Story
Fenrir is a 4 year old husky mix that we adopted at two years old from an animal rescue in Benton PA. He is an energetic and affectionate dog that loves to be by your side. Fenrir is house trained and capable of having full run of the house without messing with/destroying anything. He loves to go for walks and is well leash trained for a dog his size, but would ideally need someone who is younger and/or strong based on his weight. Fenrir's ideal sleeping place is on a couch or bed (human or pet) and he loves to cuddle with people. We do not know Fenrir's history from birth to 2 years old, but he does seem to startle at times. We are looking to rehome him due to an incident in which he bit our 3 year old seemingly unprovoked. This is the only instance of biting or attempting to bite within two years together. Our only guess is that he was startled in some way, but we feel it would be best for our children and for Fenrir to be in a home without children.

Story
Hinson is a very handsome 4 year old boy. He is best with an experienced handler with huskies and who can display dominance with him, and can work with him with his resource guarding issue. Therefore I think he would be best with a man. He has not had any problems with kids, but I would not chance it. He is aggressive when it comes to resource guarding and has bitten several people . He would probably do best with someone who is active or can give him the exercise that he needs. He has been okay with our other dog , but he is pretty dominant while our other dog is submissive. Absolutely no cats in the home with him, and he would do best with someone who does not have much/frequent guests. He needs a lot of discipline and someone who will put him in place which I cannot do. This is our last resort to find a home for him. Story
Belfort is a large husky mix that loves to be with and near people. He is happiest when he can be within 5 feet or so of his 'humans', even while sleeping. He is house trained and capable of spending unsupervised time alone without being destructive. While alone he loves to sleep on couches, blankets and pillows. He weighs approximately 74lbs and is up to date on vaccines as of April 2024. He is 4 years old. Activity: Belfort is great at matching your energy level. He can be just as happy on mile(s) long walks/hikes as he is cuddling with you on the couch all afternoon. His favorite game is fetch and he's willing to do so with any toy he can find. He loves chew toys, but plays fetch best with 'soft' toys. He does not show any real interest in chewing on or destroying toys. Belfort plays best with toys, but will try to play nibble/nuzzle when playing with adult men (no interest in doing so with women). People: Belfort loves to meet new people and will immediately befriend visitors including contractors. He can be excited and jumpy at first, but calms down naturally within a few minutes or with a treat. On numerous occasions he has proven to be comfortable sleeping near and on visitors within an hour or so of meeting them. Food: Belfort is currently on a diet of IAMS Large Breed (chicken) dog food. Outside of that, he gets one dental bone (Greenies - Large) Each day around noon and treats when meeting new people. Dislikes: Belfort's dislikes include: - Being confined in small spaces without people around (EX: A dog crate) - He will 'wail' like a dog ambulance - Having his paws touched - He immediately pulls them away in discomfort, but does not show signs of aggression. He seems friendly with large dogs, not a fan of small ones because the neighbors small dogs are poorly trained. ! If you are interested in meeting or adopting Belfort please text Casey at 570-441-0083. We adopt to the general public but we also adopt to military veterans with adoption fee waived in order to provide our heroes with companion or emotional support dogs . Our other adoptable pets our posted on our website as well as the very brief (5 minutes) application form. https://rescuepetsservingvets.org ##2313356##
