Updated: 04NOV24 *Meet Loki: The Senior Boy with a Big Heart and an Even Bigger Love for Breakfast!* ***COURTESY POST**** Loki is a calm, cool, and collected senior husky who knows how to enjoy the finer things in life-like a good cuddle and an uninterrupted nap, even during the loudest thunderstorms or seven straight days of professional-grade fireworks from your neighbors next-door. He's a pro at staying zen. When it comes to food, Loki is a bit of a foodie! His favorites include chicken, liver, sweet potatoes, peaches, rice, green beans, peas, peanut butter, bone broth, and yogurt. Sometimes he'll humor me with a frozen blueberry. He knows what he likes, and who can blame him? Around the house, Loki is the definition of a well-mannered gentleman. He's never torn up anything and just needs a little initial guidance on the leash for his bathroom breaks. Inside, he roams freely and enjoys hanging out with my girl, Betty. They get along well both indoors and outdoors. I'm still working on getting them to play at full throttle, but Betty tends to get a bit concerned when Loki gets too bouncy and vocal. Poor guy just wants a buddy who understands his playful energy. If you have a dog around Betty's size (45-55lbs, Staffordshire Terrier mix), and they tolerate playful energy, they'd likely be a good match! *Loki's Morning Routine:* Loki may be 10 years old, but when it's breakfast time, he's got the energy of a puppy! His hops, skips, and gentle jumps are a daily highlight. He's very respectful-keeping just enough distance that his little toe taps barely graze you as you walk to the kitchen. *Walks Are Life:* The next big event in Loki's day? Walks! Grab a leash, and he knows it's about to go down. He'll circle and pounce with excitement at the door. But he's a gentleman about it-he knows that no walk starts until he comes to me and waits patiently to be hooked up. He might tug a bit during the first 10-15 minutes, but after that, it's smooth sailing by your side. *A Few Fun Facts:* Loki has some typical husky traits. If there's an opportunity for escape-a cracked door or an open gate-he's not going to say no to a little adventure. That said, he's never tried to dig, squeeze, or jump out of my backyard. He just does his business and waits to come back inside. As I type this, Loki is laying next to me on the couch, enjoying some ear, neck, chest, and back scratches-his favorite things! He's a sweet, loving boy who just needs a family that will give him the love and patience he deserves after everything he's been through. If you think Loki could be a great fit for your family, and your family could be a great fit for him, please fill out the application below. This sweet senior husky deserves a loving, dedicated, and stable home.

Story
Skye is 3 and half years old. She has been a very sweet dog, with just some occasional resource guarding behavior issues. However, about a month ago, she had a boarding issue, and she heavily irritated her paws, causing them to be swollen with bacteria. This caused her to start chewing and licking them to make them worse. This has caused her to get aggressive with us because of the pain she has been in. We have been treating her with antibiotics, pain relievers, and anxiety medication, prescribed by a local Pet Hospital, for the last month, and even had her lab tested. Unfortunately, after countless vet visits, no matter what we try, she will not leave them alone, even though she has multiple cones to help prevent irritation. Due to job situations, my wife and I are no longer in the position to continue to give her the care and attention she needs, in order to heal properly. We would love for her to be accepted in a new home, that is able to accommodate her needs more suitably.

Story
Meet Jack Fostering in Tennessee Here's the link to our adoption application: https://form.jotform.com/201317338010137 This handsome devil is Jack. Jack’s person was deployed, and no one would take his dogs and care for them while deployed. We were asked if we could take them and find them new homes. We said of course. Jack is a happy guy that loves life. He still likes to run in the yard and have a good time. He does like to play fetch, but sometimes choose to keep his toy instead of bringing it back. He is a lover and loves all the attention he can get. He doesn’t meet a stranger; our volunteer was able to get great pictures after just having met him. Jack is crate and house trained and has pretty good house manners. If you would like to add this older gentleman to your family, use the link below to apply. Our fosters and adoption coordinators are the backbone of what we do. Our fosters work tirelessly to integrate our rescue animals into their home, so that we can provide as much information to potential adopters as possible. In addition, our coordinators offer as much information regarding the medical and behavioral and personality characteristics as is known to our organization. Without them, and our extremely generous donors, we would not be able to save as many animals as we do every day. With each adoption, we operate a Pay It Forward program, whenever possible, to help other animals in our rescue and future animals in need. If you are interested in one of our animals, please complete an application. The application link can be found on our Petfinder homepage under the picture. You may also find our application on our website at www.petmatchmakerrescue.com under the Adopt page. If they are listed on our website, their adoptions have not been finalized yet. That does not mean that we have not received several applications, already. Please complete an application if you are interested and we will keep you apprised of their current status. We are all volunteers that work full-time jobs, so please be patient with us. We will get back with you as quickly as possible. If you are interested in fostering for our organization, please complete an application. The application link can be found on our Petfinder homepage under the picture.
