you provide the love and safe space. They’re sweet, resilient, and ready to blossom in a home that believes in second chances. If can open your heart and home to Buzz & Woody, please reach out. Even if you can’t foster, sharing this post could be the link to their next chapter. Let’s help these boys find the forever family they deserve. Contact us today to learn more about fostering Buzz & Woody! ##2568452##

Story
Meet Colby Jack! Colby is a happy 4 year old Jack RussellBoxer mix. Colby adores being with his people especially when he gets lots of cuddles. He leans into your leg when he's getting lovies and shows you his big smile! Colby enjoys hanging out with laid back dogs. He and his foster sister, Elly, enjoy rambling around the backyard finding new things to sniff.  He weighs approximately 35lbs which is a good, manageable size for your lap!. He loves to play with humans but may be a bit too playful for toddlers or younger children. He’s crate trained but it is not his favorite place to be. He walks well on a leash and would make a great hiking or running buddy. Colby spent the first year of his life on a chain and has really blossomed into a very loving dog who craves attention. We think Colby would do best with a family that doesn't live in a congested area with lots of noise and has another dog to play with. He doesn't care for delivery trucks entering his domain or lots of strangers. Colby is very smart but craves attention and stong leadership, He really needs a strong pack leader to help him along his journey. . He passed his professional obedience training with flying colors so he already knows the basics. He is up to date on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped. Colby is available for adoption at www.dirtroaddoggiesrescue.org         ##1087310##

Story
A foster-to-adopt option is available for me, giving us the chance to get to know each other before making it official! Peanut Butter is a 10month-old Jack Russell/Terrier mix bursting with puppy energy, curiosity, and affection. This sweet boy is incredibly friendly and loves being close to his people — whether that means hopping into your lap for cuddles or curling up beside you for a nap. He’s truly a love bug at heart. Peanut Butter gets along well with other dogs and enjoys being active. During a recent Doggy Day Out, he loved going for walks, playing fetch, and exploring a fenced backyard where he could run leash-free and check out all the exciting sights and smells. Like many puppies, he’s still learning leash manners and may chew on the leash during walks — something that should improve with consistent training. Car rides and house manners are also areas where Peanut Butter will need patience and guidance. He was a bit unsure getting into the car at first and had a few indoor accidents, suggesting he may not yet be fully house trained. With routine, supervision, and positive reinforcement, he has all the potential to succeed. Despite these typical puppy challenges, Peanut Butter’s affectionate nature truly shines. He loves jumping into laps, bonding closely with his humans, and being part of the family. With continued training, structure, and plenty of love, Peanut Butter is sure to grow into a wonderful companion. If you’re looking for a playful, sweet, and loyal pup who’s ready to learn and thrive in a committed home, Peanut Butter could be the perfect match for you! Peanut Butter has an est. birth date 02/28/2025 and has been neutered, microchipped and given all age appropriate vaccines and preventions. peanut Butter has an adoption fee of $315. Puppies require a lot of time and commitment. Please make sure your schedule can accommodate a puppy as they will be a member of your family for the next 10 to 15 years. If you want to know more about the Peanut Butter, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
I AM CURRENTLY IN A FOSTER HOME. PLEASE REACH OUT TO THE OFFICE TO SET UP A TIME TO MEET ME!Hi, I’m Gam Gam! I’m an 11-year-old Jack Russell Terrier with the sweetest little soul. I may be a senior girl, but I still have so much love to give. Because of my age, I’m looking for a special someone who can open their heart and home to me as a hospice foster or adopter.I’m going blind and possibly hard of hearing, so I would do best in a calm, quiet home—either with gentle, laid-back dogs or as the only pup. My favorite things in the world are snuggling close and napping the day away. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion to share your home and heart, I’d love nothing more than to spend my golden days by your side. Currently, I am available for adoption. If you are interested in meeting with me, please fill out an application or call the Humane Society of Forsyth County at 770-887-6480. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Thursday 11-5 and Friday and Saturday 1-5. All my love, Gam Gam /(^.^)\",AVAILABLE"
