Story
Taz is a riot! He’s full of playful energy and likes to keep active. He’s always ready for fun, and he creates the fun himself if need be. He’s a big time toy lover, though he does have a short attention span with them. He’s still very much a puppy at heart which leads to all kinds of goofy behavior! He has what is now known as a smooth brain…meaning he doesn’t seem to have all that much going on between his ears, but he’s such a happy boy and always having so much fun that it doesn’t really matter. Taz is always excited to get out of his kennel and get some exercise. He seems to have an endless supply of energy, and only stops for pets every now and then.

Story
Autumn is all about running and playing. This girl has a need for speed! She loves nothing more than zooming around off leash in one of our play yards. She’s even happier if she has toys to play with! She’ll toss them around and keep herself entertained for quite some time. She’s been known to run so fast after a toy that she fishtails. It’s quite the show! We’re extra happy to see Autumn in play mode since she came to us in rough condition. She was found seriously injured. Both of her back legs were hurt and she was limping on them. She also had puncture wounds around her head, ears, neck, and shoulder. She’s since healed up nicely, and you’d never know she was so injured when you see her happy and playing! Like most of her breed, Autumn has a high energy level and loves to keep active. She’s also very sweet and eager to get a treat from you. She hasn’t mastered any tricks yet, but she does seem to have had some potty training.

Story
Meet Marble, Your Future Adventure Buddy! Marble is a spirited, gentle white Husky, around 1.5 years old and about 45 lbs, looking for his forever home. He is up-to-date on vaccinations and neutered. When Marble was first found, he seemed to have been abused in his past home and needs someone gentle and patient. Sadly, he is not allowed in the apartment complex, and with our increasingly busy schedule, we haven’t been able to make the time for him he deserves. He is a sweet and gentle guy who loves being where everyone is. He can be mischievous at times trying to sneak food that isn’t his, but with his intelligence and enough patience, he becomes easy to train. He loves dog parks and is quite the social butterfly, always excited to meet the next dog he sees. Marble could be the perfect match if you’re an active family or individual with room to roam and a flexible schedule. He's ready for a home where he can fully enjoy life’s adventures and have the companionship he deserves.

Story
Bailey is the sweetest girl and has never met a stranger! Originally saved by rescue after she was run over and her owners couldn't afford to help her, she eventually had to have one of her legs amputated. She loves to go on walks and having three legs does not slow her down a single bit! She can jump, run, and play like any other dog. She runs right up to all houseguests to say hi and gets full body wags when she’s excited. She enjoys being outside to sun herself and is pretty mellow and relaxed most of the time. She can goof around too, and she likes to play with both human and dog companions. She is great with most dogs; however, she does not get along with older dogs and dominant dogs, and a home without cats is also best. She’s wonderful with kids.

Story
Moana, now almost 4 years old, was adopted from TSDR 2 years ago and is sadly being returned due to her family's changing work schedule. She loves to play catch and run from one side of the house to the other. She's a well-behaved girl who allows her humans to cut her nails, wash her, brush her, etc. She also has a tendency to snore! Moana is both house and crate trained, and would make a wonderful addition to a family able to give her the attention she needs.

Sweet Cashew was picked up in Nov last year with heartworms, but he didn't let it slow him down! He's finished his treatment and is all cleared to find his furever family. Cashew already knows a few commands including sit and shake. He's energetic and can be a bit of a drama king - a typical husky!

Story
TSDRs Tucker2 was transferred back to a foster home after “working” at our boarding facility. After he was returned from his last failed adoption he went to our board-n-train for additional training. He graduated and became one of the star pupils who they used for training and socializing new dogs that came in from other rescues for training and/or evaluation. He is doing well back at the house and loves playing with foster siblings Alex and Alita. He is house and crate trained. He is a strong willed and smart husky that needs an experienced owner (no first time owners) who will continue to give him structure and guidance or he will likely regress to being a brat again! He is a sweet boy and has matured since his early days. He prefers a home with no young kids! He’s also not a fan of having his paws messed with (including nail trims). He listens well and is good with correction.

Story
Sweet Sky2 was found wandering the streets and rescued by her current foster family. They say she is the sweetest dog they have come across, and "she is so easy. Everyone who comes to our house loves her." Sky2 is house broken, walks well on a leash, and is good with all ages. She loves car rides. Sky2 could be a great addition to a family or wonderful company for an older friend. She has minor vision issues, but is doing great otherwise and is ready to find a furever family to love her the way she will love them!

Story
Hi I’m Oso!!! I am a Rottie-Chow mix.  My name means "bear" in  Spanish. My foster mom says I looked like an old grisly bear and now I am a soft, fluffy, and cuddly teddy bear. My journey is unfolding into a story of healing, hope, love, and the search for a  permanent home with my very own family. The first day of the rest of my life. On 2/2/24 my foster family found me wandering around a gas station. I felt invisible. I know lots of humans saw me asking for help, but they just turned away. I started to wonder if I even existed. Then it happened I realized  a person looking AT me. She was moving her mouth but I couldn’t hear anything. Thankfully she squatted down and was making hand gestures  like  she was actually calling me. I thought “Could it be possible that she actually sees me AND wants me to go to her?“ She seemed friendly, so I starting walking towards her, but it took a minute. I had a very hard time moving. My legs were painfully bound by my dirty and knotted fur. Each step I tried to take hurt terribly. Regardless, I put on my most brave and handsome smile, and kept moving. Secretly, I was worried that when I got closer and she really saw me (and smelled me) she would also turn  away like the others. When I finally got to her, she reached out and touched me. I know by the soft look in her eyes and the gentle touch of her hands I was finally safe. That was the moment I knew I would never have to look back at the life I bravely broke free from and desperately needed to forget.  My past. My skeletal frame covered by heavily matted fur gives  testament of a lifetime of deprivation and heartbreak. My foster mom discovered an old injury, a healed broken rib, that told her of the pains I’ve had to endure. The chain hanging heavily from my neck spoke of the years I spent tied up, only dreaming of running in open fields. It also is proof that I was brave and found the strength to break away  in search of freedom and a life I knew existed and wanted so badly.  I am resilient.  Despite my tribulations, my spirit has never waned. At heart I am youthful, reflecting the playfulness of the puppy I never really got to be. My energy manifests in bursts of joy but is quickly followed by long serene naps.  What makes me truly special, aside from my resilience, is a very unique trait that captures the hearts of those I meet.  One my foster family has fallen in love with from day one. My adorably unforgettable nose and a smile that's all my own! I have cleft lip, but it doesn’t bother me. I think it makes me extra special. My journey as a hearing impaired dog hasn't dampened my spirit; it's a part of what makes me, OSO!  I’m not ashamed, I am proud. I’m HAPPY! Happy all the time!  I have HOPE!  Under the care of my loving foster home, my life has taken a turn for the better. Each day is a step towards recovery, gaining weight, and building the strength that was once stripped from me. My health, once a concern, now shines brightly with a clean bill, including a heartworm-negative status, proving that I am on my path to not just surviving, but thriving.  My dream is simple: a forever home where the grass under my paws and the sun overhead are daily joys. A secure yard for my adventures, and a family that appreciates quiet companionship as much as I do. Though I might not seek out couch cuddles, being by your side, engaged in play or exploration, is where I find my happiness. The family I imagine will understand my journey, offering guidance and strength as I continue to grow in spirit and in health. My ideal human companions will be ready to continue the work of building my confidence and manners, especially as I navigate my newfound interests in toys and the company of other confident dogs. I’m making my mind up about small pup and cats, but I am VERY sure I love to chase squirrels. My foster family said there is perfect home for me, because I’m “the goodest boy ever.”  I am Oso, a survivor, a friend, and a gentle soul seeking a place where I can embrace  being loved and the gift of loving  in return.  My adoption fee is $200 locally in Houston, TX or $550 out of state (includes health certificate and travel fee). I am up to date on shots, neutered and microchipped. Fill out an application at https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=SQYPSGVQNovember 5, 2024, 9:38 pm
