Story
Meet Skye, a super sweet and lovable Husky who’s sure to capture your heart with her gentle nature and playful spirit. Skye loves spending time looking out windows, as it brings her comfort and allows her to observe the world around her. She’s a big fan of belly rubs—just wait for her to flop onto her back and give you the perfect invitation to scratch her belly! She’s not shy about asking for affection and will soak up all the attention you’re willing to give. Skye’s previous owners shared that she’s great with other dogs and loves being around kids. She has a gentle and loving nature, making her an ideal companion for families. Skye is also an adventurous soul who LOVES to explore, so a leash is a must when you're outdoors. She’s treat-motivated and takes treats gently from your hand, making training a breeze. Skye knows commands like "sit," and "down," and has good recall skills, making her an obedient and responsive companion. We are unsure how Skye will do in a household with cat friends. Skye will thrive in an active household that will keep her engaged and allow her to explore the world safely. Whether it’s outdoor adventures, playtime, or simply relaxing with some belly rubs, Skye will always be by your side, ready to enjoy the moment with you. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate, and adventurous pup who loves attention and exploration, Skye is the perfect match for you! *If you are interested in adopting please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
Zirah is a sweet little husky mix who is coming up on her first birthday and her only wish is to find a home to call her very own.   Zirah is extremely timid and was not well socialized to people.    She has a strong prey drive, so can't live with cats or small dogs.   She loves dogs her size and bigger (she is just 35 lbs) and is learning how to "dog" a bit more each and every day.   She will run if not contained, and hasn't been well acclimated to a leash, so definitely will need a fenced yard.  She is a smart girl, and is catching on to housebreaking.   She is still mouthy, but not aggressive.  But for this reason, and her tendency to jump on people, a home without young children is needed.  For the little bit we had snow this year, she loved it!   Zirah is a gorgeous girl who has all the potential in the world, but she needs a human who will be patient with her and teach her good manners. In return, you will have her loyalty and love, and the immense reward of seeing her blossom right before your very eyes.   Zirah is eligible for our foster to adopt program.   If you think you might be a good fit, please send us a message.  If you don't already have an application on file, please to go out website and fill one out!  www.newleashdogrescue.com ##1983299##

Story
They say that a picture is worth a thousand words…and Latte’s “before” photos will do just that. This incredible boy tells a story of true resilience, as he overcame a life of neglect. At 2 years old, our guess is that Latte never knew a single day of love before his arrival to rescue. The loss of fur, the malnutrition, the scabbed up, raw, itchy skin, the skin & bones, the stench, and the intense desire for human attention…they all tell of a brutally painful past that this boy had to endure. And while he cannot communicate the specifics to us, his physical condition told us all we needed to know. Latte needed love. ‍ And while his “before” snapshots will break your heart…we are happy to report: Latte is safe in a foster home. He is loved. He is getting care. He is doing SO.MUCH.BETTER!!! AND! He is now ADOPTABLE!   Latte is an insanely sweet and GOOD husky mix boy. He is 2 years old, and weighs-in just under 50lbs. He is still a bit underweight, so is looking to put on a few additional pounds! Latte is looking for a home where he can be the only dog! He was obviously deprived of food before coming to rescue, so has some food security issues around other dogs (which we simply can’t blame him for). So he’d love to be your one & only pup. He is currently being fostered with 3 cats and has no problems with them! However he does need to be kept out of their food and litter area, as otherwise he will clean them out! Latte LOVES attention, and he loves cuddling. He would sit/lay in your lap all day if you let him! He learned to sit for treats very quickly (he’s a smart boy!), and should be quite easy to train using positive reinforcement + plenty of yummy treats. He walks well on a leash, uses a doggie door, and is housebroken (win!). He is still in the late puppy stages, so does tend to jump up in excitement and do some play biting. Because of this, we’d say a home without super young kiddos would likely be best. Making sure that Latte gets plenty of exercise and mental stimulation helps keep his hops + play nibbles to a minimum! He is still learning to play with toys (which is seriously the sweetest thing to see), but currently prefers chews of any sort. A major bonus: he will keep your floors crumb-free! He sleeps in a crate at nighttime, but needs to be coaxed in there a bit. He'd much rather sleep with his person (& be with them ALL the time!). He loves to drink water, but doesn’t like getting wet. He really likes to ride in the car, and has been very good when meeting new people. He just loves attention! Latte’s skin continues to heal [from 2 years of malnutrition], so it still makes him a bit red and itchy. This has improved greatly in just a few weeks, and will continuously improve with a good diet! All in all, he is such a lover, and deserves nothing but love for the rest of his days. If you’re the one who’s able to do that for our boy, please apply + reach out via private message. Just ask for Latte! APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!)  **Latte’s $200 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. ##2213094##

It’s in the dogs/puppies best interest to be placed into their furever homes in a timely fashion. All household members must attend the meet and greet. Nue originally came to us from a seizure situation at a sled dog facility. She had only ever known time on the chain and was almost completely feral to humans. She spent a significant amount of time in her foster home before she was adopted where she continued to flourish. Due to a life-changing situation, the adopter was no longer able to keep Nue so her original foster graciously took her back knowing this was the only other home that she had known. Too much of the foster’s surprise she was a completely different dog when returning. She is more confident and more trusting, although she’ll still need a home that understands that she takes a little time to warm up, but after she does, she will vocally tell you how excited she is to see you and even come to you for attention. Nue is a fun loving girl, who needs a good human to help her live a good life. She is a quirky girl and loves a strong routine. She loves spending time outside and would love a fur friend to keep her company!

Story
Meet Sassy, a sweet and energetic girl with a heart full of love and a spirit that’s always ready to play! This playful pup loves nothing more than engaging in exciting play sessions, but she’s also a bit timid and can be shy at first with new people. That’s why she’s looking for a dedicated coach—someone who will provide the love, patience, and consistency she needs to thrive. Sassy is an incredibly smart dog with a real desire to please. She already knows basic commands like sit, stay, and come, and she walks well on a leash. With the right owner who is committed to regular obedience training, Sassy will continue to excel and become the well-behaved, loving companion she’s meant to be. Sassy is ready to be the loyal and devoted friend you’ve been searching for. She would do well in a home where she can play, learn, and enjoy regular walks and outdoor adventures. With the right training and encouragement, she’ll shine and bring lots of joy to your family. If you’re ready to work with this intelligent, playful girl and help her reach her full potential, fill out an application to meet Sassy at HSNEI.org today!
