Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bear Pup is a sweet Jack Russell Terrier mix, full of puppy enthusiasm wagging her tail constantly! She is very intelligent and loves attention! At six months old, Bear enjoys learning new things, playing ball, getting belly rubs, and giving lots of love. She likes the fetch game A LOT and will play fetch all day if given the opportunity (she brings the ball back every time). As soon as Bear wakes up she puts a toy in her mouth. When someone comes home, he/she gets greeted by her with a toy in her mouth. When Bear sees another dog a toy immediately goes in her mouth. At the end of the day the foster home floors have about 20 toys all over it!!! The foster family commented that out of all the dogs they have fostered Bear is the dog that loves toys the most. Bear would enjoy having a fenced yard to run and play ball in, or a large indoor space with lots of toys accompanied by outdoor walks. Her favorite activities are holding or running after her ball, squeaking toys, and "shaking" her squirrel stuffy. But as soon as someone sits down in a chair, Bear changes her thought process and jumps up to be next to him/her and lays calmly cuddling with that person. Bear loves people, especially kids, and insists on sleeping in a human bed being as close as possible to that person. Bear has helped around the foster house…. Laundry = When getting a load of clothes from the dryer a sock was dropped. Bear picked it up and carried it in her mouth as she followed the person to the bedroom. Cleaning = Bear put her toy ball in her safe location and then to her surprise that room door was closed. When the door opened again (hours later) she remembered to crawl under the bed and got her ball. Sweeping = Because Bear wants to be wherever humans are she walked beside the Swifter pointing out to her foster if she saw a crumb. Bear lived in a house with her littermates before coming to 4 Lucky Dogs and at her current foster home she lives with three dogs. She loves playing with dogs such as chasing, wrestling, tug-of-war, keep-away, and play-bow positions. She also likes being wherever dogs are such as following a foster family member or sharing a dog bed cuddling next to one. It would be best for Bear if she lived with another dog or with an owner who can provide her regular interaction with other dogs. She is new to wearing a collar and being on a leash so is experiencing for the first time how to walk with them on. The adopter will need to continue to teach her this skill. Bear gets very nervous riding in the car. She may drool or get nauseous. As she gets more secure about going places outside of the home this may change – we just want the potential adopter to be aware that Bear may not like traveling long distances. Bear’s adoption fee is $620 and covers all shots including rabies, dewormer, microchip, and spay. The average lifespan for this breed is 15 years. Therefore, Bear’s adopter will need to be prepared to care for her for around 14 more years so she will not have to move to a different home. She is currently being fostered in the Plant City area. ***We are a foster-based rescue with no shelter or facility to view our dogs, and our address is a mailing address only. Please be patient as we are an all-volunteer rescue, and our rescue dogs are in various loving foster homes throughout West-Central Florida. As a general rule we try to limit our adoptions to within the state of FL. If interested in one of our dogs, please fill out a foster or adoption application at www.4luckydogs.org, and we will contact you by phone/text if we feel your application is the best fit out of the ones received.***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 18, 2025, 9:36 am
