Story
JosieBreed: Jack Russel TerrierFemaleDOB: 1/10/19Adoption Fee: $200Josie is a very sweet girl, who loves a snuggle and belly rubs. She was abandoned outside as a puppy, and has real anxiety about being outside. It is pretty sad to see, but we’re working through it. Inside though, she is a joyful dog that loves to lay by your side, play with toys, and is good with calmer dogs. She has a funny personality, and even likes to do a little dance for her supper. She understands sit, stay, shake, lay down, and is good on a leash. Josie is obviously a very smart dog, but the fear of going outside is her struggle in life, and as such, will need continued support in poty training. This is Josie's second time at the rescue. She has been in a foster home since October, where they are working to help her and love her, but she'll need someone to pick up where they leave off. She needs a patient and understanding adopter, who is able to work with her in a calm and loving environment. She really is a sweetheart, but so scared of being outside. This special dog needs a special someone to show her the way. Please read the animal bios completely before requesting additional information as we do our best to answer the most frequently ask questions in these bios. In order to adopt one of our animals an application must be submitted and approved. You can find these applications by going to http://humanemorgan.org/index.php?page=adoption ABOUT ADOPTING FROM THE HSMC: The shelter address is 1170 Fairground Rd. Madison, GA 30650. For more information on any of our pets, please feel free to email us at INFO@HUMANEMORGAN.ORG give us a call at 706-343-9977. All dogs are heartworm negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. All cats are FeLv/FIV negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. We are open 10am-5pm Monday-Saturday, we schedule our last adoption at 4pm everyday to allow our staff enough time to feed and walk dogs. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application. If you have any questions please email us at info@humanemorgan.org and provide name of the animal you are interested in, in the subject line. Thank you, HSMC Staff ADOPTION FEES Adoption Fees may change without notice. Story
Meet Colby Jack! Colby is a happy 4 year old Jack RussellBoxer mix. Colby adores being with his people especially when he gets lots of cuddles. He leans into your leg when he's getting lovies and shows you his big smile! Colby enjoys hanging out with laid back dogs. He and his foster sister, Elly, enjoy rambling around the backyard finding new things to sniff.  He weighs approximately 35lbs which is a good, manageable size for your lap!. He loves to play with humans but may be a bit too playful for toddlers or younger children. He’s crate trained but it is not his favorite place to be. He walks well on a leash and would make a great hiking or running buddy. Colby spent the first year of his life on a chain and has really blossomed into a very loving dog who craves attention. We think Colby would do best with a family that doesn't live in a congested area with lots of noise and has another dog to play with. He doesn't care for delivery trucks entering his domain or lots of strangers. Colby is very smart but craves attention and stong leadership, He really needs a strong pack leader to help him along his journey. . He passed his professional obedience training with flying colors so he already knows the basics. He is up to date on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped. Colby is available for adoption at www.dirtroaddoggiesrescue.org         ##1087310##

Story
Pebbles is approx. 3 years old and weighs 9 pounds. Our best guess is that she is Jack Russell and chihuahua mix. What we do know is she is a long legged love bug! She loves to play with her fellow fosters and she is quite fond of her boyfriend, Donald. Those 2 can often be found snuggled up together, napping. Pebbles and her parents were rescued from a not so good situation. So, she is still working on her house training. She does do pretty well with the pee pads. She will just need patience and consistency to get her fully trained. WE DO NOT HAVE CATS. THEREFORE WE DO NOT KNOW CAT COMPATIBILITY. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND: OUR PETS ARE SHELTER PETS. WE HAVE VERY LITTLE, IF ANY, INFORMATION ABOUT THEIR PAST. PLEASE BE COMMITTED AND PREPARED TO TRAIN/RETRAIN YOUR NEW PET. REMEMBER, THEY MUST HAVE TIME TO DECOMPRESS. If you have not heard of the 333 Rule, please Google it. If you are interested in making this pup part of your family, please email us. Please give a brief description of your home, family and what you are looking for in a new furry family member. You may include anything else you think will move you to the top of the adoption list. We are located in Hollywood, SC. If you are not local to the area, we can refer you to a transport company. This company is not affiliated with the Rescue and will charge a separate fee.

Apple is less than a year old and is a Jack Russell Terrier Mix. Apple loves to have all eyes on her and all hands petting her! We expect her to be 35lbs or less once fully grown. She is working on crate training and gets better at walking on leash every day! Apple is selective with the dogs she chooses to play with, but absolutely loves romping around. She is great with adults and children! Puppies and Dogs are spayed or neutered, Heartworm negative, microchipped, appropriately vaccinated, and treated for parasites. They are available to inside only homes where they will be part of the family. Applications to adopt can be found at harthumane.org. Our adoption fees include the spay/neuter surgery, deworming, vet exam, and up to date vaccines. It also includes microchipping as well as heartworm testing. Story
Howdy, everyone! Dolly here. I’m an outgoing girl who is good with most dogs and people. I was just spayed Oct. 8, and am now UTD on my shots, microchipped, and ready to roll after recovery. I am a sweet girl about 2 years old and am the “beige version” of my already-adopted sister, Penny (now Cookie). I am learning to walk on a leash and am really getting the hang of it. Before, I would just lie there like a brick and stare at you. Now I know it means we’re going on adventures! Woohoo! As with all of the rescues here, I will require a secure, above-ground fenced yard to keep me safe. https://www.jackrusselladoptions.org/adopt-a-dog/
