All AHHS animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations before adoption (if species appropriate). Application and counseling is required prior to all adoptions. Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!   My name is Kira. I have a condition called complete heterochromia. This is where my eyes are two totally different colors. Makes me pretty unique, huh?  In addition to my stunning appearance, I also have a great personality to boot. I'm playful, snuggly, and all things puppy. I am just a baby though so keep in mind I will require an owner willing to help me learn and grow. I am three months old now, but I will grow with time and am expected to be a medium-large sized dog when fully grown. I am guesstimated to be a Husky mix, but only a DNA test would tell for certain. All I know is I am stinkin' cute!  I'd do just fine in a home with dogs, cats, or kiddos! I know I've got it in me to make someone a fantastic furry family member, I just need to be given a chance. Please note that this is a mixed breed puppy.  There is no guarantee on breed or adult size.  This puppy is in a foster home.  Contact Halee for more information halee@ahhumanesociety.org You may complete an application at https://ahhumanesociety.org/dog-adoption-application/January 21, 2025, 5:36 pm

Story
Leela is a two year old Husky, with loads of energy. She enjoys being walked on a lead with a harness, and has good recall within a controlled enviroment. She has been good with any children or strangers that have came into the house, however she is extremely hyper so she is not always the most gentle. She also does well being crated at night when I am gone. She also travels in the car extremely well and loves to stop for pup cups. She is so sweet and full of personality and so eager to learn.

Story
Meet Leo! Leo has been DNA tested and we know that he is a Siberian Husky/Great Pyrenees/Mountain Cur mix. He has a beautiful soft golden coat with golden brown eyes. Leo is a very sweet boy who loves to be with his humans, but he is leery of men until he gets to know them. He does overcome this fear with the help of treats and patience. Next thing you know, he will be your best friend. At the shelter, Leo was known as the play yard rockstar because he gets along so well with other dogs. He knows several commands, such as "sit, "down, "shake, and "leave it". Leo will need a 6 foot privacy fenced backyard and a playful canine companion in his new home. Leo can't wait to meet you!

Story
We’ve had Aurora since she was a little under three months old and we adopted her for $100 from a mom of a teenager that had went and bought two husky puppies. We got one of the huskies. I want to put the worst part up front. We started noticing food aggression when she was very very young and have tried feeding out of our hands, holding the bowl and getting vets to look at her but the food aggression never went away. She also runs alot. She’s very sweet, easy to train and loves dogs/people. If you would like to adopt Aurora, it may be best that you have a fenced in area. An overall very loving dog, but very energetic. She is protective with her food, toys, and even her bed. As long as you have no problem with that, she would be a good dog. She’s loves being pet, she loves playing fetch, and somewhat loves bathes. I would imagine every dog has issues, but Aurora is a great dog as long as she gets to eat in peace. 😊
