Story
The swooshy waggy tail, the signature husky eye contact, the hand-holding and full-body snuggling… are you in love already? We are! Luna is a lovebug with beauty AND brains. She’s dog-friendly and cat-tolerant, a perfect fit for any animal lover’s home. She has so much personality, and will truly feel like a member of your family.
We think Luna is a husky mix of some sort. She’s estimated to be around 4 years old, and tips the scales at a fluffy 59 pounds. She is a rescue, so her exact age and breed are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed.
Luna is friendly with everyone she meets, she’s quick to ask for pets, and once you sit down she will politely snuggle up to your side. She gives gentle little kisses, and she has the most luxurious and pettable coat.
Luna has spent time with kids as young as 10 years old, and she’s done wonderfully with them! She’s gentle, soft and sweet with kids. She would make an amazing family dog.
Luna knows a handful of basic commands already, like “sit” and “paw.” She’s food motivated, and so gentle when she takes treats, so any further training will be enjoyable and rewarding for both of you! She’s great on leash already, relaxed and along for the ride.
Luna is a dream with other dogs, she is a bouncy and happy player, and has even been used as an assessment dog here at Three Little Pitties. This means that Luna welcomes new rescue dogs, teaches them that the rescue is a fun and safe place to be, and shows us things about the new dog’s behavior that wouldn’t be evident without a little canine assistance. Luna has a precious and sweet way of approaching dogs and asking to play, she gives great play bows! Luna also checks in often with her people while she plays with her doggy friends, which is a great sign of loyalty and intelligence. Luna shares treats, toys and affection well with other dogs! Luna would love some doggy siblings in her forever home, but she’s so people-loving that she could also thrive as a solo dog.
Luna has been cat-tested here at the rescue, she was perfectly respectful with our house cat Tom. We believe her to be cat-tolerant, capable of living with dog-savvy kitties.
Take Luna out and about and watch her steal hearts! Gentle on leash and friendly with everyone she meets, Luna is an excellent adventure dog candidate.
Luna’s perfect home has at least one loving human to call her own, maybe kids, maybe some other doggy siblings to hang out with, maybe a kitty or two. Luna does ask for a little bit of space on your couch, but she’s a compact husky, taking up only a cushion-worth of room! We think she would make an amazing family dog. Luna is such an intelligent and engaging personality, we know that she’ll feel like a member of your family. This sweet girl is ready to meet her forever family, and knowing her, it will be love at first sight! We are willing to test Luna with anything you may need to ensure that she is a perfect fit for your family, home and life. We can make most anything happen. Just let us know!

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
