Story
Sweetie is very loving, she would do very well in a cat only household. I don’t know about small children but she does extremely well when shes assimilated and is a cuddle bug, just wants to be a lap dog and follow you around where ever you go. She is very anxious around other dogs and strangers though. With dogs she will bite if they get close enough but she does her best to stay well enough away. Ive never seen her actively go after another dog. She just doesn’t do well with high energy dogs that get super excited meeting her and won’t leave her alone.

Story
✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to ATL💟 Meet Dodo🖤🤍 Dodo was rescued along with two other dogs, Dodam and Dorang, from a dog meat farm in Korea. Despite witnessing the cruelty of their fellow companions dying, Dodo still wagged his tail when he saw people. He is now in a foster home and doing well. * Interaction with people: Loves people and communicates well emotionally. Displays intimacy to strangers. Becomes full of charms once people become familiar to him. * Interaction with dogs: Wants to make friends with and approaches other dogs first with wagging his tail. Is whining and looking for caregivers when bothered by other dogs. * Interaction with cats: Trembles in fear when encountering cats. * Separation Anxiety: Enjoys his time alone but occasionally tears tissue or pads. * Potty Training: Outdoor potty. Comes to foster and is whining indoors when nature calls him. * Hygiene: Accepts baths calmly and does not make a fuss in getting dryed, brushed, and toenail trimmed. * Walks: Was afraid of unfamiliar environments or sounds but gradually improving. Was scared of steps before but currently overcame the fear. * Car Sickness: Does not get car sickness and looks out the window in a car while being held. * Follows the commands such as "Sit," "Paw," "The other paw," "Hi-five," "Come here" and "Wait." Can understand "Wait" even in English.

Story
LOOKING FOR LOVE:  Approx. 13 years old / Approx. 19 lbs.  Hi, I’m Nitro!  My foster says that I’m a sweet and loyal senior companion who has the cutest white eyebrows and brown Yoda ears, a wiggle butt with an adorable nub tail, and a happy, curious, and silly personality. I was adopted for about 3 years but came back to Mostly Mutts due to being protective of my mom and biting the grandson. I don’t really recall the circumstances of that, but I have not shown that behavior in my foster home and my foster will be happy to talk to you about how great I’m doing in their home.  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I have previously wanted to be an only dog as I showed resource guarding, but in my foster home I’m living with 2 larger dogs, and I’ve done just fine with them after a proper introduction.  I am mostly disinterested in them and don't want to play, but we coexist and go for walks together well, etc.  I also like the other senior foster dog since she just likes to nap nearby.  So, if you have a dog that sounds like this, we could meet and see how we do together.  I also don’t react to them on walks, I’m quite indifferent to seeing them from afar.  / No cats please. / No kids please due to the bite in my former home. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m very devoted, loving, and sweet to my people! I’ll do best in a home where there are not too many new people coming and going because it can take a little bit for me to warm up to new folks. But once I trust you, I will nudge you to keep petting me if you stop, climb into your lap to kiss your face, and follow you everywhere around the house. I am a huge lovebug!  When I lived at the MM shelter, I was very overwhelmed/stressed with the number of people I was exposed to each day, so I had a few favorite people and there were a few bites when others came up to us suddenly.  Again, I haven’t shown any of this in my foster home.  I have a bit more weakness in my back legs and find myself a bit more tired these days so look for me napping on the multiple dogs beds around my foster home.  / My energy level is around a 3-4 and a bit higher if there is food involved! I get SO excited for food and will perk up my ears, do my tippy-tappy dance, and wiggle my entire behind whenever I hear the slightest crinkle of any bag, so cute!                           • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am very food motivated which is great for training. I’m an expert at sitting, and I will offer a sit to you anytime I think you have treats. I will come when you shake a bag of treats. My foster mom is working with me on not jumping up and other commands like stay, etc. When I lived at the shelter, I knew more commands, but I’m happy with the ones I remember now and if you would like to work on more with me, we can do that. / I've not loved the crate in the past, but I do great in a secure pen or a small room when you need to leave me alone. / I have good potty manners in my foster home on a schedule. During the day I can hold it for up to 4 hours, and then at night I hold it all night for 8 hours!    • LIKES/DISLIKES:  My two favorite things are eating food and being petted by my people. I also love short trots around the yard, bones, car rides, and fuzzy blankets! I enjoy looking out windows and rolling around in the grass outside too. I have a great nose and love to sniff around in the yard or play with puzzle toys inside.  I am curious about sights, sounds, and smells on my walks in the neighborhood or at the park with my foster.  My foster takes me out in a dog stroller so I can still have great adventures without walking too far. / I don’t like meeting people too quickly, so it is best to give me a little time to get to know you. Let me come to you instead of reaching for me. I will also bark at loud cars that pass by on walks, though I don’t bark much otherwise. I can't do stairs that well. I can manage a few, but if there is an entire flight of stairs, you'll have to pick me up which I have been fine with in my foster home. I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love and attention too. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I have a collapsing trachea so I should take shorter walks, led with a harness not a collar.  I should also not be walked much when it’s hot outside - just to go to the potty or to a cool stream. I’ve been diagnosed with Cushing’s. I’ll need annual testing for Cushing’s, and I had that in Feb. 2024.  I am also being monitored for my liver function.  I take 3 medications, all quite easily for my foster! Just ask about these.  If you’re looking for a devoted dog and have a nice quiet home environment, we could be a good match!  My adoption fee is $100.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  November 3, 2024, 8:07 am

Story
A LOVELY SENIOR SWEETHEART:  Approx. 12 years old / Approx. 15 lbs. Hi, my name is Khloe!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I am grateful for the good care and love I’ve received from the volunteers.  I needed a good dental cleaning when I arrived, and I’ve gotten that now, thanks to a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization!  Now I’m ready to find a family to love!  I’m with a wonderful foster family now while I wait for my furever family to find me and I’m having a blast living the home life! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I get along very well with my foster family’s 4-year-old dog. She is gentle with me since I am a senior. I share all my toys and chew bones with her. We had another foster dog in the home, and I really liked her too. I enjoyed watching them play like dogs do, but I didn’t try to interact when they were playing rough.  Also, I still need to learn how to play appropriately since I sometimes hump.  I also met dogs at Mostly Mutts, and was interested in them but didn’t play.  If you have a nice doggie at home, let’s meet! /  My foster’s older cat does not interest me at all, and I’m careful to avoid getting too close since once he took a swipe! If you have a dog-friendly or dog-tolerant kitty at home, let’s meet. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no young kids that may fall on me and because I guarded my bone once in a temporary foster home. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m described as a loving and happy girl with a calm, friendly nature.  I was so sweet during my bath, and that has been my demeanor overall with the volunteers as well.  I really just love to be near my people.  I’ll follow my foster mom everywhere! You should know that sometimes I can get underfoot, which means I could be a potential tripping hazard.  Though not a lap dog or a dog that wants to be picked up, I am a great people dog who will be your loyal companion. / My energy level is 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  Older dogs CAN learn new tricks, and I’ve learned the ‘sit’ and ‘leave it’ commands.  I also have very good leash manners.  I bet you can teach me even more! / My crate manners are good, though I am not a fan of the crate being closed in my foster home when they have to leave for short periods of time – probably because it keeps me away from people – which I do not like. /  On a regular schedule, my potty habits are excellent in my foster home. Please continue to keep me on a good schedule in my new home and I think I’ll do well once I’ve settled in at my new home.    • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I enjoy playing with fluffy squeaky toys and chewing on Nylabones. When it is time to chill, I like snuggling in soft pillows and blankets. I like to sleep on my dog bed on the floor next to my foster parent’s bed, but never on it! I also like to take walks and run around the backyard with the other dogs in my foster family’s home. / I would benefit from a stay-at-home family member, as I don’t like to be left alone – or even separated from my people by closed doors.  I am a bit of a nervous car rider, too.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I also received my dental cleaning, so my breath is fresh, and my teeth are shiny clean! I’m looking for a wonderful home where I can live out my golden years in joyful bliss!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  November 11, 2024, 6:58 am
