Story
**Meet Princess Mary: The Husky Who’s Ready to Run and Cuddle!**Princess Mary is a 6-year-old Siberian Husky with an eye as blue as the sky and a personality to match. She's an energetic, adventure-loving pup who's always ready for a good run or a long hike—just try to keep up! But when the playtime is over, she'll happily curl up for some well-deserved snuggles. Mary is a social butterfly when it comes to other dogs. She's the life of the dog park and loves a good game of chase. If you've got another dog who likes to run and play, they'll be besties in no time! Now, Mary does have one little quirk: she's barrier reactive. Translation? She gets a bit excited (okay, *a lot* excited) when she sees other dogs, people, or anything that moves behind a fence or when on a leash. Don't worry—she's a quick learner and just needs some training to help her keep her cool. Mary would thrive in a home with an experienced dog owner who's ready to give her the exercise, training, and love she craves. She's active, but also a total cuddle monster once she's burned off some energy. Older kids who understand her boundaries would be a great fit, too. If you're looking for a playful, sweet, and slightly quirky dog to add some fun to your life, Princess Mary might just be the royal you've been waiting for. Reach out today—she's ready to rule your heart! To meet Princess Mary, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. Story
Kylo is an 8 year old, 45 lb. remarkably chill, male Husky mix. He is housetrained, crate trained and knows basic commands like sit, down and shake. Kylo's fur is a little thin in places due to a thyroid condition but it doesn't slow him down at all. He knows he's a handsome boy and likes to prance around to show it. Kylo loves going for walks, hikes, car rides and playing fetch. He also loves snuggling on the couch with his humans and just lounging for a belly rub. He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home. His condition does require him to take medication 2x/day, which he does with no problems. Kylo is a very sweet pup who would just love to settle down in his furever home.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Story
Chico was being given away by a woman whose grandfather was no longer able to care for him due to his advanced age. I was able to get his medical records from the Human Society. Chico needs more exercise then the average dog but appears to need less then the average Husky. When I take him to the dog park for an hour, he usually needs a good walk in the evening. When I take him for 2 hours he doesn't ask for exercise. When Chico is at home he is usually wrestling with my other dogs, napping, cuddling, or playing. Chico enjoys cuddling. It took a few days for him to want to start cuddling but then he has come up to me several times since for affection. Chico is very chatty. He is a Husky. He likes to hear the sound of his own voice. If my other dog is whining, he will whine with her just for fun. He isn't normally very loud, but will start howling if he really wants something. Chico is trainable. I don't think he was house trained in the past but is responding well.

Story
Marlowe is such a wonderful dog. She loves to be outside and would enjoy easy access to a large yard. She uses the doggie door with no need for training. She is still very much in her puppy phase and needs to be closely monitored around my older dogs, as she doesn’t realize her size and sometimes knocks them over. However, we've introduced her to other dogs that are closer to her age and size, and she plays very well with them. I have a Corgi who hasn't been socialized due to previous medical issues, and he was a bit aggressive with her at first, but she never growled back. She has the patience of a saint and doesn't guard food or toys. She does okay on a leash but will need some training in that area. She has met toddlers and does well with them; I think she would be amazing with kids. She LOVES attention and would cuddle and accept pets 24/7 if given the chance. She hasn't been introduced to any cats yet.

Story
Meet Kita, the husky with a heart as big as her fluff. She’ll greet you with a hug, a wiggle, and maybe a face full of fur. Always polite, she’ll wait for you to say “please” before showering you with slobbery kisses. When she’s not hugging, she’s probably waiting patiently for the next belly rub, because Kita believes in love, manners, and the occasional snack.

Story
Chena is a special girl. Approximately 1 year old female husky mix. She is slight in stature, weighing in around 40+ pounds, but is a dynamo of an athlete. It has been a real treat welcoming her in as our foster friend.  Chena has great house manners; she is potty trained and will use her crate overnight, or when we are away. As of late, we have let her free range in our home overnight and during the day when we are gone; all without incident. We live at a busy ski area, and although she is always alert to what is going on around our home, she will only let out a modest bark here and there.    Chena LOVES being on trails and in the mountains. Her recall has been quite astounding after just a couple of days.  We had her off leash, in safe areas, within days. We do suggest to any adoptive family that "off leash" is done gradually.  Chena is initially a bit shy with new people and dogs; but does warm up quickly. She prefers to check out the environment with some caution.  Chena has been around our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter and did well.  With that said, we feel she would thrive either in an environment with or without children and with or without other dogs; she has been quite adaptable; and gets into the "family dance" easily with encouragement.   We have not had any exposure to cats, so we cannot yet comment.  She is a cuddler and will do anything to be your sofa buddy.    Chena has some hesitation on solid surface floors; but it has been incredibly random.  She currently has solid floors at her foster home, and after about a week, overcame her hesitation. We are still working on open air stairs and elevators. She is great in a car and does well on leash. If you feel Chena could join your family, we would love to meet you for a walk, hike, etc. so she can be introduced.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 6, 2025, 1:00 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Arrooo Aarooo Rrooo! That’s the sound that I make, as I don’t bark very often. My name is Aquarius Cato and I am sweet little Basenji mix. I was listed as an Akita mix when I was smaller by the shelter, but foster mom is pretty convinced I'm a Besenji mix! I am almost 6 months old and a little bit shy, a little bit outgoing and a whole lot of spunk. My full grown weight should be around 30-35 lbs. If you haven’t heard of a Basenji before, then I suggest you head to Google because we are one of the most unique breeds, and in fact, have the closest DNA to a wolf of all domestic dogs. Of course there is a chance I’m not a basenji or an Akita, a dna test is probably the best way to tell.   This is why my foster mom thinks this. Basenji’s are often called cats, they are high energy, can climb (not kidding) and make very unique sounds. Because I’m a mix I do bark on occasion but mostly you’ll find that I howl when I want something, when I need something, and when I wanna tell you something. Because of my vocal voice, apartment living is NOT for me. Oh and if I hear sirens, expect to hear me sing a beautiful song to them.   My foster mom says that I have excelled in potty training and she fully believes that in my forever home, I will also excel if you keep my day structured and continue crate training. Which I am already crate trained. I love to take naps in my crate, I sleep at night in my crate and I often take my bone in the crate if the doors is open and I’m already done playing.   I love to snuggle when I’m done playing and love toys and can chew bones for hours. I’ve only been on a few walks so far and my foster mom said I did pretty awesome for a puppy. I was a little scared, but I loved all the smells and I could see myself doing this multiple times every day. I’ve also had a pup cup and loved that and hope that I can find a forever family that will take me to get them when I’m a really good girl.   I currently live with two cats and get along well with them, I also have three doggy foster siblings and have met a handful of other dogs. Basenjis aren’t known to be the best socializers however I have done pretty well and once I get over howling at a new dog, I enjoy trying to play with them   Four words that describe me are intelligent, independent, vocal and energetic.   If you were looking for an active pup, who will be your best buddy. I’m your girl so please apply at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Apply to meet me at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 29, 2025, 11:39 am
