Story
Are you ready to play? Spice is! Spice is a bundle of joy and constant motion! She is a four month old 19 pound (still growing) Siberian husky that came to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 1/15 as a stray. She is cream colored and has vibrant, blue eyes. She’s jubilant, playful, and somewhat comical. She will need to be provided with toys. She can entertain herself with them by tossing them in the air and then chasing them. She will need an active family and a yard for her to expend her energy in. She doesn’t appear to know the sit command. She does jump on you to get your attention. She likes to have her ears scratched. She didn’t have a problem meeting other dogs. She walked okay on a leash. Huskies like to run and therefore frequently try to escape. Spice will need a high secure fence. She will also need frequent brushings. She wants to be an inside dog mostly to enjoy family time with you. She will definitely add spice to your life!

Story
Maya could win a beauty contest. She certainly deserves to be on a calendar! She is a three year-old 30 pound Alaskan husky that came to Mesquite Animal Shelter on 1/21 as a stray. She was dropped off by a concerned citizen. She told me to tell you that I gave her a bath and she was really well behaved. She actually sat in the tub without any resistance. Now she’s proud of how clean she looks and feels. She sits for treats when she wants to. She also jumps up in anticipation. She’s highly motivated by treats. I got dizzy going around in circles trying to get photos of her as she kept following me around for a treat. She’s playful, frisky, loving, happy and well mannered. She prances along beside you on a leash. She was non-reactive to other dogs. At the end of the photo shoot I was rewarded with kisses! If you know anything about huskies you’d know they like to run. Therefore, they sometimes try to escape. Maya will need a tall secure fence. Also, she will need frequent brushings. This cutie is a diamond in the rough and won’t be at the shelter long.

Story
To say that Hanna adores human attention would be an understatement. This fluffy pup immediately mellows out whenever she receives affection from anyone – be it strangers, children, or the elderly. But don't be fooled by her antics. The moment it's time to return to her kennel, she unleashes the husky's trademark howl, serenading the shelter with her rendition of the "shelter dog blues." Her vocal prowess echoes throughout the center, leaving no doubt about her desire for companionship. In 2020, Hanna found her home through OHAR, where she lived alongside another dog and children. However, due to unforeseen hardships, her family faced tough decisions and returned her to OHAR. This turn of events has left Hanna heartbroken, yet she remains resilient, determined to find her fairy tale ending once again. Could you be the one to offer Hanna the love and stability she so deserves?Adoption Process: After your application is approved, a home visit is schedule. We will bring the pet to you and help with introductions to your current pet(s). You will then have a week with the pet to ensure they are the right fit for your home. At the end of the week, you finalize the adoption and the pet is officially part of your family! Learn more at ohar.org/adoptionprocess
