Story
COCO came to us after she had a cluster of seizures in her newly adoptive home. She was adopted only a month before from a rescue in Tennessee which did not respond to our inquiries regarding her previous history. Coco is a SWEET girl! She is currently in a foster home with a Chihuahua and several cats and does well with all! She enjoys her walks as much as she enjoys her couch time! Coco is a beautiful red brindle! she is 110% housebroken. Great with meeting new people! Coco is in Keppra and phenobarbital to control her seizures. She has had a couple of clusters since arriving in her foster home and we are working In fine tuning her meds. Coco will need more frequent vet visits than the average dog her age. With excellent care, we feel she can live a relatively normal life and will make an excellent companion for some lucky family. Coco has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm tested. Adoption $200. Please fill out an application at www.companimals.org if you are interested in adding Coco to your family! November 3, 2024, 10:40 am

Story
SKYLAR Is a 7 year old husky who was found as a stray in Baltimore. Being bred to run across the frozen tundra, he does like to test his boundaries so a secure fence and lots of exercise is a must for this guy! Skylar loves his walks and loves to be petted. Rides well in the car! He does have some issues with handling his neck/collar area - he may have had a bad experience with rough handling at some point. He does easily let us hook a leash to his collar but was a little mouthy with the volunteers at the shelter where we got him from when they were putting on and off a slip lead over his head. He was very polite about it and didn’t bite down but because of this we prefer him to have a home without small children. We would love Skylar to go to a family with husky experience! He ha shown some resource guarding with toys so we are recommending he be he only pup where he can soak up all the love and attention. Skylar is neutered and has been vaccinated, 4DX tested negative and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting this handsome boy please fill out an application at www.companimals.org. Story
“Some dogs make the world special just by being in it.” Meet precious Stormie. Stormie is a beautiful little darling. She’s so sweet, she could put Hershey’s out of business. Stormie is a 4-year-old Husky/Bulldog mix. This pretty girl is heartsore for love. She is a little confused right now. She had a loving family who cared for her deeply, but sadly housing circumstances landed her at LaMancha after doing their best to keep her. Stormie loves people of all ages and grew up with kids. She is extremely smart and loving, and truly just wants to please you. She loves car rides and being part of your everyday adventures. Stormie is an adorable girl with a beautiful white coat who instantly wins the hearts of everyone. She has one beautiful blue eye spotlighting her Husky mix. She’s a perfect size to fit on your lap or lay right next to you with her head on your lap. Stormie’s only goal in life is to have a loving family again. She deserves to be spoiled like a princess. We promised Stormie that her heart would heal soon because her family is coming quickly. We know you will fall madly in love with her too. Stormie is a love, and love aways wins. Story
This friend has just arrived to us as a stray. When animals are found as strays, our staff will search for an owner. If no one comes to reclaim the pet, we will begin looking for a new home. Unfortunately, we rarely have a background on stray animals. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and update their bio with more information as we learn. They are pending interactions with other animals until they have been cleared by our vet. Please note that we often are unsure of house, crate, car, and leash training status upon arrival. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
Meet Twilight! Twilight was pulled as part of "Angel Retreat's ACCT's of love program. Twilight was scheduled to be euthanized due to arriving at ACCT suffering from Parvo virus. Parvo virus is extremely costly both financially and in terms of time required for round the clock care. Thanks to our donors, we have the means to give these dogs a fighting chance at life, and we are honored to step in and give them that chance. Twilight received the new parvo monoclonal antibody injection as well as lots of love and supportive care and now has fully recovered and is ready for a home of her own! Twilight is a 2 month old husky mix who is full of happiness for her second chance at life! Twilight is an energetic girl who will require a family up to the task of providing her the ample physical and mental exercise and training that her breed requires. Breed experience is STRONGLY preferred. If you are interested in being considered for them please apply on our website at www.angelsretreat.org Twilight Quick Facts: -Twilight needs a family up to the task of taking on a very intelligent and high energy dog! -She is very vocal and likes to talk like his husky friends -She is dog friendly!
