He currently shares his foster home with lots of dogs and some kitties and gets along with everyone famously. HENRY has a huge supply of kisses which he happily shares with humans and pups alike. He has truly never met a stranger and absolutely thrives off of making those around him happy. This boy is full of character and his goofy self will bring so much light into his new family’s life. One of his favorite things in the world is playing, whether it’s with his foster sister or entertaining himself. HENRY would make an excellent partner for all of life’s adventures. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. Hi, I'm Echo!! I'm a strikingly handsome guy, about 6 years old and truth be told I do have a bit of a silly side with my close friends. I'm even game for a bit of a pool party on a hot summer day! I've been here at the Ark for few years now because you see I do have a few peculiarities that make it a bit challenging to find the perfect home for me. I have boundaries so I tend to guard things and I take a while to get to know and trust new people. Even though I can be a bit of a handful, I'm not mean natured and just love a good head scratch and belly rub from my friends! The perfect home for me would be one that I could have it all to myself and my adult people, no kids or cats please! As much as I do love the Ark and how great they care for me, I really do want to have a home of my own. I just need a family that is experienced with special dogs like me and I promise I'll work hard to prove just how fabulous I am!! When I arrived at the Ark, we played the 'guess what breed I am' game, the most guesses were that I'm a Husky / Catahoula mix, but I know that's just a guess - I know what I am, I'm a Purebred Mix-Breed!! Meet Leo! Leo has been DNA tested and we know that he is a Siberian Husky/Great Pyrenees/Mountain Cur mix. He has a beautiful soft golden coat with golden brown eyes. Leo is a very sweet boy who loves to be with his humans, but he is leery of men until he gets to know them. He does overcome this fear with the help of treats and patience. Next thing you know, he will be your best friend. At the shelter, Leo was known as the play yard rockstar because he gets along so well with other dogs. He knows several commands, such as "sit, "down, "shake, and "leave it". Leo will need a 6 foot privacy fenced backyard and a playful canine companion in his new home. Leo can't wait to meet you!

Meet Kolby! This lovable, loyal dog has been part of my life since I adopted him five years ago from a rescue in Alabama, and he’s brought so much joy and companionship. Kolby is a friendly (I call him "aggressively friendly"... He will jump on new people that give him attention), curious dog who thrives with regular play and engagement, and he’s happiest when he’s exploring or enjoying interactive time with his humans. He does well with other dogs, and I think him having another dog to hang out with would help him. Recently, Kolby has shown signs of boredom, and I feel he’d flourish in a home where he can get the engagement he deserves. Due to my own mental health challenges, I’m not able to give Kolby the attention he needs, so I’m seeking a new home where he can truly thrive because I care about him and want what's best for him. Kolby is a wonderful dog, and it’s important to me that he finds a home where he can be his best self.
