Story
Honey is such a special pup! She was a byb dog who was sold at 7 mo old with no socialization with people or pets. She has come so far!! She is looking for a husky savvy home with a 6’ fence. She loves to play with safe, non-destructible toys and fetch, and sometimes will bring the ball back ❤️ She is solid with other dogs and loves other dogs. Super tolerant of other dog's antics in playgroups. Even though new experiences and new people make her nervous, once she gets to know you and trust you she starts to open up. She has a very silly personality once she is comfortable with you. She's very treat/food motivated. She knows her name and will come when called by her name. She's a husky so she'll need lots of exercise and enrichment as she can get bored quickly and likes to dig or chew up stuff. She is a gentle, loving companion. She's not into being handled for long periods of time but she's come a long way in letting people touch her. If she knows you well she loves butt scratches. She also gives her paw when leashing up. Loves water, playing in a pool, playing with or dumping her water bowl, or playing with hose water! Our volunteers would say "she is 'fast as f@^$!'" She is not an apt dog. She needs a house with a yard and humans who are willing to put in the bonding time. Once she decides you are awesome, she loves you forever. If you are interest in Honey, please fill out our application on our website! She is so ready for her forever ❤️ Application can be found here: https://bit.ly/pawdadopt

Story
Sapphire is a beautiful 5 year old Siberian Husky who needs to have a home with no other pets if possible. She does fine with passing dogs on a walk but doesn't do well if forced to interact. Cats are fun to chase so probably not the dog for someone who has cats but she's great with children. She's house trained and is a lover. Her owner is unable to care for her anymore so she is with friends but has to stay separated due to her inability to socialize with other dogs. She will need spayed and that amount is included in her adoption donation of $250. Please complete an application if you'd like to meet her.If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application.February 10, 2025, 2:49 pm

Story
Miss Jamie here is a work in progress. She came to us after a wonderful human brought her to our attention out in Toutle, WA. She had been running at large with 2 other huskies, one which was caught several weeks before, and the third hasn't been seen in weeks. We sent a trap up to the property owner and she trapped that night. She has been here ever since. Jamie loves cheese and loves cheese. Did I mention how much she loves cheese?!🤣 Will bark at you for cheese. 🤣 She is so gentle taking treats! But her being so treat motivated has helped us to gain her trust. She is quite vocal. Solid with other dogs and loves to play with other dogs! She loves balls and can entertain herself with balls but she is definitely more confident when another dog is around. She'll need another dog in a home to help her learn how to dog and be more comfortable around humans. Our Volunteers say, "She follows me around more often now in the big park, will lick my hand. But she's still pretty wary of human touch. I love when she gets vocal as she sounds sassy, and I feel like I can have a conversation with her!🤣 She still needs a lot of work to trust humans but I have hope for her. I love her beautiful, blue eyes." She is stunningly beautiful, gentle, and did we say she loves other dogs! She is still wary of humans. She is highly trainable and is responding well to positive reinforcement training. She LOVES playing in water. She will require a home with a 6' fenced yard. She will require a drag line after adoption for a while, even with a fenced yard. She does like to play keep away on occasion. But if she likes you, she comes when she is called. She will be a wonderful addition to a family with another dog. If you are interested in Jamie, please fill out an application on our website at https://bit.ly/pawdadopt Check our our adoptable dogs at: www.ipawditforward.org

Story
Willow is a six year-old mix of husky/pointer/pit/border collie. She’s spayed and up to date on shots. She’s leash-reactive to other dogs and plays kind of hard so isn’t great for dog parks. She’s uncomfortable around kids, so no kids. She does well on pack walks and play dates with dogs she’s introduced to and that play well with her, of course. Willow is a jumper and can easily clear any fenc3 under six feet. She’s chill. She loves to lounge on the couch and spend all day in the sun during the summertime. She’s very smart and easily learns new commands or tricks. She doesn’t counter-surf or steal food from the table. She doesn’t bark often but for the mailman or strangers at the door. She’s crate-trained and prefers to be in her crate when left alone. If interested, apply at sccpets.com. If approved, we’ll put you in touch with the owner. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application.February 17, 2025, 4:21 am

Story
Three years ago this guy showed up on our property. He was being fostered about 5 miles from us and the lady said he was just too much dog for her. So we took him in and adopted him. After he adjusted to our family, we started seeing some signs of aggression with our other male dog. Well, the last two years have been horrible. There have been many dog fights, three of which required vet visits. I am terrified that one of these days our 12 year-old daughter is going to get bit. He does perfectly fine with our two female dogs, in fact, he submits to them. He’s really good with kids, doesn’t seem to care about cats. Chickens however, he will kill them. He doesn’t jump on you when greeted, and is not food aggressive. He is a great traveler. He is housebroken, but will spray if left alone. (I wonder how much of that has to do with having another mail in the house, though) He also loves his kennel and sleeps in it every night. He needs a family where he is the only male dog.

Here's what you need to know about me:I can be shy in new spaces. I need a family who will let me take things at my own pace as I learn about new things. Once I come out of my shell, I have lots of love to give.I'm easy going. Wanna go for a walk? Okay. Hang out in the yard? No problem. Just relax on the couch? I can do that. I'm pretty happy to go at your pace and I don't really need much more than most dogs do. If you're looking for a steady companion, I'm all yours. It's recommended I meet any kids living in my new home before I'm adopted. I just want to make sure we all get along.I would prefer to be the only dog in my new home. Meeting dogs makes me nervous.I'm available for Trial Adoption! If you're interested in taking me home for 2 weeks before making a final decision, please email adoptions@southwesthumane.org. Primary Color: Grey Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 54 Age: 5yrs 0mths 3wks

Heyo everyone, I'm Stratus! Haven't heard of me yet? Take a look at everything my friends here have to say about me!Like most huskies, I'm really smart, and I already know how to sit and walk nicely on leash. Even better? I love toys AND treats, so you'll have lots of ways to teach me new things!I am a bit shy with new people, but once I know you're my friend I love nothing more than to spend time with you. Whether it's leaning in for pets or going on a hike, as long as we're together, I'm happy!I'm an active pup and I love to play outside - going on adventures together would be great, but I'd be just as happy to romp around the yard with my toys. Anyone down for a game of fetch?I've had a lot of fun meeting other dogs at the shelter - my friends here think I'd be great at making new dog friends! Maybe me and your resident pup could have a play date?As a husky, I enjoy singing! I may not do well in an apartment or a home with shared walls.I'd really like to find my forever home soon! I'm even part of the Diamond in the Ruff program, which means we'll have plenty of time to get to know each other before we officially seal the deal! I'd love to get to know you - maybe you'd like to get to know me too? Then come stop by and say hi! Primary Color: White Weight: 65 Age: 3yrs 0mths 4wks
