It’s in the dogs/puppies best interest to be placed into their furever homes in a timely fashion. All household members must attend the meet and greet. Nue originally came to us from a seizure situation at a sled dog facility. She had only ever known time on the chain and was almost completely feral to humans. She spent a significant amount of time in her foster home before she was adopted where she continued to flourish. Due to a life-changing situation, the adopter was no longer able to keep Nue so her original foster graciously took her back knowing this was the only other home that she had known. Too much of the foster’s surprise she was a completely different dog when returning. She is more confident and more trusting, although she’ll still need a home that understands that she takes a little time to warm up, but after she does, she will vocally tell you how excited she is to see you and even come to you for attention. Nue is a fun loving girl, who needs a good human to help her live a good life. She is a quirky girl and loves a strong routine. She loves spending time outside and would love a fur friend to keep her company!

Story
Meet King! King was originally surrendered to CCHS back in April of last year. This handsome, playful guy has had the misfortune of being adopted out and surrendered back twice. First, was due to being fearful of the male owner’s deep voice. The second, he was surrendered due to conflicts with another dog in the home that was not disclosed until post-adoption. With both of these occurrences, we learned even more about this active guy! For instance, we learned that King would do better as the only pet in the home! He would also benefit from a female owner who has experience with Huskies as a breed. He is a phenomenal dog, he just needs someone who is willing to meet him where he is at! Due to coming in with very minimal training and packed with anxiety at 10 months old, King was not given a proper chance to learn how to be a dog without stress and anxiety constantly surrounding him. King is now over a year old and weighs about 64lbs. Don’t miss out on such a cool guy! Apply for King today!Approved applicants will be notified via email. Please check junk/spam folders for a response. The adoption fee is $250. Adoption applications can be filled out at CCHS or online through our website, www.cchs-petshelter.org. Applications are not first come, first served. All applications will be reviewed by the adoption committee and the home chosen will be the one considered to be the best match. All dogs and puppies have been vaccinated for Distemper and Bordetella, dewormed and microchipped. If old enough, they will be vaccinated for Rabies and blood tested for Heartworm, Lymes, Anaplasmosis and Ehrlichiosis. Dogs and puppies will be spayed or neutered before adoption. CCHS is proud to be a No-Kill Humane Society. As a private, non-profit charity, our work depends on donations and volunteers to keep going. We are committed to helping the animals that enter our doors and finding each the best possible forever home. CCHS has been inspected and licensed by the Department of Animal Health - DATCP. Our license is #268235-DS.

Story
This sweet little husky mix, who will turn 2 in April (DOB 4/26/23), has only one Christmas wish - to find a home to call her very own. She was found on the streets of Texas in 2023. She then spent a few months in the shelter before finding rescue down there. In January 2024 she came into the New Leash Family and has been in a foster home since then.    Zirah is very timid and takes awhile to warm up to new people so she will require a patient family who can continue to make her feel safe and one who doesn’t have a lot of new people coming over. She tends to be afraid of many things so we believe she needs a home without small children. She will likely run if not contained so a fenced in yard is required.   She is doing well with potty training  Loves being outside and the snow   Loves other dogs and really needs another playful dog to show her how grand life can be Gentle at giving kisses and taking treats Enjoys being the nosey neighbor and watching out then windows   After adopting a timid dog the best feeling in the world is seeing them blossom before your eyes.    Zirah is eligible for our foster to adopt program.   If you think you might be a good fit, please send us a message.  If you don't already have an application on file, please to go out website and fill one out!  www.newleashdogrescue.com ##1983299##
