Howdy! My name is Brandi and I am a spunky, active 10 year old, 18 lb, Jack Russell terrier mix. I came in to the pound as a stray but, thankfully, was rescued by Forever loved. I am a pretty smart little girl who knows the commands ‘sit, ‘shake’, ‘get down’ and ‘no’. I like toys, puzzle mats and taking walks so I can use my nose to smell all those interesting scents. Even though I have blindness in one eye, you would never know that by my zest for life! I have so much fun playing tug-o-war, fetch or having you chase me around with my squeaky toy. I am very curious so I like to be around you to check out what you are doing---maybe I can help out! I love meeting new people friends who will gently pet me and rub my belly. I am shy for about 2 minutes, then my tail starts wagging! My favorite time is when we can settle down together and snuggle on the couch or at bedtime. You give me some hugs and pets and I’ll give you some kisses and look adoringly into your eyes. Such a sweet time of day! I hope that I can be your only pet ‘child’ because I don’t like to share my toys or my people with other dogs. And because of my terrier instincts, I probably wouldn’t do well with cats or small pets either. But I promise that I have plenty of love and energy for all of us! I am reliably housetrained. My fur is soft, but wiry, so there’s not much shedding but I do need a trim and a brush at times. I take an inexpensive allergy med to keep me from itching and it works very well. So that’s all about me—a pretty normal Jack Russell breed dog. I am cute, cuddly, active and stubborn at times. I would love to meet you and learn all about you and our future together! Zeek is a two-year old, Jack Russel Terrier that packs a lot of personality, fun and sweetness into a compact package! He was placed on the county’s euthanasia list due to significant swelling of his left shoulder that left him with quite a bit of lameness. We stepped in to save him, because we knew he deserved a second chance at a life full of love and happiness! With proper medical care, rest and a loving foster, Zeek has had time to heal up and will not even require surgery. He is running around and playing in just a fe short months. We are thrilled with his recovery and his zest for life! Zeek has a moderate amount of energy is quite playful, even if he may be shy meeting new dogs initially. He loves dogs smaller than him and is even good around cats! This boy is crate- and house-trained, and he is just starting to get a taste of what life is like with daily strolls now that he is feeling better. His foster family describes him as a sweet, affectionate dog who is gentle, curious and trainable. Zeek enjoys being outdoors, whether that’s lounging in the sun, playing with his foster siblings or just getting some fresh air. He would love a doggy sibling and a yard to play and explore in.
