Story
This is a courtesy posting for another rescue to gain some support for this lovely, readymade dog seeking adoption. Available for transport, she is currently being fostered in Texas by a friend who has fostered many dogs for us in the past, does such a terrific job and is hopeful this sweetheart will have success finding a forever home in New England. "Bambi" is a lovely young husky/shepherd mix girlie, barely a year old, who is lingering not finding a home. It all is rather silly, as she is just so well rounded and readymade. The husband of our friend is a natural born trainer and has put such nice behavior and manners on this willing pupil, as you can see. Bambi is a friendly, active girl who loves her crate, gets along just splendidly with the kids in the house, loves to be and play with other dogs, and has no bad habits to speak of other than just being a young dog. She loves going on daily jogs and taking on new training challenges! The only caution is no cats or small furries for this girl. She was dumped off in the rain in Houston to be saved by a good Samaritan as a young puppy, winding up in rescue, where she has been well cared for, and now needing to find her forever home. Provided she gets plenty of daily exercise, she will fit nicely into a variety of situations, is housebroken, knows her basic commands and is healthy, spayed and perfect. If interested, please contact Lucy at maramuser@gmail.com and I would be happy to connect you with her foster, who has had her since April, knows her like a well read book and can answer any questions you might have. Her adoption fee is $200 plus the cost of transport.

Story
Hi there! My name is Harper, I'm a friendly, dignified (but goofy!) gal who would love to find my forever home. I am a pretty girl with lots of love to give, and I'm a really good listener - I'm a great shoulder to cry on! I enjoy long walks and snuggling up on the couch with my favorite humans, but I'm always up for a game of fetch or a quick sprint around the yard. If you're looking for a fun, sweet, and loveable pup, please come and meet me!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application   HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE Age: 11 months (as of 1/14/25) Weight: 49 lbs (as of 10/9/25) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Meet Spirit, a young, sweet, and friendly companion with a heart as big as his playful energy. This independent dog is not only gentle and smart, but he also has a love for swimming and enjoys the company of other dogs. Whether he's chasing a ball or splashing in the water, Spirit's lively nature is sure to bring joy and laughter to any home. His intelligence makes him a quick learner, and his independent streak ensures he's just as happy exploring as he is cuddling up by your side. He is friendly with all of us adults, but we don’t yet know how he is with kids. A fenced yard would be ideal so Spirit could run and play safely, but if that's not available he'll need lots of leash walks and opportunities for off-leash play in a fenced area, but it should be a tall fence as he has been known to climb fences.  An obedience course would be great for Spirit; it will help teach him good manners and commands, further socialization with other dogs and people, and will help build that very important bond between a dog and his human. Spirit's gentle and friendly nature makes him a perfect addition to any family. His playful energy and love for swimming would be a great match for an active household. Spirit is not just a pet, he's a friend, a companion, and a source of unconditional love. So why should you adopt Spirit? Because every home deserves a Spirit, a friend who will bring joy, love, and warmth into your life every day. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see   HERE   for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:   Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org)   **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 29, 2025, 7:07 pm

Story
Ken Local is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! Meet Ken, a resilient 2-year-old Husky who’s ready for a fresh start with a loving, experienced family. Ken’s early life was far from ideal—after escaping multiple times, his former family resorted to chaining him outside behind a business, afraid of what might happen next. Thankfully, rescue stepped in, giving Ken the second chance he deserves. Despite his rough beginning, Ken has a heart full of love for people and other dogs. Like many Huskies, he’s mouthy, talkative, intelligent, and stubborn—but he’s also eager to learn, especially when food is involved! Ken thrives on mental and physical stimulation and would do best with an active, Husky-experienced family that’s ready to continue his training and take him on exciting adventures. Ken needs stability, patience, and plenty of enrichment to show him what a wonderful life with a forever family can be. Are you ready to meet the challenge and welcome this spirited boy into your home? If so, Ken is waiting for you! She is a bit hesitant of the resident cat but would probably go after chickens if given the chance. She has done well with potty training and has shown to be non destructive outside of the crate. Luci is working on walking on a leash but is a puller and will need to continue to work on her good leash walking skills! Luci loves to play with toys and carries them around proudly!

Story
I'm a silly Husky in a compact lil' body! Coming in at only 44 lbs at 2 years old, I'm definitely on the smaller size for my breed. I'm still 100% Husky though - I love to sing, the snow is my favorite place to be, and I'm a total goofball! Plushies are my favorite thing of all, I can entertain myself for hours! Long walks are my other passion, I'm passionate about getting ALL the smells wherever I am! I am pretty pully on the leash, so I'd recommend a bit of training if you're interested in me and want to save your shoulder some wear and tear! I've been great with other dogs, I just wanna play, play, play! Cats are more selective, I respect the ones that get mad at me but I might be a bit of an instigator with the skittish ones. Kids should be over 12 since I have no background with any. I also love to jump up and give hugs, and I don't wanna knock over any littles!

Story
Hello, my name is Shasta. I am as bright and happy as a Shasta Daisy in the spring. I am very social (dogs and people). I have not been cat tested yet, but my foster family thinks I will also be cat social. I wandered up to this lovely lady's home. She has three dogs. All of which I liked very much. I love to hug, play, stay with my people, and talk when I want to share something. I am house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained. My foster mom thinks I was dumped because I did not do well on my car ride to my foster family's home. I came nervous. But my foster family thinks with patience and time, and I will see that car rides are just that—car rides.  I would adore hiking, camping, going to the beach, playing in the water, playing in the fallen leaves and snow trails, and making you laugh. But, most of all, I would adore being with you. Whoever had me trained me some, let's try to find out what I know. To begin the adoption process, please request an application from alittlelonger2home@gmail.com. Once you have received your application, please complete it in full, including the email addresses of your three references. Next is the refundable deposit of $200. The deposit indicates your intentions to take me, Shasta. If, for any reason, the adoption is canceled, you will receive a full refund. The first family to put in an application and deposit is the family I will be reserved to adopt me.
